  • Do you need the VPN to use the service, or just to subscribe?

    • Looks like you need it to watch as well.
I have DNS set up on mine so it just works automatically.

      • I don't have vpn just opera browser with vpn option, do you think it works?

        • I have never tried Opera browser, so I am not sure

        • +1

Depends which server Opera connects to. Often it is not the USA, but the europe.

      • Could you elaborate on how you managed to set this up? Currently just using a VPN to watch on Paramount.

        • Try the 14 day trial on Getflix (No credit card required)
Change the DNS of your wifi to manual on your choice of device and change regions via getflix

Here are the set up guides

          • @Pricebeat: Where do you select US Paramount+ in the dashboard? Don't see it in any of the channel regions and going to the Paramount+ brings me to the AU site.

            • @neil: Paramount is a new service so they haven’t updated it yet. I am unsure which one is working. May be set all of them to the US.

              • @Pricebeat: Got all channel groups set to US now but still redirecting me to https://www.paramountplus.com/au/. CBS.com, NBC.com seem to stream properly so not sure the issue. Getflix says it should work. 🤷‍♂️

                • @neil: I am unsure why. I have Apple TV, I have set up four apple IDs on it including one from the US. DNS is set via getflix. Mostly channel group A is set to US. I have downloaded Paramount app via my US Apple ID and it works fine.

            • +1

@neil: Try private window or clear cookies? Also what device are you trying it on?

              • @Pricebeat: Private, window, another browser, same. Turn on VPN and sends to US site. Same with app, doesn't work without turning on US VPN.

I'm wondering if there is a server that I need to block. Years ago to get Netflix US to work, you had to block a bunch of servers like Google.

                • @neil: May be block your browser from accessing location and also turn off your device location settings. Try clearing DNS if on windows via the run command ipconfig /flushdns

                  • @Pricebeat: So just to confirm, without a VPN, on a browser, you are sent to the US Paramount site, not the AU one?

                    • @neil: Ok so I just tried it on my laptop running windows 11. Opened Paramountplus.com in private window on chrome after setting up DNS and it did not redirect me. I was able to login with my US account.

Have you set up DNS properly? check on your Getflix account that you have configured your IP and DNS via getflix

                      • @Pricebeat: Yes, I've been using it for several years and everything else seems to work. If you have it working then must be something on my end or in my Getflix account (lifetime sub).

I noticed when on the VPN, paramountplus resolves to 195.181.168.133 (datapacket.com) and is pingable, without the VPN goes to 54.68.182.72 or 34.213.106.51 (compute.amazonaws.com) and is not pingable.

                        • @neil: I have the same problem. I am on a lifetime sub too. Could be something to do with the type of account we have. Hulu works for me with getflix.

                        • +2

@neil: Just to let you know, it works if you use a Getflix server outside of Australia, eg. Auckland 1 or 2.

@nanukenga you might be interested in this too.

                          • +1

@dazweeja: Oh wow. Just tried it and it works. Thanks so much.

                          • @dazweeja: you mean on the computer?
I don't think it'll work on an app-based device though like iphone cos it only downloads the AU version of paramount.

      • @Pricebeat

What do you mean by DNS setup?

        • See my comment just above yours

      • How and what to set in DNS? No need for VPN if DNS is set?

        • How and what to set in DNS?

          See my comments above.

No need for VPN if DNS is set?

Yeah no playing around with VPN. Set and forget

  • I signed up to this when it was briefly put on here as a deal a few weeks ago, I can't sign up for a Paramount account, I get the "Could not create your account, please try again later" error. I've tried different emails all sorts and nothing works. I use Nord VPN

    • I had the issue when I tried doing it previously. The workaround is to sign up for a US paramount plus account directly on the Paramount plus website. Leave the website when you get to the point of choosing a plan, then login via sportsline and login on paramount website with the account you created before.

    • I had that error too, it seemed the form didn’t like my single letter first and last name because it submitted successfully after I updated them.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Signed up no issues.

  • +1

    Worked for me, thanks OP

  • I've tried that also. First step is choosing a plan. Did the 7 day free trial, cancelled and it still gave me the same errors.

    • +1

You don't sign up for the trial. You leave the page before signing up for any plan. (So that others don't get confused. we are talking about a previous deal)

      • Great thanks working now - it didn't want to accept my florida postcode for some reason

  • do u just use a random USA address for the billing information?

