Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 128GB $899 ($747 with Price Match) with Telstra $69/mo (12Mo Contract, + Bonus $200 GC) @ JB Hi-Fi

1461

Edit 4: thanks to J Man for the photo, here's the advertised offer: https://ibb.co/rQN9Wc9

Edit 3: here's some tips:
1. Be assertive with the price match, other members on ozb have reached out to customer service after purchasing an item and price matched with Amazon and have been reimbursed for it.
2. If telstra rep 1 declines port in credit move on to another rep
3. Remind JB rep that you are still purchasing handset and would still be entitled to the $200 accessories gift card.

Edit 2: It was confirmed by multiple JB staff that they would indeed price match the Amazon AU price. Additionally, this is not a $950 gift card, its a credit. I still had to purchase the handset for $747 which still entitled me to the $200 bonus gift card. I am not sure if everyone will have the same success but none the less i successfully executed this offer today. I suggest that rather than calling up the store you just go in and talk the representative.

Edit: Ok so monthly data is 100gb, have spoken to Telstra rep and managed to have $20 port in credit applied to account.
Final deal savings 12 Months $49 Per Month 100gb, S22 Ultra 128 GB 747 Outright with Price Match and Bonus $200 after sales gift card.

$20 port in credit - https://ibb.co/5vydYzW
outright cost - https://ibb.co/SRqtQPQ

128 GB Deal title is a handful but seems best value option at the moment given the price reduction and bonus offers Just did this myself, not sure when this deal expires.

Step 1. Sign up to the $69 per month Telstra plan for 12 months 100gb per Month. (possible port in credit too, will try soon) get $950 credit towards S22 Ultra (not sure if this includes the other s22 series handsets) Given the best we have had in the past is a $500 gift card this is insane value.

Step 2. Price Match Amazon AU current discount - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09Q9GLLLC

Total out of pocket cost: $747

Bonus $200 JB Hi-Fi gift card after purchase.

Trade in bonus wasn't an option.

Deal Update

Comments from users indicate that JB Hi-Fi Staff are no longer giving customers a $200 Gift Card when purchasing the Galaxy S22 Ultra at a discounted price (when bundled with 12 month Telstra SIM plan). The deal is marked expired as such, however the Galaxy S22 Ultra discount offer will continue to run as indicated on the photo until Wednesday 27 April).

The original deal title also referred to an instore negotiated deal (price matching with competitor store) — the price has been updated to reflect the advertised price of $899.

  • So if I'm with aldi mobile could I still get the 950 port in credit?

    • Yep, I did it from Aldi Mobile

  • @wordsmith thanks mate.

Interesting how "some" people claim hey can get that $200 GC but no one is give any proofšŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”, but surer these claims are driving customer to JB…

I must say port in credit seem more obtainable….

Funny how there is a loop hole before people would cancel the plan to scam the phone off retailer and now that loop hole is close, people are cancelling (well returning) the phone so they can scam the plan LOL…..

I would think the shop will have no issue for customer returning the phone and keeping the contract though as I thing the primary goal for these deal are selling contract. I just don't know how they can remove the association of serial/IMEI to the contract. Guess there must be way….

I have to admit I may do it myself if Telstra is not so bad in my are. I have a prepaid in my spare phone and on 4G outdoor I get 50 down 8 up max while in other area I can get 200 down 50up outdoor easy.

    • +1

You want me to take a photo of the back of the gift card for you ?

There are multiple mini bonuses in my deal that I have shared. The main deal is a $950 credit towards a s22 series phone. If you are smooth enough to get the other bonuses then good for you.

      • What did you say to Telstra to get $20 off your plan per month?

      • +2

I think it is your posting that is confusing and I only finally understand it with someone pointing out there is a gift card offer for buying a S22 series.

So The only lucky part is to get them to price match Amazon. The $950 sign up credit, $200 gift card and $20 port in per month should all be legit.

        • Hey op are you a previous Telstra customer?

        • I looks like a lot of people (myself included) weren't able to get the $200 gift card… did you get it?

  • In addition to the $950 port in credit, can anyone confirm if the $300 gift card for $69 plans applies?

    • +1

No such thing, its two separate deal.

You only get the $950 for port in and purchase a S22 Ultra, or
You port in to the plan and you get a 300 GC.

      Not both.

  • Any deal for just the plain ol S22? For those who don't want a monstrosity of a phone.

