Free 90 Day Subscription to The Sizzle (Normally 2 Weeks)

6740

OzBargain has been good to me over the years, saving me loads of cash and giving me product advice in the comments. To repay the favour I am giving the OzBargain community a special offer to my semi-popular technology related email newsletter, The Sizzle. Every weekday I send an email out covering the latest tech news in a brief, entertaining and down to earth format. Been doing it for almost 7 years now!

Instead of the usual 14-day trial, OzBargainers can get a 90-day trial, absolutely free. No need to worry about forgetting the trial and paying accidentally as I don't ask for payment details, just your email address.

I've given promo offers on OzBargain before: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/thesizzle.com.au, but this is the best promo yet I reckon. There's probably 200+ OzBargain members that are paying subscribers of The Sizzle so if it's good enough for them to pay me, it's good enough for you to not pay and try it out for 90 days!

  • Pretty good. I also recommend [Hacker News] (https://news.ycombinator.com/). Everything there I always find pretty interesting. No crap..

    • Yep, I read Hacker News daily as well as one of my sources for what to add in each issue of The Sizzle. I've got around 120 RSS feeds I trawl through daily and distil down to an issue of The Sizzle.

  • Kudos to you Anthony.

    • Love ya jrvb42

  • Let’s get sizzled!

    • A big Sizzle-up with 2,227 others!

      • You need to buy sizzles on special!

  • Loving all the positive comments for once in Ozbargain but seriously how much are you paying for them? 😉

    • +1

That's the weird thing, they're paying me!

  • Really enjoyed this after last year's free trial. Highly recommend keeping up to date with the tech news with Anthony's style of writing.

    • Thanks - I never formally learned to write (I flunked out of uni and the only qualifications I have is a Diploma in Networking from 2005, hah) so it's nice to know people actually like reading my low class backyard writing style.

  • Sign up to The Sizzle & fall in love with receiving emails again.

      Email - the internet's cockroach.

  • Of all the newsletters and stuff that I subscribed to, the Sizzle is literally the only one I let through to my inbox. It's a quick read but always interesting without fail.

    • Game recognises game, thanks!

Anthony - just read the article you wrote back in 2013 about Litecoin farming - please tell me you did not sell your LTC for $3, or even for $6 :(
If you did, I hope the all-time high price of $430 doesn't haunt you too much!

    • +2

Mate, don't remind me. I could be a millionaire right now.
I converted my LTC to BTC back then and was holding around 13 BTC. I sold all the BTC for around $15,000. You can do the math if I kept that 13 BTC and sold at the peak last year.

  • Sounds interesting. Thanks bro. Have subscribed

The only thing I dislike about The Sizzle is that it follows Victorian public holidays so every AFL Grand Final Friday and Melbourne Cup day I patiently wait in my Gold Coast office until I realise that the bloody Victorians are having another piss up.

Seriously though, the Sizzle is a part of my daily routine in knowing what's going down in tech news and bargains, I love it.

    • The day before the grand final is the holiest day in Victoria thank you very much.

  • Not to be confused with Tony Martin's 'Sizzle Town'!

    • I think Anthony might be slightly more tech-enabled than the self-professed technophobe Tony Martin !!

    • The Sizzle got its name from a Get This sketch! Time is a flat circle.

  • Anthony, you seem to be replying to every comment on here. Even this one? :)
    (PS - subscribed!)

    • Yeah! Have a comment old mate.

Your business address appears to be a Domino's Pizza place, not sure if I'm appalled or impressed.

    • Not many people notice that, good spotting ;)

  • Footer makes the politics clear. Of all thing that might be considered important, this one wins as a declaration:

The Sizzle is created on Wathaurong land and acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia,

It's a nice gesture and costs me nothing to do so. It's literally the least I could do to support them.

  • It's free, nothing to lose. Just sub!

    • Yes! The risk is so low - if it sucks, just unsubscribe with one click in the footer of every email I send.

  • I discovered The Sizzle through a previous ozbargain post and I now can’t live without it. Getting that email notification is the best part of my day. Thanks Anthony!

    • You're welcome :)

  • +1 for this deal. Have been a paid subscriber to The Sizzle since 2016. I initially signed up because I had known Anthony from the MacTalk days and he was kind enough to give me some pointers many moons ago for a forum I was running.

Stayed a subscriber for the great content - reading The Sizzle is probably my second most productive form of procrastination!

    • Thanks mate!

Absolute legend, thank you and keen to try, but captcha got Ozbargain'ed :D

    • +1

Yep, I messed up the Captcha integration. It's working now so please try again :)

  • Thanks Anthony, but having trouble subscribing. Getting trouble with the captcha " ERROR for site owner: Invalid key type". anyone else having trouble?

    • +2

Sorry about that - I could see a lot of bots signing up (like 100 people signing up at 3am, wtf) so added a Captcha to try and limit the spam, but stuffed up the integration. It's all good now if anyone wants to try again.

  • Wow - given the upvotes and all the (hopefully not coerced) recommendations, how could any ozbargainer resist?

    • The Sizzle is absolutely irresistible.

  • well done Anthony.. i learn a lot from the sizzle every day.
    keep up the excellent work!

  • Thanks Anthony, but too bad its not the The Sausage Sizzle :P

  • I signed up with this promo

What does a paid subscription do does it mean i will continue receiving the newsletter and have access to a forum? Anything else I've missed? Will be happy to subscribe I think

    • That's right - when the 90 days is up the emails stop and I'll ask you to pay to continue. Once you pay, you'll also get access to the subscriber's only forum (~500 members, not heaps of posts a day, but they're decent quality posts).

  • should we have received an issue yet if we signed up last week?

    • Yep! I just sent out today's issue about 10 min ago. You should have received yesterday's at least. Send me an email ([email protected]) from the address you signed up with and I can sort out what's going on.