    • Yea
      Mine is New street
      New York 10001

      • +10

Hey, that's where I live. Come and collect your mail will ya.

      • +3

My go to is always Beverly Hills 90210

  • Step 1 before sign up is picking a plan.

    • Yes, select a plan, sign up, go to payment page and leave before you enter any card details.

  • Get the same error, different browsers, different details, different US VPN cities!

  • Used Norton VPN
used old CC and now getting the card replaced
used Austrian Address but with US ZIP code
    used fake name :D

    thanks

    • +2

      That’s a very Ameropean solution

      • Throw another shrimp on the barbie!

  • +1

i used the old revolut single use CC

    • Same.

      • Debit card can be used. It so happens that my debit card (Visa) is expiring and my new one arrived recently. So i used my expiring one to got the sportslilne account activated. Then activated my new debit card rendering the old one useless. Not that it really matters as they won't charge it if we cancel before 22th Sept.

  • Excellent set of instructions OP. Great find - well done and thank you.

  • +1

coudln't find coupon… might be finished?

  • +2

    Worked thanks op

  • +6

Still happy with my years worth for $5.99 :-)

  • +2

I've done all the steps, got the six months extra, thank you OP. But how do I watch Paramount+ on my tv? Even with a VPN it won't let me download the app. Without the VPN, while I can download the app, it doesn't recognise my login credentials. Happening to anyone else?

    • Same here

    • Generally for smart TV or Google chromecast you need to run the vpn on your router if you can

    • You may need to sideload the apk file.

  • Code not working

  • +1

I'm getting an error message “Couldn't find Coupon”

    • Probably now uses the Foxtel algorithm, "if anyone is actually paying to join, sus, error code 404"

    • New code worked thanks OP

  • Gutted misser it

    • Yea i was in the middle of doing it. I turned on my Nord VPN, tried to create a new account on Paramount plus, entered a US zip code but it said it couldn't create an account or something.

      • +1

See my replies to beardo’s comments above

        • Ok thanks, managed to get it! However I did run into some difficultly trying to open a paramount plus account. I had to put in new zip codes and birthdays, then it worked. All good now thanks!

    • I just got it, you may have done it incorrectly.

  • I got 'Couldn't find Coupon' too

    • Updated coupon code

  • For those interested in long term can get 18 months for US$49.99 using coupon code GREEN for the yearly plan.

  • With the code JUMP, it only gave me 7 days free (after selecting annual plan) ?

    • +2

      Read step 7,8 and 9

      • Me… Jumping the gun

        Thank u! Worked a charm

  • +2

In case those expire, I see that in my account, "SNOW" is a valid code for 10 days

  • +2

Anyone know if we Can cancel now and still keep the service for the remaining period? Or will I need to put a reminder in my calendar for 6 months time

Edit: noticed this wording. I assume it means we need to cancel at end of 6 months

NOTE: Subscribers are only eligible for one free extension per user. Your subscription access is immediately terminated upon cancellation if all paid subscription time has elapsed.

    • Yea so I assume we should cancel, say on 21st Sept? Going to put a reminder on my phone

      • +1

make the reminder the 5th of September, as mine was only until the 6th.

        • Oppps my bad, yea 5th September

    • +2

I tried and unfortunately not - it removes the 6 months leaving just the 1 week free.

      • Thanks, I followed all the steps, created sportsline account - then went to paramount+, logged in via sports line - then on create an account, i get the error

Could not create your account, please try again later

        • The workaround is to sign up for a US paramount plus account directly on the Paramount plus website. Go to the Paramount website in a different tab. Select a plan, sign up, go to the payment page and leave before you enter any card details.

          • @Pricebeat: no Joy - still could not create your account

            • @Mentem: What was the error? there should be no issue with above

              • @Pricebeat: Could not create an account try again later

                • @Mentem: I had that error too, it seemed the form didn’t like my single letter first and last name because it submitted successfully after I updated them.

            • @Mentem: Try in private browser that fixed it for me.

  • Charged AUD 1.39 by sportsline. How to retrieve this?

    • +1

It is never deducted. In my case I used revolut and the payment was returned right away. It’s for verification purposes only.
