Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 128GB $899 ($747 with Price Match) with Telstra $69/mo (12Mo Contract, + Bonus $200 GC) @ JB Hi-Fi

1461

Edit 4: thanks to J Man for the photo, here's the advertised offer: https://ibb.co/rQN9Wc9

Edit 3: here's some tips:
1. Be assertive with the price match, other members on ozb have reached out to customer service after purchasing an item and price matched with Amazon and have been reimbursed for it.
2. If telstra rep 1 declines port in credit move on to another rep
3. Remind JB rep that you are still purchasing handset and would still be entitled to the $200 accessories gift card.

Edit 2: It was confirmed by multiple JB staff that they would indeed price match the Amazon AU price. Additionally, this is not a $950 gift card, its a credit. I still had to purchase the handset for $747 which still entitled me to the $200 bonus gift card. I am not sure if everyone will have the same success but none the less i successfully executed this offer today. I suggest that rather than calling up the store you just go in and talk the representative.

Edit: Ok so monthly data is 100gb, have spoken to Telstra rep and managed to have $20 port in credit applied to account.
Final deal savings 12 Months $49 Per Month 100gb, S22 Ultra 128 GB 747 Outright with Price Match and Bonus $200 after sales gift card.

$20 port in credit - https://ibb.co/5vydYzW
outright cost - https://ibb.co/SRqtQPQ

128 GB Deal title is a handful but seems best value option at the moment given the price reduction and bonus offers Just did this myself, not sure when this deal expires.

Step 1. Sign up to the $69 per month Telstra plan for 12 months 100gb per Month. (possible port in credit too, will try soon) get $950 credit towards S22 Ultra (not sure if this includes the other s22 series handsets) Given the best we have had in the past is a $500 gift card this is insane value.

Step 2. Price Match Amazon AU current discount - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09Q9GLLLC

Total out of pocket cost: $747

Bonus $200 JB Hi-Fi gift card after purchase.

Trade in bonus wasn't an option.

Deal Update

Comments from users indicate that JB Hi-Fi Staff are no longer giving customers a $200 Gift Card when purchasing the Galaxy S22 Ultra at a discounted price (when bundled with 12 month Telstra SIM plan). The deal is marked expired as such, however the Galaxy S22 Ultra discount offer will continue to run as indicated on the photo until Wednesday 27 April).

The original deal title also referred to an instore negotiated deal (price matching with competitor store) — the price has been updated to reflect the advertised price of $899.

      • Oh I got to $1500 and took the $200 gift card away to get to $1300s(took the figure from another commenter.)

        Edit:
        $69x12 =828
        747+828=1575-200

    • So other than the OP, this deal is not obtainable to anyone. They even have the terms stated that the $200 gift card is not stackable with any other offers. Not sure if it's a deal then.

      • If you get the $200 offer and can't spend it on the plan it's still good. JB credit is basically cash which you can spend once a need arises (eg Christmas gifts, game release or whatever)

        • No, you won't even get the $200 gift card full stop.

          • @solitude: Ahhhh that sways me back to the trade in deal.

      • +3

All i can say its worth a shot. Ive been eyeing off the S22 ultra for weeks and have reguarly been checking ozb for deals and going into JB to see what they had on offer. It all just came together for me today and i got a great deal out of it.

        • What phone did you come from Spenny? I'm literally upgrading just for the sPen(already own a s21U and it is a great phone).

      • Correct. Just subscribed to this offer at JB Marsden Park. $200 gift card is only applicable on outright purchase. OP was lucky that some ill-informed JB staff got his this deal šŸ˜¬

      • Actually it is obtainable, multiple people confirmed. When escalating with management price match and bonus gift card was approved. Seems like the ones declinign the offer only did so because they did not know better.

    • if you are considering reselling on your own as an option, I would use Samsung tradeup and not return the phone. ($500 credit - $60 admin fee = $460 net discount). this also gives you free samsung care which I would recommend 100000%. and then you can just resell yours on ebay and remain on your same phone plan.

      • Good call, I couldn't seem to get the Samsung care discount when combining it with the trade up, we're you able to do it?

        • Probably ask someone on the Samsung deal. Unfortunately I haven't tried it now as I already got mine during launch.

          • @kazer: I think this time you donā€™t need a code like when S22 series launch. Itā€™s is build into the order cart. Add Samsung care when ordering and the final screen should have that $148 taken away.

I do not under stand why people keep suggesting not send the phone back though as the T&C clearly say they can revoke the credit. Then also the risk involve in selling via eBay/Gumtree. My opinion for trade in is you canā€™t win everything, do it properly and just enjoy the discount.

