Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 128GB $899 ($747 with Price Match) with Telstra $69/mo (12Mo Contract, + Bonus $200 GC) @ JB Hi-Fi

1461

Edit 4: thanks to J Man for the photo, here's the advertised offer: https://ibb.co/rQN9Wc9

Edit 3: here's some tips:
1. Be assertive with the price match, other members on ozb have reached out to customer service after purchasing an item and price matched with Amazon and have been reimbursed for it.
2. If telstra rep 1 declines port in credit move on to another rep
3. Remind JB rep that you are still purchasing handset and would still be entitled to the $200 accessories gift card.

Edit 2: It was confirmed by multiple JB staff that they would indeed price match the Amazon AU price. Additionally, this is not a $950 gift card, its a credit. I still had to purchase the handset for $747 which still entitled me to the $200 bonus gift card. I am not sure if everyone will have the same success but none the less i successfully executed this offer today. I suggest that rather than calling up the store you just go in and talk the representative.

Edit: Ok so monthly data is 100gb, have spoken to Telstra rep and managed to have $20 port in credit applied to account.
Final deal savings 12 Months $49 Per Month 100gb, S22 Ultra 128 GB 747 Outright with Price Match and Bonus $200 after sales gift card.

$20 port in credit - https://ibb.co/5vydYzW
outright cost - https://ibb.co/SRqtQPQ

128 GB Deal title is a handful but seems best value option at the moment given the price reduction and bonus offers Just did this myself, not sure when this deal expires.

Step 1. Sign up to the $69 per month Telstra plan for 12 months 100gb per Month. (possible port in credit too, will try soon) get $950 credit towards S22 Ultra (not sure if this includes the other s22 series handsets) Given the best we have had in the past is a $500 gift card this is insane value.

Step 2. Price Match Amazon AU current discount - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09Q9GLLLC

Total out of pocket cost: $747

Bonus $200 JB Hi-Fi gift card after purchase.

Trade in bonus wasn't an option.

Deal Update

Comments from users indicate that JB Hi-Fi Staff are no longer giving customers a $200 Gift Card when purchasing the Galaxy S22 Ultra at a discounted price (when bundled with 12 month Telstra SIM plan). The deal is marked expired as such, however the Galaxy S22 Ultra discount offer will continue to run as indicated on the photo until Wednesday 27 April).

The original deal title also referred to an instore negotiated deal (price matching with competitor store) — the price has been updated to reflect the advertised price of $899.

  • By any chance, has anybody tried this in JBHIFI Camberwell?

  • Quick question to everyone if we are able get the deal if we don't have an income at the moment?

I am happy for them to run a credit check, as it's perfect.

    • Just give it a whirl

    • The first time I got Telstra, I had been in a job for only 2 weeks. Best way is to walk in and check perhaps?

  • Does anyone have a link / picture of the $200 accessories gift card promotion? First JB rep I spoke with said they didn't have any $200 GC promotions on purchases. Sorry if I missed it in the comments.

  • JB hifi at Knox Westfield said offer is over as of Sunday.

  • Just got the phone and gift card from jbhifi camberwell. Went smoothly but took around 30 minutes. I'll try the $20 Telstra credit a bit later.

I'm just wondering now if anybody knows if you can port in your old number into the plan as they had to give me a new number because I was with boost.

    • Hey mate, know the name of the person you dealt with? It is on the contract that you would have signed.

  • Is any of the phones in the deal (S22, S22+, S22 Ultra) dual sim?

    Thanks

    • Read

      • Ah, my bad

Just read in the JB page, it's esim + nano. Hate that many telcos donot offer esim yet

    • One physical and one eSim.

