      • The cost will be 4k-5k for a good custom Klipsh setup with Atmos/DTSX. But you are right. Not everyone will have the patience to hunt for Klipsh deals throughout a period of 6 months and buy them as incremental individual speaker pairs (as I did). Also I agree - not everyone will have a proper setup to install it.

        • any recommendations for a entry-mid level set up? looking to turn garage into a media room and looking to get a 'real' 5.1.1 and up system. will keep the sound bar in the living for space saving

          • @Halc: Invest in a Yamaha RX-V6A or somthing similar which will last you for a while. Then start with some cheap speakers from marketplace/gumtree. Get a pair of good ceiling speakers as you don't want to cut your ceiling twice. Upgrade your cheap speakers on your own pace. These are some recommendations from me for entry mid setup - do your own reseach - wait for the offers.
            Front - Sony sscs5 / klipsh 51M, Mid - Klipsh 52C, Sub - SVS entry level, Ceiling - CS-IC83, Rear - 41M.

    • So if looking for soundbar setup with subwoofer and rear speakers (for ease, neat setup as can't run multiple wires to TV/soundbar) what other brands or system would you recommend?

      • Sorry mate. I'm not a soundbar person. Ask me about a setup with reciever, may be I can get you a tip or two.

  • Does anyone have experience using this soundbar with an LG OLED tv C9/E9? Does it always sync and turn on and off with the tv flawlessly? I got issues where my LG tv doesn't always turn on my Bose 700 soundbar (first world problems I know), so I am contemplating replacing it.

    • I have a very old Sony soundbar and it works flawlessly with the lg c9

    • Try connecting using HDMI cable (for Atmos/Dolby) or optical cable to your TV.
Many encounter connection problems with Bluetooth connection, as there are many updated new version of BT installed on the TV vs sound bar.
The best is buying the TV and Soundbar of the same generation, or same brand or buy together (or same year)
Also, problems with sound lagging half a second to one second behind, if you watch movie for longer period like after a few hours, which is common with bluetooth connection for soundbars or wireless headphones/earphones.

I bought this for $1280 in December. I'm jealous of you all getting it at this price.

I'm not an audiophile but this system is worth every penny even at that price. I upgraded from a $500 Yamaha soundbar that was about 3-4 years old and this is 10x better (to be expected). Atmos experience is amazing.

I had a look at the specs for the 2022 version of this and the improvements look to be minimal at best which gives you confidence they're really pushing this model to the max in terms of tech. Definitely buy it.

    • +2

Purchased for about $1400 a few weeks ago and still feel that's good value, also envious of this price, you aren't alone!

    • My thoughts exactly on the atmos experience, tried this out at JB hifi along with the sonos arc, and I found this sounded much better, got tired of waiting for the Sony HT-A9 or HT-A7000 to go with a sub and set of rear speaker, would be easily a 3k system, where as this for 1.1k is a bargain.

I am keen to know what HW-990B will sound like

  • I have JBL Bar 3.1 450W soundbar that I bought 4yrs ago and connected to Sony TV KD75X9000H. I think it would be very noticeable upgrade, what do you think??

I would love to buy this Samsung deal, but unfortunately don't have access to the EPP :(

  • Probably a good candidate for Oz post.
I pulled trigger on this yesterday for $665.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-series-9-hw-n950-…

Awaiting collection. Hw-n950 is a 2018 model, possbilby first gen of posted model HW-Q950A.
What do all you smart folks say - Shall I return HW-N950 and get HW-Q950A?

    • +1

This is refurbished unit and only available in Vic? advertised for $700. For me I would prefer this deal HW-Q950A, if you can get it for $1009.

      • +1

Yes currently in Vic only. Or if one is keen can talk to jb guys for shipping with nomial fee.

        • Which store ? Can they honor the same price for $1009. Thank you

  • Ughh! Base price raised to 1329.

    • ANZ EPP portal, it is still $1259

  • +1

So you can only grab this deal if you're an ANZ employee? A little confused. And if there are vouches/promo code available, any idea how we can get one to purchase at this discounted price?

  • Looks like OOS now.

  • Am an EPP member but didn't get the email with the $50 code…anyone able to help out?

    • If it has been more than 48hours write an email to [email protected] , they reply back with a code

  • Folks.. I can't figure this out. Do I need an EPP account to order or some type of a special code/voucher? Also, is there a link for govvy employees?

