Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 128GB $449 after $300 Trade-in Bonus, $200 Loyalty & $50 Nwsltr ($749 w/o Trade) Shipped @ Samsung

850
FANEDITION

26/01: I was just emailed by Samsung Loyalty about the CDS vouchers being made valid for purchases of the S21 FE.

After trying, I can confirm they work. They don't stack with the EDS $100 vouchers from the live chat sales team that were invalid from 25-31 Jan. Applying the CDS + MA9 newsletter codes brings the price down to $449 (trade-in excl. device value) or $749. To source a CDS voucher, email [email protected] with front & back photos and IMEI of a Samsung phone and state physical/water damage. Otherwise, S10 & older / out-of-warranty non-Samsung phones provide $100 vouchers.

31/01: Can confirm it still works.

01/02: EDS codes reported as available again - see paragraph detailing vouchers below.

Initial info (prices are lower if using $200 CDS, EDS now available again via chat)

S21 FE sale terms updated, free shipping. If you do not want to trade in, the price is $849 for the 128GB model with the vouchers detailed below. Same as Costco deal (membership req.) but direct from Samsung and throw in an accessory discount. $799 no vouchers required at Samsung Education/Partner Store if you have access to that.
Add $100 to final prices ($649 trade-in excluding the additional discount of the value of your device, $949 vouchers only) for 256GB storage.

10% discount flash sale ended, trade-in bonus upped from $250 back to $300 making the final price (when trading in) $50 more than previous deal, and same as the first deal. The value of the phone you're trading in is also deducted from the final price.
$100 dearer than last deal if you're not trading your old phone in and only using the EDS loyalty & newsletter vouchers (same as first deal).

If you are keeping your phone but using the trade-in service, keep in mind you will likely be charged Asurion's $60 admin fee plus the value of the device - but not the bonus. Also note the Samsung Trade-up App seems to throw a credit card verification error if using a debit card. Support: [email protected].

For $150 off use pre-existing vouchers: EDS $100 loyalty/ineligible trade-in (try another agent if you are denied a voucher, invalid 25 Jan but available again as of 1 Feb) + MA9 $50 email sign-up. Contact [email protected] to request a voucher as soon as you enter your address.

Use FANEDITION code for $50 off accessories added to your cart until 30 January (still works). Use this for a free fast charger. (Now only applies a discount to $69 45W charger, possibly other accessories.)

50% off Samsung Care+ and $100 discount with Samsung Upgrade still available.

Free Buds2 with every purchase until 30 January - Olive on pre-order for stock arriving 18 February which will delay your shipment, keep this in mind if you're ordering the corresponding Olive phone.

I couldn't get the accessory code to work against the 35w charger so I just skipped it. Don't need it

  • Can you get the $300 trade in bonus without actually trading a phone? I have old s8, trade in value is $5. Rather keep it as spare phone. Instead of sending it. If I dont send the phone, will I be charged $65?
$60 for the admin fee and $5 for the phone.
    Any thoughts?

    • +1

$65 is all you'll be charged, correct.
It's best when you have a low value phone.

  • +1

Ordered graphite (with black buds) using trade-in at around 4pm today. Confirm FANEDITION worked for the 45W charger.

I can confirm that (for me) the "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" error on trade-in was being caused by using a phone with IMEI that I had traded in on a previous S21 Ultra deal. Reinstalling the Tradeup app and using a different IMEI solved that problem immediately.

I was given two $100 loyalty codes - didn't use this one so it may still work:
EDS-A54D-35DA-61Z7 - please reply to this if you use it.

    • What do you mean by reinstalling the app and using a different IMEI?

      • +1

I uninstalled and re-installed the Tradeup app on the phone I used for the trade in. At the point where it asks for the phone's IMEI, you can enter the IMEI from another phone of the same model.

Gave in to my partner's Note 10+ 5G instead of upgrading to the S21 FE..

    If anyone needs
    $100 EDS voucher code: EDS-A54N-53BG-XZ7F
    $50 newsletter code: MA9-E4N7-WB8M-58W6

Reply once you've used it please

Enjoy & thanks for sharing OP

    • Can I use them please? I'm trying to buy my sister a new phone.

  • Anyone got spare newsletter EDS vouchers. I have tried the above, but I am receiving this from Samsung, "The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions". I gave up getting EDS from chat people. I am getting nowhere.

    • Same story - I have my own code but it gives - The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions"

      • Yeah Samsung gave me my own EDS code on Monday - then on Tuesday couldn't get it to apply.

  • Codes expired on 25 Jan :-(

    • Are you saying the voucher scheme has ended?

