  • Good deal - thanks OP!

  • Looking for some help here please, I have a boost prepaid sim that expires in Jan 2022. Can I get this starter pack and port my current boost number to this one? The starter packs are cheaper than reloading which I am trying to avoid. Cheers

You cant, first port out your number to different sim and then port in to boost.

    • +5

You can. Simply chat online with boost and they can transfer your existing boost number into the new boost sim. I did this the last time.

    • I did this for one of our Boost service via online chat so it's doable…

    • Yes . I already have sim starter kit and planning to webchat in January to transfer the number to new sim , you will need to do this via webchat though.

      • so you can activate as anew service, use the new number for a bit, then port another number to it (even if that number is already a boost number)?

        • I did a webchat and expained them that I have a sim with $300 and requested to transfer the value to my number . They will advise you the rest of the process.

  • +1

I tried that by ringing the Boost support line and asked them to use the starter kit for my existing boost ac but they refused.

So I picked up a Coles Mobile 1 month SIM card ported across and plan to port back to Boost after 30 days and use the starter kit.

The porting process was pretty quick.

    • You should do this via webchat

    • Do you need to wait for 1 month to port back in to Boost? Won't they let you port back in to Boost after just, say, a day?

      • +1

I dont have to but since I have 1 month with Coles I will stay with them before porting to Boost.

Use cashrewards 2% and Pay with ebay gift cards from suncorp 3%

  • Wonder if it would port today? I have one ready to go

    • 10am to 6 pm Mon &Tues is best bet for porting

Less chance of hold-ups ( as Sunday not an official porting day.)

  • Is Kogan buy one get one a better deal?

    • Only id Vodafone network suits your needs ;) This is Telstra wholesale.

      • @MuLLeT Boost uses the whole Telstra network while other providers use the wholesale network.

Boost is the only Telstra-powered provider (other than Telstra) that has access to the full Telstra network. The full Telstra network reaches 99.5% of the Australian population, while the Telstra wholesale network used by other Telstra-powered providers such as Belong, Woolworths Mobile, and ALDI reaches 98.8% of the population.

        • Just to add to this, I've noticed the extra 0.7% coverage are the remote location towers and especially on ski resorts like Falls Creek and Mt Hotham compared to the telstra wholesale.

    • YMMV,
I’m having horrible reception issues with Vodafone where I am located (southwest Sydney), I only recently ported from Optus to Vodafone with the recent prepaid deals and already wanting to switch providers as it’s driving my partner and I insane.

      • Is this the rockdale area by any chance ?

  • Thanks for all the replies with regards to porting to a starter sim 👍

  • No stock it's sold out .

  • There are other sellers but it's running out very quickly

    • Thanks bro just checking expiry

  • You get an already opened sim when you buy from auditech, bought two last time, both came with open packaging..

    • And?

      • And,….and,……would you be happy? How would you feel?

        • Games that used to be sealed are now often sold open. There are plenty of products people may have used or tried on before you bought them "new". I said "and" because what's the problem? As long as the Sim activates and I get the prepaid plan I paid for, what's the issue?

          • @tessel: I see your point, and often if we bought something for a decent fair price, as long as we open box/packet and the item looks new and works as new ( as far as we can see and test ),we can still be ok with that as often it's a hassle to drive back an hour return ( in my case and other much worse ones ), so time and money as well as stress. Most of these large retailers and manufacturers make millions of dollars profit, and the contract/agreement is the sale of a New/Unused/Non Returned ( after opening packaging ) item, hence goods are often not cheap.

Many companies do the right thing when item has been opened and handled ( even lightly ), that's why we have seals on expensive electronics with memory inside. They will then sell it as opned box or refurbixed, still for high price so they most likely will not lose on it as that kind of reduction, just like breakage and theft is calculated into their budget and price structures.

If you want to pay top dollar full price for a product that may have been opened/used/data written on etc, that's your choice, but not for the magority. Imagine the time wasted if you purchased a sim already activated and you live an hour each way from shop and it's a weekend, would you still feel the same?

            • @ozhunter68: Your original post mentions nothing about having to return a product. Only no are you saying it was activated. My post above says I have no problem with open packaging, provided it is in good condition like games and many other items now.

What I am saying is I am happy to pay $220 for a $300 product with open packaging. I am curious why you didn't say in the first post that you bought two Sims that were already activated and had to return them?

              • @tessel: OK, I am going to calmly agree to dissagree.

There is a reason why usually retailers Refuse to give refund or exchange for opened sims.

It "Could Be" tampered with or even activated, which causes many unneeded dramas for customers

and Telco's alike ( not to mention Government Regulation ID issues ).

I did not say "it was activated" but "imagine if"? I have bought a opened prepaid wifi modem and when explaining to

store next day was told nothing can be done as they should not have sold me an opened Telco item and now

my problem. Now I Always open and Test Electronics to see everything works and complete before driving home.

I heard from other people on here that they purchased an Opened And Activated Sim, and that is always a risk

                when already opened.

                • +1

@ozhunter68: So the sims weren't activated at all? Yeah, agree to disagree. I firmly believe if you are bargain hunting then you can't expect the same quality and service as you get paying full retail price. Buy directly from Boost then, no discount but you'll get exactly what you are looking for. I know where you are coming from but I totally disagree with it. Best of luck.

                  • @tessel: For other items that's totally fine as you would see or be told about open box or marks etc.

If sim has been reduced in price, as long as they are transparent and honest about it, then ok,

but as there are many sim deals reduced already, if buying online I would prefer new unopened.

P.S. Had a look at auditech_online eBay sim listing and No mention of opened Sim Pack?
