Ryzen 5000 prices are finally coming down, I think this is the cheapest for the 5600x so far with the exception of the previous Klarna deals

Typical. Bought it last week for 345…haha

    • I paid over retail at launch….although GCs made it less

  • Yeh they need to lower the price to free up space for X3D. Heard they've dispatched and will arrive at retail around end of March.

Would be nice if they below $300.

Yep. I think $299 shall be a fair price.

      • $299.99 then you got a deal

      • 299 should've been the release price, at this point of its life 250ish would've been a deal.

This should be a $270 part from release.

  • If it gets 75 off what I bought it for, I'll Lodge a price protection thing on my credit card haha

  • Will suss out the 'significant improvements to gaming' before making my mind up about the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

These days a "big" leap in CPU performance is not going to be something you'd notice without an FPS counter on the screen.

If you're really really into upgrading you might be able to justify getting the new line of GPUs when they come out, but for CPUs, most people should wait at least 5 years before bothering with a CPU upgrade.

"Big leap" hype translates to like 5% higher FPS or so at 1080p, and closer to 1% or 2% for higher res.

LOL, this new deal is better than the one I posted https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/686561

  • I hope to see 5800x to be below $450, and 5900x $600

    • Both already have. I'm expecting the 5800x will get closer to $400 soon enough though. For anyone buying a new rig there's no reason you'd buy the 5800x over the 12600K (which is $430 at shopping express), it's faster in pretty much every way. AMD need to go lower to compete.

  • Isn't the price reduction because next gen coming out soon?

    • The next gen Ryzens, the 6000s, have come out. But they're only for laptops. The next gen for desktops is the 7000s.

      • I know, was referring to the desktop models rumoured to be coming in the later half of this year

  • I expired this as Harris bumped the price up, this deal is better anyway https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/686561

  • How many bitcoins can i get out of this??
