    • -6

Not sure why the negs, great point!

      • +27

because it's a lame pun gag that adds nothing for potential buyers

        • +1

You must be fun at parties!

          • +2

@Alistair79: If thats 'fun', I'm not

            • @nikoris: This is the standard internet response from people when you don't find their humour funny.

Just because I don't find your lame jokes funny doesn't mean I have no sense of humour.

        • -1

          Pun gag??

    • If you watch tv on an angle, LG is far superior than non-oled TVs. I hate the ghosty look.

      • +2

I think LG mainly use IPS panels for their LED TVs, which are good for that. The trade off is that they are less bright and blacks are not really black rather a dark grey.

    • Save the unfunny jokes for reddit.

  • The UP80 is the lower end model. Exact reasons, I do not know.

  • +1

someone please tell me ASAP it's crap deal or TV or both 🙈

    • +3

I hope you like your blacks a medium blueish grey colour

      • thanks :)

    • +2

      Mediocre TV. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/nano75-2021

If you want something this quality the Hisense A7G is like $3-400 cheaper.

      • awesome - thanks mate !

    • -7

Only if you like your blacks in the back seat…. :)

      • -1

        Excuse me?

      • As in the back of the bus?

  • For low end TV may be this Samsung is better

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-au8000-75-crystal…

    • I've been looking at either this or the TCL 725. Anyone have any experience?

      • The TCL 727. Much better TV and is the same price more or less

      • I work at a store that sells tv’s. Don’t get a tcl unless you enjoy going through the return process.

    • +1

      Oof $130 delivery to Sydney

  • Between the LG nano75 and Samsung Q60a, which ones are better for netflix and normal TV watching? I understand Samsung is QLED which is brighter but which is better motion wise and picture sharpness.

  • This or the Samsung AU8000? Can get the Samsung Educator discount so it actually comes down to about $1100.

    • +2

neither, with that amount of cash, you can more out of a Hisense U7G or TCL C727. Both are QLED, direct lit LED and has full array local dimming.

      • I'd have to get a 55" c727 instead of the 65. Was also looking at the C725.

        • Conventional wisdom is just to get the biggest size you can afford. If you are in no rush of upgrading, always wait for a bargain before pulling the trigger, often you can get $300-400 off the listed price. Best time to get TV is normally around EOFY or Boxing day sale, those models I mentioned above was 1095 for the 65" last boxing day sale.

          • @BargainDemon: Yeah but 65" AU8000 is the biggest I can get and it's $300 off with the education store deal

            • +1

@tellu2: Spec wise, the AU8000 is a step down from U7G and C727. It's an edge-lit, has no local dimming. It's more on the level of Hisense A7G or TCL P725 which you can get for around $900-ish, not to mention Hisense and TCL comes with standard 3 years warranty, while Samsung only 1 year. So for $1100, you're really paying for the name brand. Ultimately just get whatever TV you'll be happy with.

    • TCL 65C727 got down to 1195 from TGG during boxing day sales, so not that far away.
Hisense U7G at Video Pro is 1170. Apps not as good yet as android models - Disney plus being major gap.

not sure if this is definitive but rtings has a comparison and the UP slightly wins out https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-nano75-2021-vs-lg…

read a bit more, looks like the nano has better colour but the UP8000 has better glare, viewing angle, scaling up, and response times, also a little less power hungry

  • +1

no sense in buying edgelit tv unless all you watch is cable.

    • +1

Why would I need a TV to watch cable?
I can just buy cable and look at it

      • The pun Nazis are here. Careful

  • I think the future of "TV" are Projectors!

    • they keep saying this for decades

      • I however, only said it today lol
Have you seen the newer stuff on the market?
        Bomb af

More uptake hopefully means more evolution

        • Yeah it’s awesome, however still need more improvements and bring down the cost too. Still not a mainstream yet

  • +5

Do we have a list somewhere on best to worst Tv for Ozbargainers :)

    • Just check rtings website it's rates most of them inside and out …

      • +1

But be careful of HiSense who use the same model numbers in the US as for us but supply completely different (much better) hardware to the US.

        • +1

Yep, that's why I stayed well away from the mystical u7g and all its fake specs.

  • +2

Why can’t they just have android tv in them

    • Absolutely. What a pain when Kayo and Paramount+ can't be watched on the LG.

      • +3

Kayo and binge is now available on OLEDs unsure it available on their led range

        • can confirm kayo and binge available on the nano models

        • Paramount Plus you can't though and that's the one I need.

    • Egos from companies like Hisense and LG thinking they can create a better OS than Google. Give people what they want.

  • I'd rather an eko from bigw over this.

  • Advise to look up the edge dimming on this model on youtube, if you think that edge dimming is a selling point. Long story short you'll be turning the feature off.

  • Presenting the LG Nano75 65 not confusing at all

  • This is pretty cheap for a 65" LG OLED….. Oh wait…