Everyone (like me) should have done this deal on the day OP posted this deal (while reps didnt know over the weekend), all stores and store reps have caught on the $200 gift card is not part of this promotion in there computer system, so yep I couldn't get it

Though even though they said no at first, I've managed to get the Amazon Price match (thanks to manager chasing up for me)

Edit: Actually with their Amazon price match (they seemed to have priced a different one on Amazon) price came down to $725 but no $200 Jbhifi gift card

I'm still overall happy with deal now see how I go with telstra $20 port in discountπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Oh didnt need to port from non Telstra provider they actually gave me a new number

  • hey !
i port out of my telstra this morning and now i am with Vodafone, can I port back to Telstra tomorrow to be eligible for this deal?
is it possible or do i need to buy a separate sim, for this deal ??
    Thanks

    • should be good. I've done it before with belong. same company

      • Thanks mate!!!

  • Tried few stores and in VIC all of them had their T&C updated no more JB gift card
Early birds were lucky enough to get the whole deal:[

    • Can you please share which stores you tried?

Has anyone managed to get the $200 card from any of the JB's on the Gold Coast? I am prepared to drive to any JB from Coomera to Coolangatta

    • +1

      Yes, Robina.

      Yours truly,

      OP

      • That's a pity. I was there in Robina an hour ago, was rejected for the $200 Gift card. Was told they have updated their T&C. They only offered the $950 bonus.

Didn't proceed with the purchase in hopes of getting the gift card from other JB's on the Gold Coast.

        Lucky you, OP :)

    • +2

I've tried with 3x stores now,.. the $200 gift card is not meant to be part of this deal unless you find a store with reps that still don't know about it and you might get lucky and get it

I did get the Amazon price match even though they said no the first time, I actually stepped out of the store for 15 minutes, came back and then they offered it to me actually the store manager chased it up with a phone call

    • +1

Did a deal with JB HI FI harbour town boss. They gladly gave me the price match and 200 GC.

      • Just got back from Harbour Town. No luck with the $200 Gift Card anymore

Finally got the ultra 128GB though

  • thanks, I got the 256gb model (priced match with amazon) for $873.30 @ JBHIFI Castle Towers. $200 gift card was for accessories only which ill save for a rainy day since i need to get some white goods in not so long.

    • Got some how down to $725 with price match and they matched it with there Amazon find lolz didn't say anything πŸ˜†

Edit: whoops yours is the 256gb version umm not bad actually probably best so far

      • yeah, 256 for heaps of baby photos :) i was expecting 900+ but at 873 cannot complain at all! 725 is a killer price too! if they still had micro sd slots then the 128 would had suffice imo.

        • Hi starKz,

Any chance I can grab a screenshot of the receipt?

          Heading to JB now

          Thanks!

      • Time to +vote this deal then.

  • Expired?

    • +1

      still good for today

      • Will it be available still tomorrow or expires today?

        • ive been today by the rep it expires today.

          • @starKz: Damn, cheers. Wanted to get my Dad on it tomorrow.

            • +1

@retainer: well… it does say end 27th… might be worth a call.

I got both price match and GC at JB Camberwell VIC. One of staff there said β€œnormally they don’t do that but one store did it and now all store do the deal”

    So let’s do it guys

  • If you have 2 Budget Direct policies, you will have access to their rewards program which allows you to buy Ultimate eGift Card - For Home for 5.75% (7%-1.25% processing fee) off and stack it on top of this.

  • +2

Did this at Camberwell, VIC today got the price match and the $200 GC.

Having trouble finding a Telstra rep who will apply the $20 credit though.
This is what they sent me in regards to the requirements: https://imgur.com/unrqCUX

Did anybody receive a text we can all just use, I've had two reps ask me for a SS of it now. I sent the port in text apparently that's not good enough.

    • Hey mate is the $200 gift card on the receipt when you get the phone, or is it a separate thing you get?

      • +1

It's a physical card you get after buying the phone, you can't use it towards the handset unfortunately.

    • +1

Update to this after wasting my time with three reps I finally got one that knew what they were doing and got the $20 credit!

      • nice, so the reps didn't check previous chat history?

        • Doesn't look like it, I got extremely frustrated with one and demanded they escalate. They didn't respond for 30m so I closed it and started with another rep.

