@muzeeb - how are you my friend?

    • +9

      Look in the mirror :)

    • +1

Is this Muzeeb person like famous or something on ozbargain? Like Broden or that 1 dude that wanted to buy a BMW 320i as a high yield investment?

      • +2

Once upon a time, Dell UW monitors were incorrectly priced like 90% off RRP and while most orders were cancelled, there was a live chat operator called Muzeeb who honoured the deal for some lucky people (who shared proof of delivery here).

  • +5

Got this during the last deal and have absolutely no complaints with it. Hell of a monitor.

    • +1

Agreed, it's really impressive, makes such a difference.

    • How much did you pay? It's the monitor I'm planning to upgrade to, but was hoping to see it for sub $1000 prices around christmas

      • I got it for $950 shortly after launch

    • I read that people are having an issue with ghosting when playing fast pace games? Is this true?

      • I think you must be reading reviews for the wrong monitor.

As far as I’m aware OLED displays should have virtually no ghosting due to fast response times (0.3ms) and individually lit pixels

  • +10

    $1,018.15 with student discount

    • Is it possible for normies to get this?

      • +1

need an edu email address (or know someone who has this discount I guess)

        • Is it dell edu or a student discount website?

    • how? please

      • +3

Sign up for a Dell account if you don't have one already, then in My Account > Membership, select Student

You'll need to verify as a student, and then any discounts will apply during checkout

    • also happy to share my student discount, pm if interested (I got some dell credit to use)

  • +9

    Obligatory Muzeeb reference.

    • +2

      Explain. I'm new.
Have caught up to the lore of JV and Marshmallow.. Muzeeb however still eludes me..

      • +6

Dell Ultra wide monitors sold for first cheap, like 10% of RRP. Heaps of orders getting knocked back and cancelled.
Someone live chat and the operator was Muzeeb and he honoured the deal. Proof with the delivery a few days later.

        • +1

          Good man muzeeb

        • .You make it sound like Muzeeb was the Dell CSR.

          • +4

@McFly: He was. Also. Dell Muzeeb and ozbargain Muzeeb. Easy to tell apart as ozbargain Muzeeb talks about his wife Mrs Muzeeb often.

        • 10%? It was the 38in Alienware RRP $2499, price error on Dell for $249. Was insane - currently reading your comment on my unit now

  • +5

Geezus. I was about to pull the trigger this morning on the $1,199 price.

Decided to wait until after lunch, then came back to this.

    Thank you!

    • +4

And people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day…

  • +7

    It was sub 1k

    • -6

      that was the 165hz model.

      • +7

Nope, I bought the AW3425DW for: $999.54 in June.

        • +2

          Me too

        • +1

          $950 here.

      • +1

Paid $923 +80 Dell reward $ for this same screen on 30/06…

    • +5

Putting the link here myself since people seem to be allergic to posting it https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911583

    • That's cool. I was still umming and erring back then. I'm committed now, and paying a $67 penalty for my deliberation is an amount I am willing to part with.

  • I am ao tempted, i already have 3418dw, it cost me $1299 back to 2018. Absolutely amazing monitor for world of warcraft and movies.

My second monitor is 27inch viewsonic 1080po. But another super ultra wide is way too big for my table size.

Can anyon post their 34inch or bigger dual monitor setup. Must be 2m long table or 90cm wide table

    • +1

this will blow ur ips one out of water , u shud buy it

      • +1

        Thanks blindfolds

    • Are you me?

I'm planning on getting this monitor around Christmas if a good sub 1000 deal comes around.

The final factor was the HDMI port doesn't run at the full refreshrate/resolution which makes it anoying to hook up my work laptop with alongside my main pc.

  • Thinking about finally switching off my 3821dw! Wondering if I can fit both

    • +1

Wouldn't be able to go back to 1440 from 1600 , nor the size difference

  • Any share how long dells postage takes. Live in Sydney

    • Took a day to get to me in Melbourne

    • startrack/dhl , fast.

    • +2

Depends if they have local stock or not. The items they list don't tell you if they're local and sometimes when you order from Dell they'll tell you that it will arrive in the next 3 months, 'cause they need to manufacture the item and ship it from overseas.

    • +1

im still waiting (6 weeks and counting) from last deal. They said shipping next week. We'll see….

      • Same! This one also says eta 15 Aug

        • Migght call their customer support desk.

If they CONFIRM there is local aussie stock..

might be too good deal to pass up..

was gonna just get the 27 inch MSI oled..

but for what 150 bucks more..this is too good a deal

  • Currently using an lg c42 tv as my monitor. How would this stack up?

Is the AW3225QF a good deal atm?

    • +3

use the c2 , this is a m9nitor and heaps smaller. unless you are ok with transitioning.

    • +1

      How would this stack up?

      Quite high.

    • +7

Keep the C2 - it’s better than the rest and I’ve had them all

  • +3

I got this last deal for $950~ Going from IPS to OLED makes a massive difference! Once you go OLED it'll be very hard to go back. Only thing to be mindful is to follow burn-in precautions. Eg. Let the monitor do its screen refresh process every 4 hours, remove windows taskbar, have slideshow wallpapers etc.