  • Anyone still manages to get EDS vouchers? Tried several online chat agents with no success. Or does anyone have spare EDS vouchers, please? TIA

  • Price now down $100 due to CDS $200 loyalty vouchers being made valid for S21 FE purchases!
    See details in original post.

    • I have an old (5+ years) Samsung A3. Do you think if I email [email protected] they will give me a CDS voucher?

I tried contacting the Samsung Chat for an EDS voucher but they said the vounchers expired on 25 Jan. Seem like other people have also had a similar experience.

      • Yes, email them with front/back photos and the IMEI, state that it has water damage or the like, and they'll either phone you for more details or provide the voucher straight up.

        • Anybody has a spare IMEI and photos they can share?
Can I send them a really old Samsung phone?

          • +1

@wildstone: I sent them an Samsung A3 from 2017. Got a $200 voucher back this morning with no questions asked. Hope that helps.

        • Hi mate,

How long should the voucher take to come through? Thanks for all your work on this

          • @shehan89: Should be a few hours, up to a day. Replying to their emails takes as little as 20 minutes for a response.

            • @Techie4066: Thanks! Looks like others are having more luck than me getting a reply from them

        • +1

Thanks Techie for all your help.

It worked for me. They ended up giving me a $200 voucher.

This was in the disclaimer in the voucher email they sent back to me:
          "Samsung has updated the guidelines for Loyalty Vouchers as follows;
Samsung phones that have physical damage - $200 Voucher
Aged Samsung phones/models (Galaxy S10 or older) - $100 Voucher
Non Samsung phones that is out of warranty (or bought 2 years ago and above) - $100 Voucher
          1. Voucher discounts will apply to the S21FE/S21/S21+/S21 Ultra/ZFLIP 3/ZFOLD 3 ONLY.
          2. Vouchers can be combined/stacked with ongoing promotions/offers (e.g. Trade-Up Bonus, Sign-Up Bonus)"

THANK YOU OP!!! It worked perfectly with all your clear instructions and was not too difficult to manage. The waiting was the hardest part. Greatly Appreciated.

    • +1

Very glad to hear, thank you and no problem.

It might be hard to attain for some (the deal was even flagged as expired this morning) but it definitely is still active, and a great price imo.

  • +1

Passing on my great thanks as well for a great deal. Just waiting on the newsletter voucher (have emailed) but it really seems to take some time - managed to score a $200 voucher for my S8 as well. This was the info I was given, I then just tactfully asked whether I would 'in theory' get $200 if my S8 was damaged, as I was just hoping to get the best deal. They just gave me the $200 voucher without asking anymore and were very helpful.

"The voucher we have is only applicable to Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy Z Flip and S21 Series. Can only be use in Samsung Australia Website only and not in the store.
Can apply the voucher code on the promo code section before checking out.
And the voucher code we have is valid for 7 days only.
If you have the device that is either:

    a. Customer-induced damage (CID) - $200 CRP voucher discount.
    b. Aged phones/models (Galaxy S10 or older) - $100 CRP voucher discount"

    Hi OP,

Just wanted to say a massive thank you.
I have a Sumsung s10e which is over 2.5 years.
I opted to trade in for $130 + $300 bonus

    1 X Galaxy S21 FE 5G
    256GB
    $422.84

    1 X Wireless Charger Duo
    $35.16

    1 X Galaxy Buds2
    Free

    Total Savings$949.00
    Total (inc GST)$458.00

    • No problem. The savings really do look huge when you see the totals!

  • +1

I managed to get the 256gb with an s8 trade it in for $544. Used the CID for $200 and new customer $50 discount to bring it down. Got the CID in 1hr, just took the pic of the front ,back of Note 10 and my Sim 2 number. Used my Note 10+ for the CID and used the s8 for trade in. Asurion does not show the $60 admin charge anymore. Not sure if that is the case. Thanks OP

    • Who did you contact for $200 voucher? Thanks.

      • Instructions all up top.

        • Cheers, thanks.

  • -1

I'm thinking this is the most cumbersome BS to trade in perfectly intact 2 year old phones for a 1 year old phone on the eve of a brand new model. Maybe I'll wait for the early purchase discounts on S22

    • +1

Might be cumbersome, but it's sending 2 email's worth of your time for $250. Seems like great value and cost-time efficiency to me!
Besides that, for the trade-in, the system is about the same as the rest.

And yeah, you should know this isn't for S21/S22 buyers. It's in a different league as the early discounts suggest, but it still has the same processor and very similar real life camera performance.