    • +1

you need an EPP account to order and get this special price of $1059 (after $200 promo discount), plus you can get additional $50 discount if you have a promo code through email by newsletter subscription.

  • Can anyone help with the $50 voucher code? Thanks

Is Samsung 100 days return policy valid for purchases through epp? Has anyone tried the returns?
    Thank you

    • +2

Yes, I had a chat with customer care and they confirmed about 100 days return policy

      • +1

The guy I was just chatting with was claiming the following:

I believe this would not eligible for Money Back Guarantee.
As per checking on this link: https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/offe…
This Offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offer.

        • +3

And then another guy on the phone said it does indeed qualify for the 100% guarantee. Oh Samsung… :)

          • +3

@Matej Pribelsky: I just checked with their online support and they confirmed its covered.

      • Not in stock anymore

  • Out of stock as above - hopefully back in stock before deal ends.

  • If someone has purchased it for 1009 can you please share the receipt image. I don't have EPP access but I will try and get JB or TGG to price match it.

    • Let us know if you're successful.

      • +2

I called up their phone sales number, played dumb saying Samsung is giving it for that price and was able to get it for 1009. The stores didn't price match it but phone sales worked.
        Edit: that was TGG

        • Did you call general number of TGG? I understand when you do, you dial your post code and it direct you to nearest store? I got transferred to Blacktown NSW store but no stock available..
Edit: I tried different post code and connected to Prospect store, the cheapest they can offer is $1341 :( any tips?

          • @huntabargain: Check your pm.

            • @Mikedrop89: @huntabargain :I tried calling the TGG national Sales as well and I got the same answer for the best price as $1341. They said their system doesn't allow to go below that price. Pls Help

              • +1

@RK66: Hopefully it comes back in stock again soon like it happened a couple of days ago.

Unfortunately I do not have an answer for you on the workarounds.

              • @RK66: Hey mate, The item is back in stock on the portal if you were still interested

        • Did you hand a receipt ?

  • Has anyone managed to grab a screenshot showing $1009? need for CC price protection thanks in advance :)

  • Suggestions?

Is this a good price or should we wait for the price to drop further ?

    • It won't drop further than this

    • Is there stock at this price??

  • Anyone know if the soundbar can be connected to the TV by this bracket? Soundbar TV bracket I am using this bracket for my old JBL soundbar, but the Samsung bar seems much wider and the 2 fixing holes are on bottom (the 2 fixing holes are on the rear side on the JBL). Not sure if possible to use the supplied 2 L shaped wall brackets and fix it to the TV bracket or if there is any other fixing or special bracket, as didn't want to place bar on table or not keen to fix to wall? Thanks

  • Hi, is there any stock on the EPP now?

    • +1

I don't have access to the EPP portal, but if you go to the general site Samsung.com.au, you can check if in stock (does not seem to be available to buy direct from Samsung).

    • +1

Just checked, OOS at the moment

  • And now Samsung completely removed the Samsung HW-Q950A from their online store… :(

    • Yeah its no longer on the EPP store, did a few searches. Still on the samsung site but no ability to add to cart. Most likely no more stock available and/or getting rid of stock for new model coming in HW-Q990B

    • +1

looks like it will be back after the $200 discount end date :(

  • Anyone recieve their order yet?

Mines "supposed" to be delivered today…

    • +2

Yes I received mine at 7.30am this morning, a very early but pleasant delivery.

      • How is it?

        • +2

bought it a bit early, waiting for my home to be done for another month or so, but have already tried it out at jb hifi and was blown away by how great it sounded, I used a 5.1 logitech for a better part of 5 years and I find this definitely sounds way better.

          • +1

            @me4president: Thanks for info mate
Good luck on your new home and Soundbar too :P

      • Did they contact you?

        Email/message/call?

Just called to confirm, will begin being scheduled for delivery on Tueday 1 Feb (i.e. when it hits the delivery partner…)…

        • I received an sms first of the delivery scheduled date, then another sms to confirm the time period the delivery will occur.
Finally the driver called me about 5 mins before delivery. Overall very happy with the service received.

  • +1

This is back in stock and just bought from their education store. Get in fast as this is the last day.

  • +1

Can confirm this is back in stock at the EPP store too! Be quick.