    • May I ask, do you use it for work at all or just gaming? Is it still worth if I compare this with a, 32" 4K high refresh IPS monitor?

      • +1

Just mainly gaming. Never had a 4k monitor but I'd choose this over the 32". I came from a 34" 1440p (Acer X34P)

    • +3

I’ve had mine for 3 years now. Never hid the taskbar, same background. Use it for 10+ hrs a day for work. No burn in.

      • Nice… Well, my Dell S3422DWG died after 3 years and 2 months of ownership, and I’m hoping I won’t have to deal with a similar problem with my next monitor.

      • Is the text blurry? People always complain about that

        • in some specific cases, white text on black background for me, the text can be a bit rough to read but for other variations its fine for me. there are some fixes people attempt with ClearType or MacType which gave them better results. im yet to try either fix.

      • ive got the 175hz g-sync model, also use it for work and gaming a few days of the week so about 8+

Taskbar not hidden, i leave it to do it refresh when it needs it or after ive finished for the day. No burn-in anywhere.

  • i have this

    it's fantastic

    buy it

    • +2

How much you selling it for?

      • +1

        cut it out you

  • Discount codes not working for me unfortunately..saving myself from myself..

  • +1

I don’t game, but given the price of this deal ($1,066 for an OLED), would it still be worth spending $1000–$1,200 (which is my budget) on a 32" IPS 4K 144Hz (the specs I am after) monitor instead, or should I just get this one?

    • +3

Well, I mean. If you're using the monitor for work, you probably shouldn't get OLED since there's going to be a higher chance of a burn in on the screen due to a static scene compared to a constant changing scene of playing a game or watching a movie.

      • Yeah..I keep hearing people saying OLED will blow IPS out of the water but still not recommended for work.

      • +2

might be im just lucky but ive had my 175hz gsync model for a few years and use it for work 8h a few days of the week dont have any burn-in, i check regularly so i can use the warranty, taskbar isnt hidden. I do move my windows around and min/max them as i have the attention span of a toddler.

    • +1

It really depends on what you're planning to use it for

  • I tried both codes and neither work for me.

  • Holding on for a 360hz model. Also I believe this one still uses the gen 1 panel which is pretty dated and has some issues that has been long addressed. But still a solid monitor for the price

    • Which brand is hsing2nd gen?

      • +1

None for Ultrawide, in fact we are already up to gen 4 I believe. So the next ultrawide would be at minimum gen 4 if not gen 5.

        • I would hold off then, cheers

    • Let us know if second generation comes out and i will upgrade my ips one . Consider i am always afk from the monitor, maybe it will get burned one day

      • We're up to gen 4. So the next one is expected to be gen 4 if not gen 5

  • +1

What's the consensus these days for text (and other sharp lines) on QD-OLED and WOLED monitors?

I've been eyeing an OLED for general use, but when I saw one in person about a year ago, the fuzzy text (almost like chromatic aberration) put me off instantly. Is it still the case now?

    • +1

This monitor specifically would also have fuzzy text since it has same sub-pixel layout as gen 1 qdoleds. Gen 3 and 4 panels have better text clarity.

This is a good read: https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/gen-4-samsung-qd-oled-2025…

    • qd oled text clarity , u will get used to. WOLED is not great and You cant get used to because its just bad.

    • +1

I returned my Alienware AW2725D (1440p 27" QD-OLED) because of the text clarity (coming from IPS). Text fringing was too noticeable for me. Didn't try the MacType workarounds which may have helped.

For now I'm waiting on the next-gen WOLED (Gigabyte MO27Q28G) which is supposed to come out this month.

  • Fantastic monitor, picked it up for ~$950 in the last deal with edu discount. Huge upgrade going from 10yr old 27" 1440p VA.

    • how did u adjust to the size? are u sitting the same distance away?

  • -6

No integrated web cam in 2025. NO DEAL

    • +1

No speakers either :P you know you want it

    • +4

Why would an enthusiast (who is buying a $1000+ monitor) want an integrated webcam which would almost certainly be worse than a $30 webcam?
Plus many people don't want an always on webcam.

    • +2

Most monitors don't have a webcam in them

  • +3

Flat version of this monitor waiting room

  • +1

$599 for the 180hz one? Isn't this a much better deal. What games can pump out 180fps to even use all that smoothness. And above 180hz, can you even see the difference. 60 maybe but 180 is overkill.

    • +3

the 599 is for a VA panel. This is for OLED

      • +1

Ah, yea sure. Still a decent saving if the va panel doesn't cause too much discomfort. I'm the kind to either not notice too many setbacks, or can tolerate them.

        • hell yeah, I thought my 32 at work was an IPS but no it's been a VA the entire time until I saw this post haha

    • Pretty sure that changes the model to AW3425DWM, instead of AW3425DW. Differences beyond the frame rate is the M model is a VA panel.

    • Yeah I don't know why so many are against VA panels. Rtings rates the 180Hz one very highly

      • +1

Cuz VA panels still use a backlight

  • I'm concerned i sit to close what would be a safe distance? i had a 32 va just to test and was ok worried about 34! and the 32 version is more expensive!