    • +1

      $850 for S22
      $900 for S22+
      $950 for S22 Ultra

    • If you port in to Telstra's $69 plan you pay 399 for the phone or 499 for the 256gb version. Might've ended yesterday though?

      • Yeh but if the above is correct then it's $887 total cost for this deal for S22…?

Price match Amazon for 256gb S22 for $1249, less $850 credit, less $100 gift card, plus 12x$49 (after $20 credit).

        • I don't think you're supposed to be able to get the $100 gift card. From memory, in-store it said "not in conjunction with any other offer or promotions". It's probably just JB Hi-Fi workers not knowing what they're doing. I will try my luck with getting the gift card and price match as the receipt says that I've paid full price, but I'm ASSUMING that it's only intended to work as "you pay 499 with no other price reductions" + the Telstra plan. So unless I'm completely wrong the intended total cost is $1327 (499 + 12x$69). Not that I think JB cares about how much you pay for your plan anyway.

    • +1

Bigger is better my partner keeps telling me and Ultra has a nice ring to it plus a fancy s-pen too Boot lolz

      • I went Ultra for the 10x optical zoom… otherwise would have gone smaller for sure, not to mention better % discount meaning overall better value deal.

  • +1

Im probably dumb, but where can I find this "12 Months Telstra Plan with $950 credit towards S22 Ultra"? All I can find is https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/jb-mobile-instore with a $300 gift card?

    • When I was at Leichhardt they said in store only. Its the same plan as the $300 but the gift card is $950 if being used for the S22 Ultra.

      • Leichhardt dont have 512gb stock…

    • Its in-store only. Please see the photo in original post.

  • Wow already 2x pages too read through, hope I'm not repeating someone's question already answered

Well read so far one can return the 128gb S22 Ultra effectively getting the Telstra $69 plan free

But what about returning 128gb S22 Ultra for a 256gb version and using the $200 gift card to do so?

Anyone try? So at least to put the gift card to something worth whilešŸ‘

Edit: ok better read all posts and pull my finger out lolz

  • +1

it does seem logical to buy 512gb or at least 256gb when you have a 108 mp camera. hard to convince myself to spend more

    • No sdcard slot on the S22 Ultra and I'm easily use to 512gb well what I'm rocking on my Note 10 plus ok the 512gb card in it is an over kill but handy for backups and the ability to move the card and place in laptop for example or straight into my PVR watch latest movies taken or downloaded

  • Sorry, I don't really get it.
So I need to go instore and tell them that I want to get S22 Ultra with price match Amazon?
Then tell them I want it in a 12 months contract $69/month?
Port-in a number will have me monthly credited?

And after all I still have $200 gift card to do what ever I want????

Helppppp!!! I really want this phone since my old s10e broken and my hand is sweating all the time abfwjwbciwbddnj šŸ˜…

    • +3

      Ask for contract,
      Price match Amazon.
      Contact Telstra for Port in.

      • Yes Thanks man I just read again what he wrote and understand now.

        Thanks anyway

  • +1

I get most of it but no idea why you'd be given the gift card. You can price match it but… doesnt that change the offer thereby invalidating the gift card?

  • +2

Anyone in vic get this offer?

  • How do you get $900 credit when the $69 contract is only giving $300 gift card???

    • +1

Its a seperate in-store deal. See the photo posted by OP in original post.

  • I got this reply from JB about price matching the S22. "Iā€™ve had a look at the listing Amazon has for the White S22 256gb and unfortunately we canā€™t price match with their listing due to the stock being non Samsung genuine.

Amazon is sourcing their stock from a place called ā€˜3 Brothers Mobile.ā€™ Due to this we canā€™t confirm the warranty details of that listing"

I just looked at 3 Brothers website, it says the phone is Australian stock? Thoughts?

  • any link to the telstra plan signup page?

  • deal only available until 27/4 and in-store only so be quick if you want to grab this deal. I'm at Maribyrnong JB to sign up

    • Are they willing to price match Amazon and also giving $200 gift card?

      • +1

yes, the guy was okay with it even though he mentioned the deal is already cheap but I said this is not a discount, this is from Telstra credits so he was reluctant to do it..lol .. you will also get $200 gift card as part of buying new 22 range promotion

        • Didn't get they guys name by any chance? I guess this is not the Highpoint store but Maribyrnong store across the road

I hope my bad credit rating won't effect me getting the $69 Telstra plan and this deal lolz

          • +1

@Italkdigital: I have NOT successfully gotten the phone and the plan yet, the guy said he is waiting for Telstra port in from Kogan successfully before finalise the deal so I am still waiting for that given today is PH so I reckon it will be tomorrow.