    • Just don't forget that if you sell for 800 on eBay, you are left with 700 as eBay will take 13%.

      • That's not the Ozbargain way to sell on eBay. Advertise the phone on Gumtree. You then get asked if you want to advertise on eBay with zero final valuation fees. Just pay listing fee. You can do this twice in one month.

    • Your thinking is very organised.. if that was me

"Via Samsung Trade in my s21, wait.. do we still have milk? .. ultra and buy the s22 ultra for $649 from,
Shit. Where do i get somber stone bell 2 again?.. Samsung. I pay $20x12 a month via Aldi, best chocolate ever!! = $240+649=849 out of pocket after 12 months"

  • What do you have to say to get the port in credit?

Is it something advertised or discretionary customer service thing that's not guaranteed?

Also are you signing up to telstra $69 in the jb hifi store or via telstra itself or how?

    • +1

I signed up for a $69 Sim only contract last month.

I literally messaged support via Telstra chat today and they added the $20/month port in credit and even issued a $20 refund for the first month.

I just told them I was supposed to get the $20/month port in credit and followed it up with JB hi-fi however they said to contact Telstra support. Took all of 3 minutes.

@ash460 did it on the Samsung S22+ series for $900 credit, so $749 for S22+ 256GB

  • hi, am i understand this promo correctly?
    - sign up for the $69 per month Telstra plan for 12 months 100gb per Month.
    - the $950 credit come with the plan? (does anyone has the weblink or just in-store?)

    • can this $950 credit be used on Pixel 6? or just S22 phones?
  • +1

Quick question: Where do we go to see the Amazon price match? I cant see any discounts on the amazon AU page???

  • +3

I just got this deal at JB Marsden Park.
    - $200 GC isnā€™t included as its only applicable to outright purchase of S22 Ultra.
    - They refused to price match Amazon, so that can be a hit and miss too.

  • +1

The title of this deal should be re-named. It's clear the $200 gift card will not be included. Amazon price match is also being refused too.

    • I price matched it and got the gift card today, the staff seemed to know what they were talking about and werent new. Others might have the same success.

  • +1

where is it being advertised on Amazon for that price?????????

  • +2

perhaps we should list down the outlets that are willing to price-match + provide the $200 gc?

  • I think this is a troll post. No one has explained where the original $950 price match comes from

    • +4

what price match?? its a credit as said in my post…

      • -4

Okay. I think your post is confusing. Can you please list down the steps. Thanks

  • +10

Lol this is literally just OP being super lucky, somehow managed to price match amazon which does not happen usually for jbhifi. $20 port in credit ive seen rarely happen. Plus bonus gift card is not included as part of jbhifi Telstra port in deal

    • -1

Just because YOU canā€™t get a deal because of your own lack of effort (or giving up without even trying), donā€™t neg the OP for sharing a deal which plenty of other OzBargainers will be able to obtain!

I have never had JB Hi-Fi fail to price match products sold by Amazon Australia or a manufacturerā€™s official Australian sales channel on Amazon.

The iPad Pro 11-inch Iā€™m using now I got through an awesome JB/Telstra deal, and when I got home I checked the price of them same model on Amazon - it was $110 cheaper ($1449 vs $1339) than the price listed on my JB receipt, so I sent them a support ticket and they mailed me $110 gift card.

Thank you for sharing this excellent deal @Spennyrich, I appreciate it!

      • +1

Thanks, there are multiple bonuses to be had with this. I am just sharing what I was able to obtain. There will be someone who will take this further no do doubt with some gift card discounts and statement credits.

    • +1

this comment should be removed, a large number of Ozb's have had success with this deal and even when they were declined they had success after escalating with management.

  • +1

How'd you apply for the port in credit? What did you ask for from the customer service team?

    • +2

      I asked for it

    • +2

I signed up for a $69 Sim only contract last month.

I literally messaged support via Telstra chat today and they added the $20/month port in credit and even issued a $20 refund for the first month.

I just told them I was supposed to get the $20/month port in credit and followed it up with JB hi-fi however they said to contact Telstra support. Took all of 3 minutes.

  • +3

Got the deal even though the $200 giftcard or price match were unavailable. $900 for phone. When I got home, got on chat with telstra and asked about a port-in credit, surprisingly was able to get $20 port in credit for 12 months with no issues. Not as crazy a deal as OP, but still fairly decent for an upgrade.

    • +1

      nice work!

    • +1

I am right now on chat with Telstra and they are insisting that since this is a JB Hi-Fi deal, I need to reach out to JB Hi-Fi support team to get the $20 port-in credit. I know they are wrong. Can you confirm what did u ask them to get the $20 port-in discount?

    • +4

Submit a support request to JB Hi-Fi of type ā€œProduct & price enquiriesā€.

