So many fans, so much ❤️❤️

Does CR tracks when using Groupon app?
Also, the promo code isn't listed on CR so they might not stack anyway.

  • +1

Absolutely perfect timing this will last my number for 1 year, with 6 months worth of free unlimited calling and texting on it.

The Code App20 shows on CR (at least their app) now (Local & Travel Categories- 15%, Shopping (Goods) Categories- 10%, Since groupon page shows item under "Local" I reckon it is 15% back from CR).

And ofcourse as usual since its Groupon MAKE SURE TO DO A SCREEN RECORDING

    So happy stacking

    • Thanks, updated the post :)

    • Does groupon got a bad record of not tracking on CR?

      • +1

Groupon generally has a bad record of tracking, rejecting, declining cashback transactions (at both CR and SB)

Just search Groupon on ozbargain ( or better ask reps here on their opinion with Groupon dealings)

        Mine Tracked fine though

  • My sim has still not been shipped from this deal a few days ago - anyone got theirs ?

    • Yes, received my sim in the post today.

      • Do you have to do something after purchasing the deal on groupon for them to send the SIM?

        • You need to redeem the Groupon voucher code with Amaysim, they will then send out the sim card in the post from there.

    • Mines shipped but not received yet…

  • I'm currently with amaysim, does anyone know if they have a lock out period for porting out then back in again?

    • +1

I asked the same question on the previous deal and was told probably wait a week before coming back In. I have taken the leap of faith. My current amaysim expires in a couple days. Will port out and try getting back in before 21-Feb. Happy to report back if the deal still exists then.

      • Thanks mate. Also do you know if you can turn off auto recharge within the first month and have the 6 months still go through or can you only turn off auto recharge on the last month?

        • +2

My experience from similar Groupon deal 18-24mths ago, is that you shouldn't cancel the auto renew until the last of your 6 X $0 monthly renewals has occurred.

Amaysim may have changed their system since, but cancelling the auto renewal early in the 6 Month period meant that the subsequent months didn't renew either.

I would recommend changing the payment method to bpay - that way they can’t charge you. Also, for some reasons although the previous deal said 6 months, I got a message after my 5th month saying my recharge had failed. Luckily I didn’t have my cc on else I would have probably got charged. All I had to do was to hop on to chat and they put on my last recharge for me. So again, recommend changing payment method - that way you won’t get charged.

@Dealking: This happens to me every time with these Groupon Amaysim vouchers where the final month doesn't auto renew.

          • @Dealking: Changing to BPay would be a good way to make sure you aren't charged.
Is changing the payment method to BPay an option in the mobile app? I can only see credit card or paypal, but not BPay.

            • @Elmer Fudd: I don’t have the app - but it’s there on the website. Try voucher.

  • • Redeem before: 21 Feb 2022
    • SIM plan must be activated before 10 Mar 2022

  • Can u top up the 2nd month with other packs?

  • "• Redeem before: 21 Feb 2022
    • SIM plan must be activated before 10 Mar 2022"

  • For those who don't want to wait for the SIM to arrive and who would like a phone number today AND your phone is e-sim compatible, Optus is currently offering a 1 day trial on their $2/day 5G Optus Flex prepaid plan or 7 day trial on their $7/7 day 4G Optus Flex prepaid plan. Downloaded e-sim and activated service immediately for free (I picked the 7 day trial because the T&Cs suggested the next day's payment is deducted in the evening so wanted to give myself some time in case activation didn't occur straight away). Then can port this number over to this amaysim plan. Saves the $2.95 of the boost sim or the Aldi $5 PAYG sim.
This Optus flex trial also great for those who just want to port out their number then go back to amaysim (I'm presuming it will work) as it also allows you to bring your own number.

    • I have a spare optus sim, would that work with this amaysim plan?

    • Do you keep the esim when you switch to amaysim?

      • Yep

  • Great deal thanks OP
can confirm tracked CR with groupon app
Just a heads up to amaysim users, I found in the past with deals like this that they charged me the $12 for the last month of the promo. though after calling them they issued a refund with a sorry and blamed it on a tech glitch.
I'm wondering if anyone else had the same issue?

    • From a previous discussion, this loss of a month seems to occur if you redeem the voucher but don't port within 10 days (the estimated maximum delivery time).

It's nice that they at least admitted it was a tech glitch (or more probably, tech incompetence or some strange unworkable system). I'm offended that they implied I did something wrong and was receiving an extra month out of goodwill.

I highly suggest anyone charged for the extra month over the past few years demand a refund from Amaysim and lodge a complaint with Groupon, threatening ACCC action if they don't comply.
