        • 95.40 + 5.00 delivery - $50 voucher = 50.40.

          40 cents over $50 bucks.

Don't think you'll find anything that will end up free after voucher is applied…

        • ch4rgd that's $50.40 on top of the $50 discount. I think you've thought about applying the discount twice with the "40 cents over $50 bucks".

        • Sounded like they were asking what dozens come to under $50 after discount…$50.40 is about the cheapest AFTER discount.

No $4.92 a dozen deals available like last time.

    • Yeah Super Value Dozen went from $69.84 to $95.40 compared to an hour ago.

socketpuppet? joined today to post this?

      • +2

        Agreed.

      • +4

That'd be a sock puppet, not a socket puppet! LOL

    • +1

I should get a free wine case from Cracka, for this Advertising…
      :)

  • +1

I don't mind paying something for the wines. These people need to make a living so it does actually seem wrong to be getting things for free. I don't know what the current offers are, but when I joined there was also some free credit, so things were already cheap from the start.
For the mixed case, if you get the bottles for about $4-5 each, that's still pretty cheap. Remember, they don't owe us anything as long as the $50 vouchers are honoured.

    • +1

not really, since giving out the vouchers and then jacking up the prices is akin to a 50% off sale after doubling the shelf price, and is misleading practice.

      • It's not really the 50% off and then doubling up, otherwise all products would've gone up by exactly $50 at which the vouchers wouldn't do much at all.
That said, I do understand where you're coming from. I guess their downfall is the lack of terms and conditions. They should've provided terms and conditions with iSubscribe.

        • i'm sure they are happy with the publicity though, and we are still getting cheaper wine, to a degree. so everyone's moderately happy

    • +2

When you add something to your cart at an advertised price and then while you going thru the payment functionality its suddenly been jacked up in price then there is a problem.

The merchant can be expected to make a quid but the scenario above is wrong, with or with out a voucher.

  • -3

Actually, just checked and the cabernet is up for auction this Friday. Currently bidding at $2 / bottle.

    • If ou think it will sell for $2/bottle, you don't know how it works :-)

  • Waterproof or Wineproof? I know what I'll be drinking.

    • Backroom bin ends!? ;-)

    • That joke wasn't even funny.

Making fun of people's username is so 2001, mr. sock puppet.

  • +3

Jacking up the prices as soon as there's a run on the promo doesn't seem kosher to me. Not buying this time.

    • New Guerilla Marketing ploy! he he he :P

    • Seen prices go up as stocks go down at other wine bargain sites without a special deal - just supply & demand.

  • +2

Just bought another 6 wine for $2.70 delivered, bidding through auction on this link https://www.crackawines.com.au/auctions/2012-04-25/2011-jack…

    it's $6.95 per bottle now…

    Quantity Description Case Price Amount
1 2011 Jack Russell Wines Feisty Sauvignon Blanc
The name might be odd (no, it's not odd, it's feisty!) and the packaging may be hardly mainstream (actually, it sort of is in a way. Maybe. Sort of… $47.70 $47.70
    Delivery: $5.00
    - Credit: $50.00
    Total paid: $2.70
    GST Included in total: $0.25

    • Went to buy this but apparently 2 cases ended up being purchased, so it came down to $46.70 for 12 bottles. Don't think I'll cancel the one without the voucher, but otherwise at $6.95 it's free with the voucher.

  • The vouchers are valid until June. I am sure they will come down in the interim. In the meantime, drink the plonk you got from them last time….

You can set reminders on threads so if you put a reminder on this thread for late May, you can check prices then.

  • +1

I got my super value dozen 3 days ago from the previous offer. The Renmano River Breeze cab sav was okay.
I might hold on to this voucher til later (hopefully no-one will guess it and use it prior to me)

  • Hi, I'm wondering if I can use the $50 code twice (one voucher per order)?
Well, after Queensland Rail Holidays' subscription, I added another free travel subscription I like to read and then isubscribe sent me another confirmation email with different code.
After reading previous post (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68068), I got a bit worried to use more than one code even though I got two different codes - Z******* and H*******
Maybe I better stay not to be greedy…

      • just use paypal, they can't take your money…

Oh yes they can. As I have discovered, and found too late the reports on the previous deal.
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68068

        See screenshots posted as evidence.