Include your the JB Receipt No. (which can also be found in your JB account under My Account > Purchases > ā€œIn-store Receiptsā€) for the phone you purchased and a link to the exact same product on Amazon Australia that you want them to price match. Make your case politely but firmly for a price match in the form of a gift card. Donā€™t mention the price match was already refused in store.

Be prepared to go into the store to collect your gift card.

Always works for me, so good luck!

      • +1

        Thanks mate.

      • Finally, someone with some sense.

      • +1

I got this reply from JB about price matching the S22. "Iā€™ve had a look at the listing Amazon has for the White S22 256gb and unfortunately we canā€™t price match with their listing due to the stock being non Samsung genuine.

Amazon is sourcing their stock from a place called ā€˜3 Brothers Mobile.ā€™ Due to this we canā€™t confirm the warranty details of that listing"

I just looked at 3 Brothers website, it says the phone is Australian stock? Thoughts?

        • Personally, Iā€™d persist by explaining that you would expect them to price match ā€˜3 Brothers Mobileā€™ as it is Australian stock and you are disappointed by their response as long-time JB customer etc.

I admit Iā€™ve only ever really tried and had success when price matching a product supplied by the Australian manufacturerā€™s own sales channel on Amazon or actually sold by Amazon Australia.

  • -2

I doubt you cam walk in and get a $950 credit just because.

    • +1

Might be an in-store only promotion they're running, similar to this?

  • Am I crazy or do these phones not have a microSD card slot?

    • +2

Nope, you're not crazy. The S22 series don't have expandable storage.

      • Thanks. Lame. Are there any decent flagship phones that do these days or is that just a pipedream now.

        • Unfortunately it's dying out like the 3.5mm port. MicroSD transfer rates are much slower than built in storage so they're phasing it out and focusing on cloud storage (which is even slower)

  • -3

S22 ultra which looks like an iPhone???

  • So…

    $747 + $828(69 x12) -$200 (GC) = 1,375 (without port in credit

    $747 + $588(49x12) - 200 (GC) = 1145 (with port in credit)

    • -2

You won't get it at that price , they won't price match, the guy was lucky. The phone will cost you $900 outright plus $69 a month. You might be able to get a port discount from the looks of it for $49. So an ok deal

      • Mickey… stop being a Brussel sprout…

Even without the $200 gift card and price match its an amazing deal. Let the people make there own decision given details..

        • Grammar check

          • +2

@mickeykozzi: Hey Mickey, check the comments, lots of people have been enjoying the deal!

  • $69 a month? Sim slutting costs less than $5 a month so unless you really need 100gb a month it's hard to justify.

    • Slim slitting. That's a new one

  • Anyone got the deal (price match and GC) in WA - can you please tell me store and store person

  • Is the GC emailed automatically? I purchased the S22 256gb at full price today, will get the promotion difference refunded to me once the Telstra port in has finished. Can I show my receipt in-store and get the $100?

    • -1

You were ripped off weren't you

      • What?

        • Good luck m8

  • How lucky this guy got 950.
The total would get to pay $1,033.31 if jb wants to do price match.
250 gift card buying the phone outright
300 gift card for signing up 69 for 12 mths.

    • +3

      That makes zero sense

      • Please enlight us

    • +3

The 950 is available to everyone, 950 isn't the lucky part.

      • I dont see this on their website? Can you give me the link?

  • These comments. It's as if ozbargain has been overtaken tonight by some Eastern European or SE Asia bot farm. WTF.

  • So does anyone know if it's possible to get this deal being an existing telstra customer?

    • Yes, you need to get a new Telstra number or port another connection to Telstra

  • For those with 28 degrees price protection, would that work against Amazon, if a price match is not possible in store?

    • +1

No reason it shouldnā€™t work. Make your screenshots and send them the link to the same product on Amazon.

  • +3

Got this deal at JB Leichhardt
They knew what they were doing and were all over it

In and out with the deal in 20min

    • cmon!

      • ???

        • Lol heā€™s happy itā€™s not just him and itā€™s an actual deal ppl can get

        • JbLeichhardt, Did they offer a $200 gift card
          $49 per month
And paid $747 for the s22 ultra

          • @Lover2022: Lol read the ad mate it's $69 per month. Have to contact telstra for that $20 discount, jb doesn't do that usually

            • @michael9865: How about a $200 gift card and Amazon price match

              • +1

@Lover2022: I got the $20 credit through Telstra web chat. The Leichhardt store did the rest.

  • I think I'm going to try and do this for an S22+ tomorrow in Hurstville. Can you still do a trade in as well?

    • Any luck with hurstville jb?