I think the key is just say "Signed up for $69 BOY plan at JB-HI, could I please get the $20 credit applied to my bill"
I told the rep it was $10 port-in and $10 loyalty credit, but by that point I believe he had already proceeded it.

Update on my experience….Purchased the 256gb S22 plus on Sunday at $749 on the 12 month deal. Contacted Telstra and had no issues getting $20 port in credit applied. Better still, just sent through a price match request to the link at JB which is on page 2 of the comments here and also asked for the $150 gift card. Just received a refund of $110 for the price match and a $150 gift card. Effectively paying $639 for the phone and $588 for the 12 month plan. $1227 all up and have a $150 gift card to use.

    • Wouldn't have link to the priced you used for the Ultra 256gb varient?

Geez great you also got the $150 gift card they won't give me one lolz got a weblink for that? You mentioned page 2, looks like you claimed these after purchasing the phone.
      ?

Sorry for the delay and I know it's too late now..
        https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Galaxy-Smartphone-256GB-Ph…

And yes, claimed this back after purchase. Was advised they will price match up to 14 days. I also sent through a screenshot of the $150 bonus gift card that runs until 11th May. When I went back in, they apologised that this wasn't given at the time of purchase :)

        • Where did you find an advertisement of the git card that didn't say 'not available with any other offer'?
Or did you just crop that bit out lol

    • +2

      Winner!

Time to downvote all the naysayers!

    • Hi Ash460, could you please let us know which selection on that page? Thank you in advance

      • +1

I just checked. They have now updated it to say 'not in conjunction with any other offer'.
It didn't say that when I took the screenshot..

  • Thanks OP.
Went in yesterday but due to Anzac Day public holiday, my number didn't get ported until this morning. They agreed to price matched Amazon for the S22 U 256gb @ $1833-$950 plus the $200 gc. When my wife picked it up this morning, was served by a different person and he price matched it at $1819-$950 plus the $200 gc.

Now I've just got to work on Telstra for the discount, currently knocked back on the first try.

  • I was told by Jbhifi staff this deal actually finnishes tomorrow

  • I didn't managed to get the price match as the JB Cranbourne here were VERY persistent that they wont price match since they are offering the $200 GC on top.

Regardless, I bought one today as it was a good deal considering I have stocked up enough 10-15% off GC.

Hoping I can get the port in credits ASAP

    • FYI as an update.

I just got the $20 port in credits literally 5 minutes after posting the above comment.

      • what did you tell them? i've spoken to 3 reps and they kept mentioning to go back to JB.

        • Following, would like to know too.

Was pushed back and told to go to JB.

        • +1

@starKz tried again this morning and it worked.

I think you just have to try again.

The second Telstra rep said to go back to JB and I insisted, and they worked it out in 20 minutes. Didn't need to do anything on my end!

        • just keep moving on to the next reps - eventually u will bump into one that concedes.

    • Update: I went in store to finalize my purchase today, I was refused the $200 GC as I was served by a different person. I told him exactly what I was told yesterday and he insists that the sales person served me yesterday wouldnt have offered it.

I told him I asked the sales rep ytd specifically whether can the value of 200 GC be deducted towards the difference after telstra credits, and it was no as the gift cards can only be issued using the proof of purchase. He refused to listen and then went on to lecture all his colleague in front of me to clarify that they were non stackable.

He even discriminated the method I was paying with (discounted gift cards) saying and I quote "it doesnt work like that" - implying I am not supposed to stack all these discounts up.

It was a nightmare of an experience, I couldnt turn back as I have already ported away from my previous telco and has commenced with Telstra.

I have now filed a complaint with JB customer support, will see what they say.

      • -1

WTF you file a complain for a deal that you were not suppose to get? AMAZING!!

BTW you can still cancel because you have not pay for the phone yet. There is feature in salesforce to cancel the contract.

  • Anyone able to redeem the buds too?

