    FREE not working for me??

  • All signed up but cant get any USA apps or even web browser to work

Can sign it but when i click on a video it doesnt work

I have PureVPN and tried a trial of CyberGhost VPN

Both Android phone (APK), Android TV (sideload apk) and PC.

    Any ideas?

    • You still need to use VPN even after using US apk. Also what is the error that you are getting?

      • Using my VPN on my TV, it says 'currently experiencing issues' and wont let me login.

Using VPN (Ghost and Pure) on phone it allows me to click the episode but then the AUS app opens on my phone asking me to login.

Using VPN on PC (Pure) it starts to load the episode then it times out….

  • Worked on NordVPN set to US. Thanks Op!

Doesn't offer 6 months during cancellation for me ..

  • Any chance paramount suddenly improved their geo blocking overnight? I suddenly can't get on with my surfshark vpn app and USA apk on chromecast with Google tv - was working great last night.

    • Working fine for me, but I am using my DNS set up. Actually watching it now

      • Cool is that a free service? U change the router dns settings?

        • Paid, but they have a free 14 day trial with no payment info required

    • +1

I'm also experiencing the same issues with the exact same set-up…

Can't get anything to work tonight!

      • Thanks for updating

      • I tried a bunch of things and nothing worked, you have any luck?

    • Surfshark not working for me, but Nord seems to be fine

      • Thanks yah I tried to complain to surfshark chat that paramount has their IPs - didn't seem to care.

    • Same with me. Was using Surfshark vpn when I registered and it worked. Now, it stopped working. Everytime I tried it, I could login but couldnt run any video.

      • See my answers on bottom of this page - I got it working again by forcing open dns on my pc and chromecast with Google tv.

        • Yeah, I saw that. Just a bit too complicated for me to set it up. And it seems that you always need a PC to do it. I dont know

          • @Gundala: Happy to help if you have access to a pc/laptop - also just to be clear, you only need to do it once and it sticks.

  • No unfortunately, it's still not working.

Perhaps they have banned users that signed up with these codes?

I wonder if it's worth signing up with the new special price that Paramount has on offer at the moment?

      Sads

    • Perhaps they have banned users that signed up with these codes?

More likely they caught up with the VPN IPs. DNS still works

      • Thanks.

You wouldn't by any chance know how to change the DNS settings in the Chromecast with Google TV?

    • i persisted with the SS support and got it working on windows at least again - what worked was changing the dns setttings on the wifi adaptor and the vpn adaptor in network settings to use open dns (I also changed my dns settings on my router to open dns for what its worth)

      • Hey, I was just typing a reply as I got a notification of your reply!

Everything was working perfectly on my Chromecast with Google TV via surfshark up until yesterday.

The info shared earlier seems to be for PC's but I only have a tablet.

Would you be able to share the best way of making these changes for a novice like myself?

        Thanks in advance…

        • im about to try to force the chromecast to use the open dns also, will let you know if that fixes things there also

          • @blues99: Thanks!

            • @Gigrantor: I have it working again on the chromecast with google tv - paramount must have started to detect via dns
I am just not sure if it is possible to do what I just did without a PC or laptop
I used the detroit server via wireguard just in the android TV surfshark app but only after I followed this reddit tutorial to force chromecast to use open dns as the dns resolver instead of the almost hardcoded google dns - using the DoT address dns.opendns.com
              https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comments/mrygvn/tutorial…
I also have open dns as the resolved on my router now

  • No luck at the moment, I might get a mate to try the above instructions with his laptop next time he drops by….

    • i found this - even better cause can be done via the phone - it appears like it should work with the instructions provided on your phone for chromcast even though it has MiBox as heading
      https://www.reddit.com/r/MiBox/comments/nas04z/how_to_set_up…

      • Thanks mate, I'll give it a try when I get home!

        • Cool remember to use the DoT address dns.opendns.com

        • success mate?

          • @blues99: I had a play around with it last night but with no success, will try again tomorrow….

          • @blues99: Success at last!

After all this talk of changing the DNS settings I decided to see if I could find an app in the app store on my Google Chromecast TV and I came across Smart DNS proxy VPN and it works!

It's totally free and even allows me to operate my overseas on it's own without the need to use my surfshark VPN which I had to pay for.

Thanks for all your help, I hope that this thing keeps working!

  • For those having trouble sideloading the app on Android TV /Chromecast /FireTV, simply use this Kodi addon: https://www.matthuisman.nz/2021/06/paramount-plus-kodi-add-o…
