Time to get your daily OXO fix.

Love squeeze bottles for the kitchen. If you haven't tried them yet, its time.

Best used for easy access to cooking oil, vinegars, any home made dressings or sauces.
I also used similar bottles at a pizza shop for garnishes like sour cream.

Will probably be cheaper options of different quality, but this is a new ATL for OXO according to camels

Are these any different to the $1.50 ones from Kmart?

    https://www.kmart.com.au/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDi…

Ikea also has them (Grilltider) for 2x $2 but no caps so I had to 3d print ones for them…

    • also $1.50 @ big w https://www.bigw.com.au/product/brilliant-basics-sauce-bottl… but not sure how quality compares.

    • proper chef squeeze bottles are probably way better than a shitty kmart sauce squeezer

"probably" just says "no concrete idea but I just had to comment"

i have used both and there is a vast difference but cheers

      • I use empty ketchup squeeze bottles. They are way better than the Kmart ones. So hard to get the lid off of the Kmart ones.

    • I looked at the kmart bottles a while ago. if you squeeze the bottles with the cap on you get air leakage around the screw thread.

I wouldn't trust them not to leak liquid either.

  • Medium size is only $5.00 at Peters of Kensington?
    Large is $6.00

  • 350ml for a Large doesn't seem very large.

      • Thanks for the links.

Is the following the shittiest marketing gimmick this year so far?:
        The ebay listing reads:

AU $0.00 postage for each additional eligible item you buy from petersofkensington, when you use the cart to make your purchase.

So I add eg. small and medium/large to the cart, then one of the items gets free delivery while the other is still $11. I can change the combination (eg. small+medium, medium+large, small+medium+large) and one always stays $11. So the the generosity here is I don't need to pay for the delivery three times?

        • Hmm… not quite sure what your gripe is here? Wording seems quite straightforward - have multiple eligible items in your cart, and simply pay for shipping once …

          • @Boscom123: Perhaps I don't use ebay often enough to know how exactly it works.

But I'm quite sure when I order 3 empty plastic bottles from a single seller elsewhere, I don't pay the shipping fees three times.

            • @pizzaguy: Yes I agree! Hence the message stating that same rule applies to the ebay listing!

              • @Boscom123: It would be clearer if it's "$11, no extra postage for additional items from this seller". I got the message as: if I buy any additional item(s) from that seller, I get free postage.

      • Thanks, ordered medium.

    • Nice one!

I use old tomatoe sauce bottles. Food grade and leak proof. Good size as well

    • Like the heinz ketchup bottles? I have never been able to precisely control them… and they are probably only useful for fluids with atleast the viscosity of ketchup

These squeeze bottles are great for applying oil to cast iron pans after cleaning.

    • +2

For oil I prefer something non-squeezy

      • +1

Agreed. I got them for homemade sauces (I like making my own salsas and sauces for tacos for example).

    • I use stainless steel rubbergrip pourer, cost a few bucks.

Screws onto any bottle, i use a funnel and pour whatever 5L Olive oil is on sale into a glass 500ml bottle of some other olive oil.

Sadly do this fairly often cos damn do we use Olive oil often.

Previously the wife used a fancy glass pourover teapot thing, but that's goneskies now.