            • @BlackorRed: Hey @v1etbargain!

I'm hoping to stop by the Maribyrnong store and take up this offer too.

Did you happen to get the blokes name?

This is too good of an offer to pass up on lol

              • @Mybabyburrito: I'll let you know his name if I successfully get the deal..lol…

                • @BlackorRed: Thanks mate!

How did you go about it by the way?

Just show the receipts from this post and explained?

                  • +1

@Mybabyburrito: lol…no…they would be WTF and reject my pricematch and GC deal…I just went in and asked about Telstra $69 with $950 toward S22U, then asked if they pricematch Amazon and confirmed if I also get $200 gift card but I overheard the guy said to another rep that they didn't have physical gift cards anymore so they will have to email it so it was REAL…lol

                • @BlackorRed: Yes please, name name name please šŸ¤£šŸ˜œšŸ˜œ

            • @BlackorRed: Well you got this far so good luck

One question did you price match with Amazon to bring ot down to $747?

  • Has anyone been able to get the deal at jb hifi maribyrnong?

I hit the wall at my local jb hifi.

If successful please PM me. Thanks

Went to a few JB stores in VIC, All refused

  • The only valid offer JB hi-fi are doing is $950 off Samsung 22 Ultra with $69 100GB Plan. The $200 voucher is not valid with Samsung offer and Amazon can't be pricematched as it's 3 brothers stock.

  • I went into a store in Melbourne this afternoon and can confirm the deals are on. The employee showed me the PDF file on their computer screen with the offer as described in this post.

I had signed up for a S22 128GB model however all they gave me was the simcard and told me ā€œitā€™s being provisionedā€ and come back tomorrow for the phone. They put aside the phone and had recorded the IMEI number etc. onto my contract. Told me ā€œitā€™s public holiday today a bit slowā€, which seems unusual.

Also, the simcard they gave me does not work yet.

    • +1

Did the sales guy give you the $200 GC?

Great on you clarifying that the IMEI is recorded on the contract. I know that was mandatory as the JB sales told me when I got the Hauwei deal few years back. So I donā€™t know how the others can return the phone as discussed abovešŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

    • Which store did you go to?

  • Well people cueing at Watergardens Taylors Lakes and spoke to sales rep so certainly happening, though I specifically asked him the sales rep if I could return it to get my money back on the phone only (keep the Telstra plan) and his responce was a big NO lol, though have a feeling by law they can't say no and we'll I'll get stuck with the Telstra plan,. well that's what I want to do, man wrong store wrong sales person always for me or other option sell it online, which might be a better option cause of the $200 voucher, anyone's thoughts?

Ok need to read comments from beginning of this thread so when returning what one would get the full price back of $1849 value of the S22 128gb version?

  • +1

Brother just had amazon price match done at JB so now to try get the port in credit. Good luck people

    • Hey mate, did your brother go to a different store store to price match?

      TIA

      • Not sure what store OP went to but he went to one of the south western Sydney stores (narellan, Liverpool, campbelltown etc). I can ask him which store he went to if that's one of your local stores

  • Just came back from Richmond. Staff confirmed that the $200 gc cannot be applied at the same time as the $950 offer for ultra so try a different store.

  • Was able to price match amazon at jb hifi Leichhardt with the $69 plan which included the $950 credit. However, we couldn't get $200 GC ontop like OP had managed to get.

    Goodluck all.

    • Same here at Leichhardt
They were efficient though… walked out of Broadway because they had no idea about the offee

  • +1

Was able to get price match for amazon, as well as get the $200 gift card.
    Great Deal!
Need to try the port credit now through Telstra

    • Hi mate, where is store located?

      • North Sydney

  • I went to the Ringwood Vic store to try my luck. They refused to price match. The initial sales assistant said they could provide the $200 gift card. However, when a more senior assistant took over, she confirmed that the GC was not available on this deal. She showed me the note on the their store PC stating in bold red text that the GC was not available with this deal. So others have only been lucky when they had an assistant that didnā€™t know the store rules.
She also mentioned that if I was to ask Telstra later for a port in credit, JB would lose their cut of the deal.

    • So are you going to ask?

      • Not sure yet. Feel like Iā€™m stealing if I do.

