  • Pretty cool, just started using the debit card today

  • Paid about three days ago still no points but pretty easy to setup

  • +1

Made a purchase today for this deal
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/695977

Hopefully I get the extra points.

    • I did the same; have enough time to do another transaction if the 8K doesn't show up from purchasing Special.

  • +1

    where to find this?

    • In the rewards tab of the app, you don't need to activate it it seems

      • +1

It's not under my rewards tab. Probably because I open the account today?

        • Has it appeared for you yet? I just opened my account today and I don't see it under Rewards.

          • @GimmeCashback: Nope. The open account points hasn’t credited to me yet as well.

  • +2

Hmm I do not see it in the rewards tab.

  • +2

Is it targeted? I can't find the offer.

    • It's not in mine either. I've been using Apple Pay with it since I opened the account in late Feb. I guess they figured they don't need to push me to use it as I already am.

This is my first account I just opened it today and I don't see this offer in the rewards tab.

Used Google pay to get the discounted gift card here earlier https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/695977 . Wonder if it'll track for me (not sure when this promotion started).

  • Nice, points already credited. I signed up earlier this week and been using the card thru Apple Pay without even knowing about this deal.

Virgin never gave me 5000 points for opening bank account neither $100 for buying car insurance.

    • +1

Well I suppose you should complain about it here instead of getting them to fix it

  • I did not get the points

    • +1

Think the offer only started on 22nd May.

Points will be allocated within five (5) business days of a settled purchase being made.

      • Don’t you mean April?

        • Yeh sorry, getting a bit ahead of myself. End date is 22 May.

Made a purchase with Apple Pay on 22/4 and still haven’t got points, anyone else?

  • Have you received your points yet?

Still nothing for me. I sent a message via chat on the app yesterday too - no reply.

    • Wait until COB today.

      • Still nothing

        • Send them a chat.
          I also did so.

          • @Iluvfreebies-freeDel: As I said, I sent them a chat yesterday but got absolutely no reply.

So I just called them. Waited for 30min before someone answered.

EDIT: I assume you haven't got the points too then?

            • @proudwanderer: I did not get the points too.
I have send them a chat. They usually reply in 24 hours.
Where you able to get in touch with someone over the phone?

              • +1

@Iluvfreebies-freeDel: Yes I was. They claimed I wasn’t “eligible” so I challenged them to explain to my “WHY” I wasn’t eligible and what is the eligibility criteria.

They couldn’t come up with an answer.

Eventually said they will “send off an email” to get the points manually credited and I’ll hear back within 5 business days.

Doesn’t fill me with confidence. Will see what happens in 5 business days.

What a hassle to go through for 1,750 points.

                • +1

@proudwanderer: No reply from them. I guess we are not getting the points.

                  • +1

@Iluvfreebies-freeDel: I have not gotten one single response on that secure chat - it’s pathetic.

3 days since my first message. Not one single reply. I have sent follow up messages too.

I don’t even know why they have the chat at all. When you call you’ll probably have to wait 40min but at least you get a response rather than waiting days talking to yourself.

  • +1

Sounds like this was a targeted offer. I jumped into it, but I'll admit that I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in my app. I could try and push for the points via customer service, but I'm exhausted after a week of dealing with CS at Optus and Boost!

  • Double points for transactions of $2+ for the next few weeks. Will definitely beat the yield on HSBC cashback for any small purchases - haven't done the math yet but guessing the line is at around $5.

Would I pay individually for each mushroom in a bag? After missing out on the points from this thread….quite possibly. Look out for me.

  • Was able to open an account, complete the $100 spend requirement and received 20000 points automatically. Thanks OP

  • Chat finally replied and said they sent it to another team to investigate why Apple Pay bonus points weren’t added and to wait another 5 business days.

    • When did they reply to you?

    • Not a whisper for me.

First inquiry to the chat was sent on 2/5 with multiple follow ups since then. Not a single reply. Nada.

Never have I ever experienced a “CHAT” with no reply. Usually it is within 24-48 hours at most.

I’m talking to a brick wall.

I only got a reply by calling (and waiting 40min on the phone) - to which I got the same answer as JHoliday - sent to another team and to wait 5 business days.

Looks like another call is in store for me - since the chat is non-existent.

  • Just seen this today, thanks, upvoted. So with 20k SUB for each of us (OH & I), 5k for one referring to the other and 1.75k each for this, 48,500 points for very little, not a bad return on time invested!

  • Anyone received their points yet?

    • Nope :(

      • So they finally got back saying not eligible because it was done via Visa not Apple Pay. It was 100% done by Apple Pay.