  • Be careful with Samsung phones. If it suddenly dies (screen in my case), Samsung will claim that the phone is rooted (when it is not) and quote you $450 for repair.

    Proof:
    https://ibb.co/DMpXkgq

This is how they deal with loyal customers (not anymore, s21+ my last Samsung phone) for 7 years.

    • Go direct to Fair Trading now. Collect all the evidence, emails etc and send it off. Worked for me! NCAT after that if needed (represent yourself).
Samsung AU support is shit when you need a refund, believe me I know.

What alternative brand do you suggest?

      • +1

I contacted Amazon first and they sent me a new one the next day. If Amazon didn't clean up sh*t after Samsung, I would contact Fair Trading.

What alternative brand do you suggest?

If you need good customer service and support then Apple. If you need Android - any phone you like. I thought Samsung is similar to Apple but they are similar to Chinese brands. There is no point to pay more unless you like specific features of Samsung phones or you like their design.

    • +1

If the screen of your phone dies, then your phone IS basically rooted….

      • Please help to see the link between the root (software feature) and the screen (hardware). Not to mention how it could magically root itself because I certainly didn't. I don't even know how to do it and am too lazy to research. Every time I buy a new phone I promise myself to root it and install standard Android in 2 years when the warrenty expires, but instead in 2-3 years I was just buying a new phone and was giving myself the same promise.

They confirmed a manufacturing defect with the screen and were ready to replace it free of cost. But they also found that the motherboard is rooted (whatever it means) and couldn't restore the phone without replacing the motherboard because the phone "won't pass their quality standards". So, either they replace both (the screen for free and the motherboard for $450) or nothing. That was their offer.

The phone was completely ok, just the screen didn't turn on. I.e. android was working, I was receiving notifications and calls, it vibrated to button clicks as expected. Just an issue with the screen.

        • +1

He means rooted as in buggered, screwed etc.

  • My CDS code doesn't work somehow. It says invalid code. :(

    • UPDATE

Emailed them again and they sent me a different code worked.

  • +1

Thanks for all your help OP!

Managed to grab the Olive S21 FE 128GB with the matching ear buds, a 25W charger and the 35W charger duo for $777.

I had some difficulty getting the $200 voucher (my emails weren't replied to). However my partner emailed and got the code within 30 minutes.

Here's the wording we used if anyone finds it useful

    Hi there,

I have a damaged phone that is no longer working due to physical damage.

I have attached photos of it to this email.

I was wondering if I have any upgrade options available to me in order to upgrade to a new phone.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • So after making use of this amazing deal….. anyone know of some deals on screen protectors / cases? :D

  • Hello everyone. Just wanted to ask if anyone has a spare $50 newsletter sign up voucher. I would really really appreciate it. Have everything else, just waiting on that. Thank you so much!

  • I have received my trade in code but it is saying trade up not available when I try and enter it on the wbesite

    • +1

Try doing the trade-in process on the app again (reinstall it), just use a different IMEI so it thinks it's a new phone.

      • Worked! Thank you so much

  • @Techie4066, can you please send me a message? My account is new
Just wanted to understand what the lowest price is without a trade in (after your update)

    • Lowest price is $749 using the $200 + $50 vouchers. Use FANEDITION for $50 off the 45W charger.

If you have an iPhone 7 / Galaxy S8 / Pixel 3 XL or up (and some other phones), you can get it for the trade-in price of $449 minus the phone's value, and if you don't send it in you'll be charged the value + $60 admin fee. Works out a fair bit cheaper.

      • Isnt it 100 + 50 now? (I thought CDS was 100)

        • $200 if you state it's damaged.
They just provide codes as requested.

  • I tried entering my credit card (not debit), but it kept saying validating credit card failed . Does anyone have the same problem atm?

  • Hi everyone, I read this on the Samsung tradeup page:
"If you do not to return your device in 7 days , you will be automatically charged the value of the trade-in credit plus a $60 (AUD) administration fee. Samsung may also charge you for any additional bonus credit which was applied to your order."
From my understanding, they can actually charge you the trade up bonus (ie $300) if you don't return your device, is that right? From what I've read here, they haven't done that so far, but it does look like a possibility right?

    • +1

It's a possibility but never done before. Samsung Shop's system, where the bonus is applied, looks separate to Asurion's.
They weren't even charging anything until 1-2 months ago.

    • +1

It would be foolish to assume it couldn't happen.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, got the 128GB S21 FE 5G + Buds for $474 (didn't use $50 newsletter code).