    • The T&C's are quite explicit. Only one voucher or credit may be used per household. Anyone who has used both together or more than one voucher will simply be charged for the extra vouchers / credits used.

While we're prepared to honour the higher of these ($50 voucher) any further abuse of voucher stacking will not be tolerated especially given that abuse has been encouraged in this forum.

Our systems monitor all voucher usage and cross checks by email address, user names, delivery address, contact details, credit card/Paypal account and IP address - so registering under different accounts will be detected.

      • with all due respect i think the word " abuse" better suits the jacked up prices in your site( you might have good prices but when you instantly increase the price by 50$ then your voucher becomes useless) :)

      • +5

Although it's in your T&C that you will attempt to recover extra money from people who've bought goods from you, isn't that against consumer law in every state?

      • +5

Also, isn't it a bad idea to rack up a large amount of complaints with the Financial Industry Ombudsman, against your business, for having tried to charge extra amounts against customers?

You could end up with a scam watch listing from ACCC even :S

      • +3

While I agree that it's poor form for people to exploit voucher codes and breach your T&C's knowingly, I disagree that this has been encouraged in this forum. Users can and do say what they want, but OzBargains are not endorsing it. You cannot stop free speech.

Personally, I have used one code and have been impressed at your range of wines. I do find it interesting that your prices go up though and this is quite a negative should I choose to buy from you again. Why? Well, how do I know I am about to pay the cheapest price you have offered for a certain wine before?

Finally, if someone does breach your T&C's, the practice of charging them the additional $50 is worse than the original offence. I am no expert on consumer law, but this is just a really bad approach. A simple email to ask the user if they wish to cancel their order or pay the additional fee, or even just cancelling the order would be a much more customer focused approach.

My opinion only, take it or leave it.

      • +2

        Hi Cracka.

How do you store credit card information? I'm guessing this is not securely encrypted, if your 'systems' is able to pull it out and "cross check"…?

Also, a point about IP addresses, some IP addresses are widely used (i.e. my workplace of 200 people uses the one - two people could easily purchase wine with a voucher from that IP address in their lunch break), how can you accurately use IP address to determine a household / extract extra money from one of those people?

      • +2

Do you have T & C for suddenly jacking up prices just because we got a hold of legit coupons?

      • +1

        "Whodeanie" - back fired

"Cracka Wines" - your perceived subtly against OzB - back fired.

  • Anyone had the problem with putting in the voucher code paying it via credit card and then its charged you for the full amount?

    • yes, this happened to me. I sent an email to cracka to see what they could do.

bit annoyed as I had agreed to reduced price but was charged full price.

      • i sent an email as well, hopefully they reply before they deliver

  • +1

can you just buy 1 bottle?

  • -3

I purchased last week from Cracka using the coupon code and purchased a case of 2010 Beelgara Estate Circles Semillon Sauvignon Blanc at $4.99 a bottle (case of 6) and it came to just under $30.00 and with the $5 shipping I used the coupon and paid nothing. I thought their system would pick-up on this and cancel the order but they didn't. Since I placed my order that item has been removed from their website.

P.S: The wine was better then I expected for a bottle at that price.
Edit: I have now found it on the site and it is now $8.95 a bottle. HIGHWAY ROBBERY

    • +10

Dude, i know this is ozbargain, but you got wine for FREE. Delivery for FREE. Why go say "highway robbery" like they are crooks now? Of course they'll raise the price so they're not giving it away….They basically lost a bunch of money to honour the deal for you. Be somewhat grateful that they were that nice?

Hey worth checking out the T&C's.

