must resist, must wait for the next gen cards to come out…!

this is a dupe, the other post already mentioned this card:
gigabyte Gaming OC Available for $20 more

    • +1

If you can, just HODL. I got a RTX 3060Ti from a Dell XPS 8940 prebuilt by selling the whole machine except the GPU.

Also I guess Gamining OC version is better than Eagle?

      • +1

Gaming is better than Eagle for just $20 lunch money.

      • May I ask how much did you end up paying for the 3060 TI?

        • +1

I grabbed this from Dell eBay:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665769

Keep the card and sell the other parts as whole for around $900.

So ending up with a RTX 3060 Ti for around $800 is not that bad. Even better if you can grab discounted ebay gift cards from Shopback.

          • @BennyHe2018: $800 excellent price I guess your RTX 3060 TI is Dell branded which shouldn't matter

            • +1

@Italkdigital: Dell's RTX 3060 Ti and 3070 have decent dual fan cooler.

Not looking good on their RTX 3080 and higher models. Will definitely thermal throttling on them.

              • +2

@BennyHe2018: It doesn't. My 3080 reaches 72-75 degrees celcius (depending on room temperature) at full stress. For example, Heaven test on extreme settings. The cards are made by MSI.

                • +1

@[Deactivated]: Dell 3080 only got 2 fans, very bad for mining, reached 110c vram temp and throttled down. All Dell GPUs are not suitable for mining.

                  • +2

@[Deactivated]: You should never mine on just standard bios. You need to undervolt to get the temperature right down. Flashing the bios is almost a necessary step in preparing a GPU for mining.

                    • +1

@[Deactivated]: and the bios is from EVGA, some if not all EVGA cards thus no need flashing lol.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Not that I'm into mining but I've always wanted to under volt (and under clock) my GC card, what sounds simple, 1st change bios on GC card then use some sort of 3rd party software to under volt or is under volt directly through GC bios?

                      • @Italkdigital: You can use someone's tried and tested bios if you trust the source and flash the card. You can download your own bios and change the settings and flash the card. Or you can also use something like Afterburner to do them through software but not all cards are unlocked to fully allow that.

                • @[Deactivated]: Have you checked the VRAM temp? GDDR6X can sometimes reaches over 100c.

            • +1

@Italkdigital: The Dell cards are made by MSI.

          • @BennyHe2018: one more question did you sell the Dell pc on eBay or private like Gumtree?

Also I didn't see to much difference between my current 3060 TI compared to my previous 3070

Smart way too getting your 3060 TI very cheap, so well done πŸ‘πŸ˜

            Votes all round lolz

            • @Italkdigital: Just sell it on Facebook or Gumtree.

            • @Italkdigital: ebay charged 12% fee on commission. gumtree is harder as no buyer protection, unless local pickup. its hit and miss.

              • @[Deactivated]: Advertise on gumtree first. Gumtree is owned by eBay so it gives you the option at the end to replicate the advert on eBay for $0.30c. Do it, sell and pay just $0.30c.

                • @[Deactivated]: ebay still charge you 12% at the end.

                  • @[Deactivated]: No it doesn't buddy. I've been using it for a year and all I've paid is $0.30c. but you are only allowed two ads a month.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Dang it, I better start doing it then.

                      • @[Deactivated]: Here are two of my transactions recently. You can see only 30c taken.

                        https://ibb.co/zJWSPjR

                        • @[Deactivated]: do you need to link ur gumtree and ebay acc? mine not showing up.

                          • @[Deactivated]: No it just offers to replicate it in eBay but ace reckons it's no longer available. πŸ˜•

                        • @[Deactivated]: So does the Gumtree and eBay accounts need to use the exact same email so to be linked somehow to each other or one gets a voucher from Gumtree to use on eBay, would love to know how this works, cheers

                    • @[Deactivated]: i thought they stopped it?

                      • @MaxHashrate: Looks like they did: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/583761

Just tried, not showin up. unless DB knows something.

                        • @[Deactivated]: Oh I didn't know they stopped it. I used it around Christmas last time.

                          • @[Deactivated]: eBay/Gumtree promo ended 25th Dec 2021 and there haven't been any other selling offers since, unlikely it'll come back.

If you have high value items to sell the fees will be significant and your only option really is to mark up the price by 13.4% to cover those fees.

                        • @[Deactivated]: yea those were good times

                          hope ebay brings it back!

              • @[Deactivated]: Actually eBay is now 13 4% commission, they have included the PayPal fee in the commission why the slight rise, even if someone pickup and pays cash you'll still get charged 13.4% commission

  • +1

So tempting. Especially now that dying light 2 is out, that RT eye candy. lol.

  • Going by researching eBay for at least 4 weeks on second hand graphics cards and new prices coming down also looks like prices overall are coming down for graphics cardsπŸ‘πŸ˜

  • Sweet, bought!

  • Wish I could have hodled but my old card assploded. Bought an MSI 3070 for the same price last year.

    • Wtf did I just read?

  • Damn, just bought this for $1499 a week ago. :(

  • Bought one! Seems like the lowest price in a while and is pretty good perf per $, while still being a nice upgrade over my 970 GTX.

  • Are Gigabyte cards still suffering with a fan ramping issue like 20s series?