Traded an old S9+ ($25 value), plus the $200 CDS code obtained by email as per instructions. Newsletter code taking too long so will use that for a case or charger later. Also didn't use FANEDITION as no chargers available that use that code. Still happy with that deal :)

  • Anyone got any $200 CDS code that you are not going to use? Please PM if you have one. That would be great. Don't have any current Samsung phone to claim the CDS.

  • Does anyone have a spare newsletter code? I dont want to miss out on the free buds and samsung still havent got back to me about the code -_-

    • +1

      Hey mate, PM me

      • PM'd :)

  • +1

My S7 is too old for trade in.

I have government account but the price is just as good without discount.

Thoughts on the S20 FE? Only because it has SD.card.

  • Does anyone have a spare newsletter code? I've contacted live chat 3 times now and still haven't managed to have it sent after a week.

    • +1

Sent you mine via PM. It expires tomorrow.

  • My trade up link in the app isn't working. Is it now only instore?

    • Do you mean the final code given in the app which you apply in the cart? Try generating it again by re-installing the app - you may have to change the IMEI by one digit.

      • Yeah, the link just doesn't work but the link under it saying instore takes me to locations. Righto might try that. Thanks

        • +1

Oh, you're talking the step of choosing between online/in-store purchase. Not sure about that one, haven't heard of the buttons not working.

          • +1

@Techie4066: I figured it out. The link was just supposed to take me to the shop but didn't work. I thought I had to put the ID in there to get a code not put the ID in check out. Thanks for being so responsive on here though. Much appreciated and got myself a decent deal.

            • +1

@Damannation: Oh I understand now, yeah that button below the unique code on the final page was non-functioning. As you figured it's a generic link to the online shop. Hope you scored!

  • +1

Thank you OP. Bought S21 FE 5G Lavender for my sister $444 including $5 trade-in for S8+. Won't be sending it in so will be down another $65 but perfectly reasonable for a working S8+ as a backup phone when phones in the house break.

If anyone needs a $100 CDS voucher, PM me. I sent the 'old phone' email by mistake and got the $100 voucher. Then sent another 'damaged phone' email and got and used up the $200 voucher. Therefore I have a spare $100 voucher I'm not going to use.

    • $100 voucher given away

  • I wonder when this deal ends?

    • $300 trade-in bonus ends 4 Feb.
FANEDITION accessory discount and bonus Buds2 were always scheduled to end tonight.

      • Thanks,.. looks like I'll miss out again as work tonight

  • I wonder if the deals will change on release of the S22?

  • Does anyone have a spare newsletter code please?

  • Does anybody know if you can get the $300 trade bonus x2 in the same order if I have 2 eligible phones? ($300 off 2 s21 FE's, obviously not $600 off the one which would make it free lol) Cheers!

  • "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    REALLY

    • Reinstall app, do it again

      • Nah i mean on the actual samsung website, i have the code

      • do you mean get another code or?

        • +1

Yeah you need a new code apparently. To register a "new" phone change the IMEI by one digit.

          • @Techie4066: yeah thankyou :) it glitched out earlier on that phone and i never got to use the code, next time for that phone.
Also do you know the answer to my question above? i cant see anywhere in the terms stating i cant, just dont want to waste my last trade code for today

            • @nft-yes: Not sure, you might have to process the orders separately to input 2x trade-ins.

              • @Techie4066: Yep you are correct, I tried to do both, and it just removes your whole cart and starts with the "New" trade up, 1 trade up bonus per order not phone, have not seen this stated anywhere, probably worth while adding into the next trade up posts

  • Got this via email this morning:

    1. Voucher discounts will apply to the S21/FLIP 3/FOLD 3 SERIES ONLY. (S21 FE Not Included)

    2. Vouchers can be combined/stacked with ongoing promotions/offers (e.g. Trade-Up Bonus, Sign-Up Bonus)

3.The Voucher Code is valid for purchasing products from the Samsung Australia website only ( www.samsung.com.au ). It will stay active for the next 7 days.

    1. Updates on the webpage takes precedence over these disclaimers.

    2. Promotions may be changed at the sole discretion of Samsung Australia.

    • Just tried mine - still works. FANEDITION also still works on the 45W charger.

      • The nice folks at Samsung Loyalty sent me the terms and conditions and all the info, but didn't include a code. Knowing my luck, it will go out of stock again before they send me a code. Not going to bite for anything less than a $200 loyalty voucher.

  • Does anyone manage to add galaxy buds 2?

    Cant add free buds anymore

    • +2

Nope, expired yesterday and removed from title.

  • My phone would not start. Do they accept it for trade-in?

  • Does anyone have a $50 newsletter voucher they are not using?

    • have you managed to get free buds2?
