ASRock Challenger Pro / Gigabyte EAGLE AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB OC Graphics Card $769 Delivered @ BPC Technology

330

Another mediocre graphics card deal - this time for the red-spice mid-tier 6700 XT.

$30 cheaper than the last deal as miners cash out and space needs to be cleared in the dumpster.

Comes in two sub-par flavours at the same $769 price-point, despite inflated RRPs of $999 and $1379 on nearly identical cards: ASRock or Gigabyte.

Performance is near identical between the two (especially since manual OC is a must anyway) but I chose the ASRock for the third display port over HDMI and sharper edges on the cooler shroud for better shrapnel dispersion and penetration upon overheating.

This sits between the 6600 XT and 6900xt while the 6800 remains incognito.

Not too bad of a price - maybe post this deal seperately
It has pretty bad reviews (2.3 / 5 on Product Review)
I can't tell the model the HDD inside to be able to do proper comparisons of cache, RPM and SMR/CMR for price compare
      No delivery is painful

  • Knowing that I paid almost double for this six months ago …

And while it looks 2 slot, it's actually just over 2 slot. You won't fit another GPU, but you'll fit a regular PCI-E card.

    • But you had 6month fun !

      • That depends on how much a person spends time gaming.

How does this graphics card compare to the 5700xt?

    • +4

      30-40% faster, 15% less power, 12GB vs 8GB

      Have a read.

      • I did upgrade during the mining boom by trading in 5700xt to 6700xt. It runs a lot cooler and quieter as well.

But I find if you're paying this price you're generally not upgrading every year.

  • I'm looking to upgrade to the 7700xt or 7600xt at end of year

These numbers are from the latest Hardware Unboxed 12 game average benchmarks for 2022 (https://youtu.be/oBDFtJ4lR2c?t=463). It doesn't take into consideration Ray Tracing, DLSS, etc I am aware 3k res isn't a thing, but I averaged the 1440p and 4k resolution performance stats. I personally run a 1440p ultrawide, so 3k is about right for me.

the 8Gb vram aside, i think the 3060Ti is a better value.

    • According to the excellent $/3kFPS rmh has provided your are correct, however getting stock at that price is hard, but probably just a short waiting game.

      • Hardware unboxed did a comparison recently and that was their recommendation in the end

      • thanks brenwildman, it was less than a month ago we saw the 3060ti's at the low 700's.. but ill be sure to update future tables when this becomes too old and irrelevant. I see it's going around $769 atm, but stock yeah…….

I'd suggest avoid asrock GPUs. Too many problems.
    RX 6600 dead.
RX 6600 XT lots of crash/ wont load driver.

  • For RX 6700 XT, I think 736 is a fair price
