    $15 per month?

    • +3

Yeah, title needs fixing, "$15 for 55GB for 6 Months" is wrong. It's $15 "per month" for 6 months.

      • Ah, was going to jump on this. Have dozens of the 1c kogan 20gb sims to run dual for data. Just need a cheap sim with calls

    optus network is a joke.

Works fine for me. I guess it depends on your location.

    • I find it to almost always be better than Telstra, in my dual SIM phone, Optus is much more likely to show strong signal.

      • The network signal is alright however the internet speed sucks. Buffers while loading videos.

According to previous posts and experiences of other ozbargainers, it appears Circles doesn't have a great reputation.

For those who are still using Circles.life:

    • How easy are they to deal with nowadays? (e.g. easy to cancel, support, porting issues)
    • Do they still over report your data usage? (e.g. actual 50GB used, but they say you used 80GB in the same period)
    • How's the reception compare with your previous telco/provider?
    • Any other feedback or commentary on the matter?

    Thanks in advance.

My experience has been good so far, on a 48gb/$8/month for 12months. They mistakenly overcharged a few dollars on my first bill but that got rectified fairly quickly via online chat.
I saw lots of comments about the credit checks, but I do not see one from Circle, I am checking Finder and Credit Simple reports.
Another occasion: ordered a plan online, sim received by mail, cancelled via chat (never activated the sim/plan), and never got charged for anything.

      • Credit check surely is there , I can find in my credit report even though I just bought the sim and not activated it!

        • which credit report are you using?

      • Is it still possible to get this $8/month deal?

Current user - Groupon $9 total price for 6mth @15GB/mth & many times past user of Circles ($1 100GB/mth) - without any issues. Use Circles because of the cheap Data.

But, as I've explained in many Deals, care & understanding is necessary before signing up to this month-to-month postpaid service!
First check the quite different t&c (see useful FAQ).

See discussion in above Deal regarding data use, how to get best from these Circles Deals, etc.

Data reporting has not been a problem - I set limits so don't exceed. Reporting is delayed up to 3hr, so be aware of that if using a lot of data (streaming). Data reporting has been accurate - based on data used by phone.

A few complained they had problems in the past & frequently neg Circles Deals because of it…
(Not understanding this is a different type of service, using it like they did with prepaid service - which if was set up correctly, turns of Data when limit runs out & is easy to port out after service ends)
They Ported out late on last day of month (as we do with Prepaid), but Port did not complete until 1st of next month - costing another month of service!! Failure to pay has then caused problems as can't port number with outstanding bill… required complaint to TIO to resolve!!!
Reading others comments about this, my use is always as 2nd SIM in phone. I notify in app ahead of time to terminate service. Worked well every time.

First month of use is charged at normal rate, pro rated - so I sign up on last day of month costing under $1 (31c last month). That was the only charge beyond what was advertised over many uses.

Reception is same as Optus (good) - varies with location.

      • It's unclear but assuming it's what you've done, so how do you join multiple times in a row with the same number and using a discount? All the ones I've seen say once per account, and to sign up with a code requires porting in, so seems you can't join a new deal while still with CL? Is there a way to continue using the number you have with CL but with a new discount deal?

        • Port out to a JB Telstra deal, if or when good enough; if not good enough, port out anywhere for a short time and port back in to CL.

How easy are they to deal with nowadays? (e.g. easy to cancel, support, porting issues)

porting out was easy for me, no unexpected bills so far as experienced by some others. Support was sh*t though, took days to answer simple q's (email).

Do they still over report your data usage? (e.g. actual 50GB used, but they say you used 80GB in the same period)

no, not that I monitor the usage anyway

How's the reception compare with your previous telco/provider?

depends on Optus network, so almost the same as Optus reception.

Any other feedback or commentary on the matter?

I ported out after my promo plan ended because of the sh*tty support.

      • Support via chat in app has been much better in my recent experience.

        • for simple stuff, maybe.

They overcharged me a few times and when I asked on chat, I was told it will be followed up via email (billing issue), waited for a few days for the reply and have to repeat my issue again and that took another few days to be "resolved". By the next billing date, I was still overcharged because apparently the support person misunderstood my problem and finally just said they couldn't fix it. bloody waste of time!

          • @r0xz: Having read others problems with billing issues - I have totally avoided them over many sign ups with Circles by understanding t&c! Never been overcharged.

Circles take a very legalistic & intransigent approach with billing & payment. Seems TIO is only way for others to resolve.

My queries about new service were dealt with promptly. They offered to solve my problem - better than expected.

  • Are there any cheaper data Sims?

  • Tried 3 months before, horrific experience, expecting thousands of emails from them…

    • You agree to t&c when you enter into month-to-month postpaid service contract with Circles.
If you breach that contract, don't make payments, they will persue you. Complaining to TIO is only remedy.

Guess that's why you get the thousands of emails, which I don't after signing up many times. Never had a problem.

As I've frequently recommended in Circles Deals - read the t&c & understand the agreement first, before signing up to any postpaid phone service!!

Otherwise play it safe & go prepaid!

  • Last time I joined it, my personal information ended in wrong hands

    • That can happen with anyone.
All it takes is for a customer rep to not really care about security

  • do they do ESIM?

    • Hey papskies! At this moment, we don't support Esim yet. Its something that our team is working on getting and we'll surely update you as soon as this feature is already available on our services. Cheers

      • Thanks for the update :)

  • Just wanted to double check does "Unlimited Talk and Text" mean unlimited free calls and text to all numbers within Australia?

    • All standard numbers, it does; you never get blanket all call types — there are premium numbers for instance.

Thought I'd put this into every running deal from this company as it looks like these guys really want to do more business.
Well, gather round folks and listen to the one who has been through the hell and high water with this company

They will try to rip you off on every opportunity.
Terrible customer service and always predatory behavior toward their customer
Personal experience - overcharged for data use over the limit at a ridiculous rate without any warning or opportunity to purchase an additional package.
All extra traffic is billed in 1MB increments (even is you used 0.1 kb)
Raised a ticket then a complaint, explained the situation - received NO support, NO detailed usage, NO resolution.
    BEWARE!

    • Never had a problem after many signups to Circles Deals here.

On Circles again & happy with it (for the cheap price).

But has been costly for those who don't understand what they are signing up to!

So read the frequent advice on how to get the most from Circles at least cost!
Regularly posted advice over years - pity you didn't read it.

Understand this is a month to month plan, port ot give notice of termination of service rarely.

First month is pro rata of full charge - so activate on last day of month to minimise the extra charge.

Check out their FAQ to understand billing etc before signing up.

Check data usage regularly if using large amounts of Data & set limit below monthly allowance.

Customer service through chat on App worked well. They've improved over the years I've used Circles.

  • Don't fall for it guys I went with circles.life and the worst regret of my life.

I had chosen the option of 100gb but was given a 25gb plan, reached out to support and they advised me that they can't change the plan until 1 month later but well give me extra data to help me next month I get a bill shock of $81 dollar and after many chats and been told they well waive the $81 I get an email saying only they well waive $10 and are refusing to let me speak to a manager.

Better go somewhere else, customer service is the worst and many hidden fees and issues.

  • Is it now $20 for 55GB?