  • +1

Back instock in their regular website too 😜.. but i bought from EPP store 😉

    • Finally got it at $1129. Thanks 👍

      • Sign up to Samsung's email for an extra $50. Was able to get mine for $1,079.

        • Did the price on EPP gone up from $1,009 inc the $50 voucher? I don't have access to EPP.

        • Couldn't risk it going out of stock again.

  • Hi guys, got it in my cart for $1079 - don't know whether to commit! Should I wait for Q990B or grab this at this price, I have a LG 65" CX by the way..

    • +1

Check the extra features in the new model and see if it worth the extra few hundred $$$ (don't think they will discount it for a while). If you want system in the near future, I would consider this deal (hard to beat). From memory the extra features in the Q990B was not much.

    • +1

The Q990B looks like an incremental upgrade https://www.avforums.com/threads/samsung-hw-q990b-11-1-4-sou…. Seems like an improved subwoofer, no more cloth covering, screen facing the front and improved room calibration for non-Samsung TVs. No ones actually tested it yet so it's hard to tell. If you're happy to pay any price then I'd wait a couple of months for the new one but if you want a bargain then buy this one.

      • It will be good to compare the Q990B to the Klipsch cinema 1200, should be a more close race for price and performance

        • How many days your order took to deliver. TIA

          • @harryjas: Ordered on Sat 22 Jan, received on Fri 28 Jan, so 4 business days, it did show earlier dates available for delivery but I dont think it was achievable due to the public holiday.

Ordered a tv yesterday for a friend, earliest delivery date is Monday 7 Feb, so 4-5 business days, its free delivery so cant complain.

      • Thanks, I ordered the Q950A - my mate has it and raves about it so I thought I'd rather grab a bargain then pay twice that for something mostly similar! Shame about the cloth and the screen facing upwards but I think they are things I can easily work around! Cheers!

  • +1

I missed this again :( subscribed to in-stock alerts on the Samsung website but haven't received any email.

    • +1

Sleep at the wheel! come back next year same time for the new model Q990B deal..

    • Yup, same here! So much for "Just sign up for the stock alerts" from the Samsung chat support!!!

    • In the meantime ring Samsung and they might provide you with 20% off code and keep checking the stock

      • tried that :( , they just mentioned the alerts are sent only when the products are replenished (are in stock at least for a day or 2 or sometimes weeks).
It doesn't make any sense and the agent even asked me to frequently check the website, I said wtf, that's not how it is supposed to work when I signup for stock alerts.

  • Bought this last night on 31/01/2022 for a total $1009 using NAB portal account with $50 Samsung discount coupon code.

Received an sms today 01/02/2022 that the order is now with ANCDelivers.com.au, the earliest delivery date is 16/02/2022. That's quite a long delivery date of more than 2 weeks.

Anyone had their order delivered in a shorter time frame?

    • Same…delivery for 16 Feb in Victoria
I had ordered one with TGG on 31st Dec still waiting:)

      • I'm in Victoria as well, just received an sms that my delivery won't happen on 16 Feb.

Their sms says "your Samsung delivery will not be coming on 16/02/2022, as we are waiting on the confirmation of freight. We will contact you with a new delivery date."

        Gezzz wtf

        • You not alone :( I am in Victoria too received the text it won't be coming on 16th and no bloody update as yet..

    • Lol. I received the exact same email today and was able to get mined delivered on Monday 7 February. I was the first to post about the deal being back so maybe delivery dates are done by purchase queue.

      • Doubt it - I ordered 21 Jan and still haven't heard anything.

    • Ordered on same date and scheduled for delivery to Sydney on 7th Feb. Hope no more delays.

  • For who missed out, Appliance Central has it for $1,178 with free delivery Q950A or could match up with other stores n use some discounted gift card to bring price even lower.

    • Anyone know of options for getting further discount on Appliance Central price?

      • I am not aware how to get further discount from appliance central, but can contact other retailers eg. Harvey Norman and ask to price match A.C. (if you have NRMA membership can get 6% off H.N. gift cards), or contact The Good Guys and if some how you can get discount of their gift cards. I heard some organisations offer
discounted gift cards of some retailers.

  • What speaker stand are you guys choosing for surround speakers? Any recommendations?

    • +1

I bought speakers wall mount bracket set from Bunnings for $15. I found all the speakers stands to be too low, bottom of speaker at 900mm from ground, so did not fit with my layout.
