        I added to the Money app and the $5 is surely a Wish card instead of Woolworths GC

          Not necessarily, I've had a Dan Murphy's show up on the app as a Wish card previously - which was not redeemable at Woolworths

          So the app showing a Wish card doesn't mean its usuable other than where the card is for (in this bonus offer - Woolworths only)

      It is not a WISH eGift Card.

      There is a bug in the Woolworths Money App, where it will erroneously display them as WISH eGift Cards.

      For you reference, WISH physical gift cards and eGift cards start with:

      • 6280 0030 9
      • 6280 0031 0
      • 6280 0055 5
      • 6280 0055 6

      If you don't believe me, you can try to redeem the Woolworths Bonus Store eGift Card at BIG W or EG or BWS or Dan Murphy's or ALH Group venues. You'll find that it does not work. (I tried this at BIG W and EG the last time Prezzee did a Woolworths Bonus Store eGift Card deal.)

          I attempted to redeem a Woolworths Bonus Store eGift Card at a physical BIG W store, so my guess is that in-person transactions with that gift card are limited to Woolworths.

        All Bonus Store eGift Cards from Woolworths Group have a three month expiry.

        Woolworths Group's Returns gift cards have a 99 year expiry.

        Every other Woolworths Group gift card should have no expiry date.

    Keeps saying my card is declined for me, I've used 5 different cards. Yes, I have enough funds in them.

    UPDATE: I paid through PayPal with no issues. Looks like they have a problem with using the card directly.

            @Craze: I store Coles cards in Google Pay, but no real-time updating of balances. Someone posted a while back that they stored their Coles cards In Stocard but I haven't worked out how to do this - so it's Google Pay for now.

              That may have been me, although quite a few of us swear by Stocard!

              I haven't worked out how to do this

              • Open Stocard.
              • Add a card.
              • Search for Coles in the list of retailers.
              • Either scan the gift card’s barcode or input the full gift card number (which is the crazy long gift card barcode number starting with 980) into the card number section.1
              • I usually use the description field to denote the gift card type, PIN and current balance.
              • Tap on Done.

              I use the Coles retailer option in Stocard to store Coles gift cards, Coles Group gift cards, Coles Group & Myer gift cards, and Coles Groceries & Returns gift cards.

              1. I just tested adding a Coles digital gift card number starting with 627340 into the gift card field, and after I tapped done, Stocard automatically added the 13-digit gift card number prefix. However, I also tried adding a Coles Group & Myer gift card number starting with 627335 and it did not add the 13-digit gift card number prefix, which likely means that checkouts at Coles, Myer, Kmart, Target, etc won’t recognise that barcode as a gift card barcode. That’s why I suggest you add the full gift card barcode number (or scan the barcode) to be on the safe side. ↩

                  @Charlie Dont Surf: Several reasons:

                  • I don’t use Google Pay on my Samsung phone. I have previously tried using multiple cards stored Google Pay on my Samsung at Ampol, Woolworths and Coles, and they all returned weird errors on the EFTPOS terminals. Ever since, I have been using Samsung Pay instead, and it is been (nearly) flawless. The only exception to this is Ampol (where Samsung Pay is hit or miss, but it is better than Google Pay, where that is completely miss). Also, MST is a killer feature that will save your sanity if you travel through a country where a lot of EFTPOS machines still don’t support contactless payments (e.g. New Zealand). Consequently, if I don’t use Google Pay as my mobile wallet, there’s no reason to use it to store gift cards.

                  • Stocard allows me to back up all stored gift cards to my account and retrieve them at any time. That means that when I move over to another Android phone or iOS, I won’t need to re-add all my loyalty cards and gift cards.

                  • Stocard allows me to scan a gift card barcode when adding it to the app. This is a time-saving feature I use a lot, particularly when I obtain a physical gift card.

                  • Stocard warns you if the gift card number is in the incorrect format for that retailer. When I did a test with Google Pay just before writing this comment, I actually used a Woolworths Supermarkets gift card number (by accident) to test adding a Coles gift card, and Google Pay did not alert me to the fact that the number I entered was in the wrong format.

                  • I find it annoying that Google Pay stores my (Australian) Flybuys card is under the Coles logo, whereas my Everyday Rewards card is stored under the dedicated Everyday Rewards logo. I can definitely see myself falling into the trap of accidentally bringing up my Flybuys card when I intend to bring up a Coles gift card when I’m at a checkout.

However, you can only store ten gift cards at once in the Woolworths Money app, plus the app does not always correctly update the balance when I request an update.