      Vouchers & Credits
From time to time Cracka Wines may issue vouchers or credits for redemption against future purchases of wine. Each voucher or credit may only be redeemed once per household/delivery address. Cracka Wines conducts regular audits of voucher and credit usage and reserves the right to recover amounts owing from customers who redeem more than one voucher or credit per household/delivery address. Vouchers may not be used in conjunction with any other vouchers - strict limit of one voucher per order. Any terms and conditions on a voucher or credit apply and bind the holder of the voucher or credit. Vouchers and credits are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash. All vouchers and credits will have an expiry date, after which the voucher or credit will no longer be redeemable.

      • +2

These terms and conditions are very poorly worded, particularly in regard to whether vouchers and credit can be used together. They state that Cracka "reserves the right to recover amounts owing from customers who redeem more than one voucher or credit per household/delivery address" but this would seem to suggest that it is permissible to use a voucher AND some store credit together. This term is simply forbidding two vouchers OR two credit 'amounts' to be used together as far as I can see. I'm not sure this is what Cracka actually intends but the ambiguity is such that I don't think using the $25 store credit and the $50 voucher is actually in violation of the terms and conditions. Correct me if I'm wrong!

        • -1

I can offer some clarity on this.

The T&C's are quite explicit.

Hi Cracka, welcome to the site.

The T&C's open up one important question though. The 'one voucher' is per what? Can each household only use one voucher ever - i.e. if my first purchase uses a voucher I can never use a voucher again on Cracka. Or is it 'only one voucher per promotion'?

More likely the second, since you sent me a new voucher (EXTRA10) right after my first purchase with a voucher.

In that case, can you please clarify: is this a different promotion to the one you did last week? Can people who ordered with last week's voucher order a second case using this one?

        • +1

          Hi cracker,

That link does not say that it is a voucher or a credit. It just says "$25 OFF your first purchase - no strings attached."

          It didn't
look like this would be against the T&C's. Maybe it should say something along the lines of "a $25 credit for your first purchase - not valid with any other offer."

        • Duff5000 sounds like a credit to me

        • A credit with strings attached?

        • ambiguous T&C's are ambiguous T&C's

        • +4

Oh, your 'prepared to honour' the vouchers you have obviously organised to be distributed via isubscribe, you bloody well better be. You make it sounds like we are scaming you by using a coupon that you distributed. Idiots. I know where I WON'T be going to buy wine.

  • WOW now that is a good deal.

Just paid $25 for 12 x Banrock moscato delivered. (wife pays ~$10-12 for it)

    • how?

    • how did you get it for 25$ at $7.95 each x 12 = $95.40 - $50 voucher + $5 delivery = $50.40 mmm did you use the extra $25 voucher for signing up? hehehe

  • Used my voucher for an order that cost $46.70. It still wanted me to pay $3.30 which i found a bit weird. Anyways after the website asked me to pay the $3.30 I got an invoice saying thank you for the $46.70 payment!! I was quite disappointed, however have sent cracka an email and am waiting on a response.

      • Just order something for under $10. There's plenty on the site and you'll still get $40 off your wine.

not bad, pathetic attitude by them.

  • Followed directions/subscribed/ got great train journeys email/Only got 2 x offers and neither were crackawines-went to web site anyway and tried to order with isubsribe but told offer no longer available-Waste of my time!

  • I can not even find how to subscribe to isubscribe?

  • hey my voucher/code no longer works!! what gives? who said it is valid till june?? =(

    • Here is a copy of the T&C from isubscribe I got today.
      http://bit.ly/Id3gS7

      • My voucher worked today…. also the price on the mixed dozen is reduced again… less than $25 delivered

        • Be interested if its the same wine in the mixed dozen as previously advertised.

    • Yeah cracker wines had a sook and all the codes got cancelled. I wouldn't bother making a purchase from them as they upped all their prices, sometimes up to 50% to counter the voucher use that they signed up for. They are very untrustworthy.

      • Huh? You got a free voucher code then say they are untrustworthy?

Their prices are back to what they were on the weekend. You have nothing to complain about.

        • I think he explained the reason, before stating that they are untrustworthy.

      • man this reminds me of indian giving back in school days! ahaha i feel ripped off, so excited to purchase my wine, find out that they jacked up their mixed dozen and so i waited a few days since it says that the voucher is valid till june then bam they took it away from me and is no longer valid.. !!! zzzzz..

