    Thanks for posting in OzTVGuide.com.au

New episodes of Kostas garden are coming to the ABC iView app, should I post a deal too?

    • +5

Under the current rules yes you can if you like. Any piece of new content released on any subscription service can be posted as it's own sub deal.

      • +2

That seems dumb. But rules are rules.

        • +1

They sure are. Here's a news.com.au article about content released for Dec 2021. Each one of these could have been its own individual "Subs" post

          https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/streaming/what-to-w…

This doesn't include numerous other services available such as the channels through Amazon, or other streaming services such as Kayo, Optus Sport etc.

Its only not an issue because it hasn't happened yet. I'm not saying anyone should do it but they could if they wanted to.

    • +3

I'd rather watch Kostas than Disney+

    • +3

I would laugh if I saw a deal [SUBS] Kostas Garden. Sub posts were dubious “deals” from the start, isn’t it just advertising rather than bargains at this point?

  • +10

Ok. So now not just theatrical movies?
Now content made for PAID streaming platform even shows, count as deals?

  • +2

Can someone explain phases to me?

    • +3

      Some people experiment at uni…

Phase Four is the fourth part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following Phase Three and the Infinity Saga.

The Witcher season 3 is coming soon to Netflix….. mark your calendars people! (~facepalm~)

    • Also Spider-man No Way Home coming soon to Disney + in a few months time.

      • +1

That's unusual, the Spiderman movies usually go to Netflix

      • No it wont. Spiderman movies don't go to Disney+ as they are Sony. Sony makes their own streaming deals

  • +9

    Not a bargain

    • +3

      Not a bargain

        • +1

When is the The Witcher coming to Netflix for 3rd season? More interested in this than the usual garbage Marvel has been feeding the masses lately.

          • +1

@pacificstorm: You’ll probably have to make do with The Witcher:Blood Origin this year. Season 3 could be December but more likely will be 2023.

Come on, does this really pass the smell test for a deal? Sub deals are generally for theatrical releases or games being pushed to subscription services (i.e. the saving is not paying for movie tickets or full price games).

This is a show made by a streaming service, for a streaming service, releasing exclusively on a streaming service. There was no indication that it was ever going to be charged for outside of Disney+. If this deal is OK then literally every other streaming service show qualifies as a deal.

And don't paste that generic block "Additions to Subscription Services" like it's a catch-all solution. I don't want to miss out on actual money-saving deals on subscriptions because someone decided that all the series they decided that they like on a streaming service qualified as a deal.

That's normally my go-to thought when seeing people having a sook on things like Xbox Game Pass deals, but there's a pretty clear distinction that you've hit on the head here. Whilst the reminder is appreciated OP, it's not really much more than that.

    • +2

Correct you are welcome to create a new post everytime a piece of new content is due to be released (90 days in advance) or is released for every single paid or free subscription service under the current rules.

Thankyou for the common-sense reply. I would agree, and you'd see in my post history that I've posted deals along the line of what you've mentioned. Unfortunately levity is just taking the piss with these posts and ruining it for every other decent post out there. It's selfish and it's just bullshit

Have a neg - It's just a TV series, which no one even knows the quality of yet, and doesn't look like it's going to be amazing

  • +6

Why not list everything that is being released on Netflix and post it as a deal

  • +2

I think someone needs to start listing all shows being added to Disney, Netflix, Stan etc til the point gets across that this is no deal.

Under the current rules it would be allowed too, so surely whoever does it won't get banned.

    • +1

Provided it is not obvious trolling you can do this. For example if you were negging here and not a deal and posted one well that speaks for itself.

From the discussion thread by mod Neil

If you find a bargain and can show the community why it is a bargain, then feel free to post it. Those with any alternative motives like trying to make a inflammatory, comical, moderation of community messages (e.g. SUBS suck so I'm going to post rubbish in protest) are not welcome.

  • +1

    Oztv

  • +4

Please listed all expiring drama/movies/tv show from Netflix!!!! I don’t want to missed them !!!

  • How do you think this one will affect your average deal votes, OP?

  • +2

    someone likes creating discord….

    • -2

Lol how to trigger haters 101 (and waste their negs votes too)

  • Reminder set and move on :-)
And unsubscribe so I don't get spammed by comments notification.

  • +4

    buys subscription
thinks that content you’re paying for is a deal

  • +2

I don't mind SUBS but this is way too early.

    • +2

I agree, I don't mind if it is max 7 days early, but 69 days is way too early.

      • Deals are allowed to be posted 90 days in advance as per rules. Agree it's way too early personally but them the rules.

      • I think he is aiming at the 69.

  • Mods can we have a rule that these posts aren't allowed until actual release?

  • +4

Why can’t we have a “page” like we have the pizza coupon page with subscription content posts??? Simple right??

  • +2

Yeah this isn't a bargain, and it's allowed to be posted more than 2 months before it's actually a bargain (on a monthly subscription service).

Yet Epic games that were actually FREE weren't even allowed to be posted 1 day in advance.

  • +2

Man this is what people feared when subscription based content first became a deal

  • +3

Oh Levity didn't you remember your last post like this 🤣🤦‍♂️ please stop clogging up ozbargain with this nonsense

  • +1

    This is not a bargain.

  • +1

i thought is is for tomorrow, but i think this post will also not last until tomorrow? anyway, i don't see any deals here.

  • +2

I hope these "deals" are banned

  • +2

I don't see how this is a deal - for example, there's no additional value in getting Disney+ for this as there is nowhere else you can get it

  • +5

Mods - it is quite clear that a lot of users are not happy with these subscription deals.
I know you mentioned this was discussed in the past, but its quite clear that every time there is a subscription posted there are plenty of negs and comments asking why they are being posted as deals.
And yes i know that you can set a setting to remove these but im wonder if anyone is actually enjoying these at all

  • +1

Not a bargain and not like it's limited edition or hard to find or at a discount.

  • +1

    Yeah this is getting dumb.

  • +2

This just like posting something at it RRP.
Also good to see Levity is full of it https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11559917/redir

    • Couldn't help themselves lol

    • Obviously not a person of their word

  • brb gonna go to the coming soon section of Netflix and post every new show/movie as a deal.

What is the "deal" here. Disney+ ? Am I saving any money with this?

Also funny how the discussion thread OP linked most of the votes were against having these posts.

Think we need a separated subs section in Ozb…

    • I spend more money that I save on ozbargain lmfao

  • +1

Can you post this SUBS discussion in the Forums section? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/forum

Entertainment -> Discussions related to Movies, TV shows, Music, etc

  • +2

I used to like [subs] deals, but "deals" like these are just gonna make it looks more dubious. Time to rewrite the rules I suppose

  • No deal.

  • +1

Yeah this isn't a bargain, and it's allowed to be posted more than 2 months before it's actually a bargain (on a monthly subscription service).

Yet Epic games that were actually FREE weren't even allowed to be posted 1 day in advance.

  • Dumb post

  • OzAdvertising

  • +1

    Not a deal.
    Price in the title.

OP posted the last one too. He's now fishing for a reaction.

  • This practice should be discouraged. This is a normal release and not a deal or a bargain and posting this 69 days in advance is clearly taking the p***.

  • +1

No deal and obviously Levity like telling fibs
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/674718?page=2#comment-1155…

    • No bargain listed. Thanks for the link also to the previous thread.
