Cryptos are crashing to zero. Game systems will be half this price in three months

Sir, you must be a glass half-full man :)

    • +3

    • +1

i hope you are right so i can buy the dips lol

    • +1

yeah, would love too see all those miners crashing down to zero too.

    • +2

      !RemindMe in 4 Months

    • -3

Not just crypto, everything crashing soon now with evergrande and all the other Chinese companies recently in the shit. Stock market and big crypto crash incoming

      • What a smartass!

    • You can bookmark this comment. Game systems won't be half price in three months and Crypto won't be crashing to zero. Crypto is here to stay.

  • Do note that description is a 3070 while title is a 3070ti.

    • +6

30 day return policy, take screen shot, if it doesn't come with ti ask for compensation or send it back

      • A good deal if you're tired of hunting for GPU and not fuzzy with the case :)

      • Charge back on your card for item not as described

        • +13

Or just ask now and save the hassle of sending it back

  • I believe GPU is 3070 without the Ti

  • It says RTX 3070 in the description not Ti.

  • seems to be the same as: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-desktop-computers/alien…

which means RTX 3070 not RTX 3070 TI

    • Correct and I don't think any of Dell's desktop model comes with 3070Ti

I also noticed the original price for the 3060Ti model is $3699 which is what the listed price on eBay, whereas the original listed price for 3070 model is $4099 instead, what if they screwed up and ship with 3060Ti, I bet we can get a full refund?

Just note it’ll probably take a long time. Dell has always been slow but I ordered an XPS desktop on the 25/11 and it’s only just shipped.

    • Mine hasn't even shipped yet ordered on 26/11

Dell proprietary parts and other issues, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ulhFi5N2hc.

    • +1

Yep, terribly built product. No one should buy this product

    • +1

Entertaining in a car crash kinda way

    • I thought Dell moved away from this arsehattery years ago.

  • This or legion 5 pro for quest gaming

    • +2

      This.

Unfortunately there is no contest between a laptop and a deskop.

  • +1

Dont forget AIO upgrade with the Dell VRM heatsinks.

    • +1

Hell yeah! The stock CPU fan on this thing is absolute rubbish. It was measuring 60-70°C under <10% load when ambient temperatures were 15°C when I purchased it.
Fixed it by installing the Corsair H75 AIO from Amazon for ~$100.
Haven't noticed a need to get VRM heat sinks yet.

      • My cpu idles at app 10 above ambient temp. Running cir 65 under load.

I have done some mods to improve cooling tho.

Ps. It is normal to see 60ish under light load. Something to do with how the cores are utilised and certain spot gets hotter. Cant remember where I have read it before

  • +6

I think I'd rather go with this (still active) 3070 Ti offering from Techfast for $1999 instead

Will save you a headache with those Dell internals.

    • +2

I don’t think the CPU performance even compares though.

      • +1

Most games are GPU limited at 1440p+ anyways so probs won't make much difference

        • Depends on what game you are playing. A lot of games also take advantage of the CPU processing power. For $199 more, I would go with Alienware to get better performance.

Bought the deal on Black Friday for the Alienware Aurora R12 Gaming Desktop i5 16GB RAM 512GB RTX 3080Ti Black Friday.

    Received this message on Monday:

We would like to offer a replacement upgrade to our Alienware R13 desktop without any additional costs. The R13 will have a processor of 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 12700KF (12-Core, 25MB Cache, 3.6GHz to 5GHz w/Turbo Boost Max 3.0). The rest of the specifications will be matched according to the specs you purchased (e.g. RAM, Storage, etc). You can also choose between the colours: Lunar Light OR Dark Side of the Moon.

Pretty good upgrade from an i5-11400F to an i7 12700KF.

Just be aware that Dell build times are very long, and can take like two months to arrive.

    • +2

Awesome freebie. I think by the time it arrives the 13th Gen intel will be released :P

    • How much did you pay for the PC?

      • $2899

        • Just the GPU is around $2500

        • Damn, that is a good deal. Just makes me wonder what the normal margins dell are taking on their products are!!!

    • Wow, that's really lucky.

    • lucky you, the r13 has better case than r12, more spacious, G12 i7 much powerful than G11 i5.

    • +1

Damn, I bought the same deal but I didn't get this upgrade!

  • Desktops are basically the same price as a laptop these days

Insane, use to be so much cheaper. This seems like a solid price!

    • Desktop same price as laptop? I will choose laptop even though desktop GPU is better.

      • Sometimes 40% weaker…

      • got a 2080 super laptop for $1900 around black friday

  • +2

Clicked on this thinking it was a coffee pod machine.

    • +2

That would be a very expensive pod machine

  • +1

    Single channel ram?

  • +3

Clicked on this thinking it was a new, more expensive, fleshlight design (no, not a typo).

  • So compare to their last 20% XPS 8940 deal, this Alienware deal just $10 more, so looks like PC prices are coming down!
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393232303416

  • Have I heard correctly that these Alien pcs are horrible builds? And overpriced

    • Yes. It only made sense when GPU prices were insane.

      • I bought one recently but refunded due to all the horror stories. Even the new R13 which people have been getting recently seem to be having some sort of issue going by the reddits/YT. Beautiful cases (R13/R14) but the questionable quality of parts and build has just put me off. Plenty of nice prebuilts around imo than gamble on one of these.

        • +1

Would you mind to tell us what happened to your Aurora please?

  • Noticed they also have a couple other deals with their newer R13 and R14 models on their eBay as well. Might be worth considering the R14 since the cases are much better. R14 comes with 6600XT instead + liquid cooler for CPU for slightly more at $2,598.40 with the PSLDELL code.

    • But there's a big difference between 6600XT & 3070 performance?

    • +1

I wouldn't call ~$420 on top of $2160 slightly more
Also RTX 3070 is a much better GPU than 6600 XT

  • Seinfeld: Mulva

  • 5800 without X, 3070 without Ti, a bit here, a bit there, hmmm…

  • Does anyone know how easy it is to upgrade the ram on these ? Also, is there a particular type of ram that would be needed - looking to beef it up to 32gb

  • They use pretty cheap and nasty coolers on these GPUs don't they? Like cheapest possible cooler on any 3070.

  • 68 systems sold so far where is my commission DELL?

    • Username checks out.
Seriously though I want to purchase but I don't know if I'd be able to simply add an extra stick or two of RAM. Do you know what RAM would be compatible?

      • Username checks out? It's ok for ozbargain to make commission from ebay sales and Dell to make money from computer sales. How about us posters that put I'm the work looking for deals and posting? Measly likes?