  • So for the porting credit, am i doing it with telstra rep after sign up the plan at JB or before sign up?

    • After signing up at JB, get onto Telstra chat and ask for the port in credit of $20 per month. If at first you donā€™t succeed, try, try again!

  • Thanks,
I've got this deal today but the Rep did not let me port-in a number (for further a monthly discount) as I forgot to activate a new number with another provider and I won't get $200 gift card (from purchasing the phone) since it's already "too cheap".
By the way they will only do $10 monthly credit discount if you port-in a number (not $20 discount like above the post, not this deal, not current deal - as the Rep said)…

So far I am happy with the deal today :)

    Thanks again.

  • 1: price match , not all JB honouring

2: $200 GC , again itā€™s trial and error. Only lucky are getting $200 GC

    3: $20 port in , few gets only $10 instead of $20

While deal is good if all three goes well but $
128 GB phone without memory card / charger / headphone, its too ask as this phones would not hold value after 6-8 weeks.

    • TO be fair you could still get the one's with larger storages.. I went 256… hope I don't regret not going 512

  • I'm confused how this deal work. Do you have to go onto Telstra plan or can you buy outright. Plus $747 and $69 for 12 month's is not really a saving.

    • Telstra plan is only for 12 months contract, the rrp of the s22 ultra is $1849 how can you say $747 is not an insane discount?

Plus as other have done $20 reduction on 12mths Telstra plan = $240 in your pocket

Plus $200 Jbhifi gift card voucher in your pocket

Some seem to be getting free buds in your pocket oh ears too lolz

      Did I miss anything?

Did I mention the Telstra plan has 100gb of data,, use Telstras number share $5 a month and stick simcard in a cheap 4g portable modem, cya later NBN šŸ˜‰

  • Quick question to everyone if we are able to return it to other JB Hifi shop ?

    • I was able to get this deal from jb hifi. Got price match, discount $950, $200 voucher. Portin is still pending, once I am on Telstra, I will ask for new port in discount. Meanwhile I also submitted for a galaxy buds live redemption. Let's see if Samsung honours that.

      • +1

        What's the buds redemption?

        • Also curios about this

      • Have you or anyone had any luck with redeeming the galaxy buds?

  • +2

In case anyone wants a high-quality version of the $20 Credit message, I just got mine:

    https://i.imgur.com/tlZLNVF.png

He refused multiple times, saying JBHiFi have to apply the credit, not Telstra. Just be nice and persistent that it can be done by Telstra and after a while he said he will check with his boss and get back to me. And then it was done.

PS: I tried to get 50K points bonus too, thought I might as well try and they actually said if I switch to NBN with Telstra I can get 50K bonus points on Telstra plus, here is a picture of both:

    https://imgur.com/a/vcXaJxM

OP, you can add the images or link to this comment in the Original Post u/Spennyrich @Spennyrich

  • Might be an obvious question, but do you have to be employed (i.e. steady income) to be eligible for this?

    • Telstra system does a credit check when you are applying for the connection.

      • Thanks,

I do have a good credit score (no defaults etc.) it's just I am not currently deriving an steady income…

        No luck?

  • I was able to get phone for 747 after price match at hc store in Vic….

    • Wheres the hc store?

  • Did anyone have luck with same day port out/port in?

    • No, I went Jb yesterday at 4pm,it went through this morning

      • So just to see I got it right:

You ported out your Telstra number yesterday at say 3:30pm say to Voda 2$ prepaid, walked in JB at 4:00, said you had a Voda sim and want the deal, and they accepted to give you the deal?

They didn't mention you had to wait 28 days?

        • Sorry thatā€™s not what I meant, I meant if your port-in was not successful, you are not entitled for the phone.
My scenario was I port-in with JB yesterday 4pm, it did not go through, they kept the phone and everything for me ; till this morning the Telstra network went through, I have to go back To store and pay for everything left yesterday.
I donā€™t know what happen if you port-in yourself with Telstra instead of with JB

    • +1

Yeah I should've been clearer. Existing customer port out and port back in without having to wait the 28 days

  • I had chat with few Telstra rep via app, theyā€™ve all be available to see 20dollar credit, but everyone of them replied that the credit can only be applied when first bill released. Asked me to come back once first bill and they can apply it.

    • Telstra rep said that I have to reach out to them again after 1st bill comes, as of now, my bill shows $0 that nothing can be applied