  • +2

    Got my vouchers code yesterday.
Cracka have dropped the price of the Mixed Doz back to $69 so was able to do
    Mixed Doz at $69.95 + $5 frieght -$50 voucher = $24.95

Thanks Cuek, they're an altruistic lot these OzBagainers who take the time to post
to allow others experience the thrill (and the chase!) of a good bargain!

  • RIPPED OFF!
Did not think this was possible - Paid by paypal with redirection to paypal website. Fortunately have screenshot of paypal, where I clicked to pay $62, but following email from paypal says $112, ie $50 coupon not applied.

The amazing thing is not that Cracka did this, but that it was possible for them to do this. ie I agree to one amount, they debit another. Even though I was using paypal website. Major security hole in Paypal?

Went to "Report a problem" on paypal, but only 2 options. I'd have to claim the transaction was completely unauthorised and I do not stand to benefit in any way.

Paypal is even more evil than I thought. What redress do I have?

    • OK, following multiple levels of fine print, I see they say one per person. And d'oh - it is at the top of this page - has it been edited? OK, so they can refuse the coupon, fine. But

      a) to accept it, then take more money, and

      b) paypal cooperated in this! How can we ever trust using paypal for online purchases again?
I thought paypal was the safer alternative to giving your credit card details to some new overseas online shop. But it turns out from this, that once you click OK on paypal, the website can take whatever amount of money they like.
Not just the amount that was displayed by paypal. This is serious.

And yes, I have the screenshot from paypal (not just cracka) to prove it.

      • If what you say is true it is serious, you can be sure PP will do something about it or their rep is on the line. I have never heard of them allowing the equivalent of overcharging but I have other thoughts on PP that are probably best kept for somewhere else.

      • I spoke to Cracka. It was too late to cancel, and they had not read my email. But they listened and will sort something out.

Paypal on the other hand just brushed me off with a form-letter, as expected.

  • +2

Ok, earlier I said I wouldn't be buying this time because the prices were jacked soon after this thread started. But I subscribed for the code anyway, three times at someone's suggestion - in case one of you guys guessed it or worked it out somehow and I'd have none. :)

Here's what happened. I put the codes away, 1st, 2nd and 3rd - and I didn't hide anything, my IP or email addy or home addy. And waited and looked, I wanted the mix at the lower price. And tonight, as I woke early, I had a look and it - https://www.crackawines.com.au/Mixed_Case/Super_Value_Dozen/… - was down again so that with the coupon I got the 12x case for a total of $24.96 AUD delivered to Bris. Does it ever get much better than that?

I get the mix because I don't know wine enough, nor drink enough to ever know it if someone doesn't tell me. So I can have a taste of something different and give away a few bottles too. Being on a pension it makes a big difference to some people, the lower cost.

Anyway, here's what happened when I went to enter the code/s. I used the 3rd one first and it was invalid, it didn't work. So I tried the 2nd one and it was dead, no luck. So I though surely the third, which was the first one I got, remember, wouldn't work either. But it did.

I believe the second two codes I got were probably invalidated as soon as I got them because they came to the same - whatever. But the first one I got was honoured, even though it could have worked against me the fact I 'acquired' three.

So all I had to do was hold the one code until the price was right for something I wanted and no big deal, smooth as silk transaction through PP.

    • I can see there have been strong words used on both sides here and I think that's what it comes down to on Cracka's side, get those words right. And on ours I think we need to be less grasping, knowing it will come around again. Who needs more than one cheap case a month anyway, don't answer please. :)

Maybe now Cracka have had a taste of OzB they can be prepped for us and knowing they'll be around again we'll all get a bite of the cherry without gobbling up the lot?

Do we want them back??? I do, and I'll be keeping an eye out for when I 'need' some wine.

  • Did anyone sign up for a code but didn't use it? If so can they please send me a code (for cracka)? Thanks

    • i signed up to get my code and i didnt even geta chance to even use it! it wont let me use it anymore!! =( so bad.

      • Ask for a refund from iSubscribe? Oh… I forgot… it was free.