    • Do you have the link or know how to redeem?

      • +1

The buds promo ended on the 25th just for reference
So if you bought before then worth a shot to try and redeem

  • they wouldnt give me the $200 voucher but fair enough

  • +1

If anyone is still keen, this deal is still 100% on until end of today at JB Hifi Camberwell, VIC. Will price match and give the $200 GC.

    Good luck.

    • So many naysayers and the the deal forceably expired but still bargain hunters having success!

      • I wasn't able to get both, so I opt for the GC. any idea how I can get reimbursed for the price match difference?

        • its mentioned in the comments somewhere here, happy reading

      • Just a bit of luck involved I guess!

First store I went straight out said the deal was over before the 27th at JB HiFi Knox.

Second store knew the drill from start to end. I even scored the $20 port in credit on first try! So full deal achieved. Awesome stuff!

  • I've tried with 5 or 6 online billing Telstra consultants for the port in credit. Got offered 10$ a month for 12 month's or 20$ a month for 6 months. Anyone had success with the 20$ a month for 12 recently?

    • Hey mate, yep me. This morning!

      • Finally got it, took like 8 goes πŸ˜‚

  • get the deal done for 256G ultra today with price match amazon. 200GC and will working on porting credit once the sims activated. Thanks for the post do really appreciate.

    • nice, which store?

      • Let me know how you go with the port credit

        • Took me 8 goes, hope you have better luck

    • Hi, Can you share the link for the amazon link, and would you mind sharing the receipt? I'm going to try tonight if possible?

  • I tried two stores today, both managers refused to acknowledge the Amazon price match or gift card. One straight up just said they wouldn't do it and other stores were wrong. The other one used an interesting tactic of talking such complete nonsense you couldn't argue with him.

    • Follow up: rang customer service to complain (I had followed through with purchase without the additional discounts), got put straight through to area manager who said they should have price matched. He's emailing store manager to tell them to refund me the difference.

      • Where is Amazon price? Can you share the link?

      • Nice work!

      • which line did you rang? I have emailed them on the website towards complaint. Hopefully they will honor it.

I called up sales online, they were able to price match and issue gift card no issues but problem is i have already bought it.

        • I just rang the generic customer support line and went through the series of automated questions. The system just tries to put you in touch with your nearest shop, it was just pure fluke that the nearest shop to me wasn't the one I went to and happened to have the regional manager there.

      • Can you PM me the line you rang.

Will give them a call tomorrow.

Sent them an online enquiry but no response yet.

      • No problem with price match just missing the $200 gift card umm might do the same and complain for it πŸ‘πŸ˜

        πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

        • I don't think you could argue the $200 card as I'm pretty sure you can't prove they didn't give you one… I'm just happy I ended up getting the refund for the amazon price match!

          • @Cheesey: I'm sure it be noted in there system somewhere or any staff/management can give out gift cards to themselves and no one would know, don't you think?

            • @Italkdigital: Maybe, I read somewhere else someone successfully complained for a $150 gift card using online support by sending them a screenshot of the offer.
Not sure where they found a $150 offer… Someone shared a link to a page containing the $200 one (below) but it also very clearly says not available with any other offer… if you want to try it let me know how you go!.
              https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-galaxy-s22-ultra-…

    • Funny the store I used the day before yesterday and they honoured the Amazon price match (well the manger chased it up) after I came back from leaving for 15 minutes, no $200 gift card also

Then yesterday tried to get a second phone but different manager was on call and he wouldn't honour the price match and again no $200 gift card also lolz so gave it a miss

Seems to me like what mood there in and it's up to the discretion of the managers to approve any deals

    • Got Port-in credit first try for $20!
At first they said no, must be done in-store at time of sale
But then I sent them the confirmation screenshot and they went back and got the credit approved.

  • My deal was this: $950 credit + $300 trade-in value on my S20 FE 5G 128GB + $10 monthly credit + $200 gift card
