Nvidia has done this before, GTX 1060 is faster than GTX 980, 1070 is faster than 980 Ti.

@sbtswr: The cards are already at max size, 3080s are so big they don't fit in all cases, not to mention 3090 and the power draw needed , if you increase that performance you need to increase power as well, not all new tech is like amd CPUs unfortunately, we wait and see , I recon it will be a modest increase in RT performance and maybe 10-20% model on model
@botchie: Don't forget that Nvidia is moving to TSMC 5nm which is much more efficient than the Samsung 8nm currently in use, and lots of rumours are already saying the 4090 will consume up to 600W just so that Nvidia can keep up with AMD's multichip design on their new flagship. Some third party air coolers on the 3090 can already cope with 500W TGP.
Shrinking from 8nm -> 5nm, and double the power draw, 2x the 3090 performance is certainly not out of reach
The AMD 7600XT will be 1.2x faster then a RTX3090
Not sure about Nvidia though as they are sticking to single die GPU's AMD is going multi chip like Ryzen.. don't expect to see 3080 level of performance from a RTX4060…

Can you still do Ebay GC + Afterpay?
Use Ebay giftcards from Shopback to reduce the Afterpay amount.
So if it was $860 after the 15% discount, you could buy $850 of Giftcards and use Afterpay on the remaining $10 for the full discount. But you can't giftcard the full amount or else you'll lose the Afterpay code discount.

I do think there were some more compelling 3060 Ti & 3070 Ti offers currently available, but it was only a few weeks ago 3070s were selling for $1400+, and ASUS ones even dearer still! So, all in all, pretty good deal.
@iseeyou1312: Cheers! My logic ended up being that the 3070 ti's extra power consumption put it at the limits of my current (old) 650W PSU and this is a nicer card.
So it's about the fastest I will get on this PSU. Set and forget for the next few years.

yes it should be fine at 1440 res but may be limited at 1080p, I have a 3600 and rtx3070 at 1440 which is good for most games,

To those who are considering 3070 and 3070ti in today's price.
3070 to 3070ti performance is ~5% better while the price is ~9% dearer.
This is right, but thing that gets me is the whopping 70watt power increase for such a small performance gain!
