    yea you do, via squaretrade. but either the jbhifi web ppl dont know what they're doing because i wen thru the square trade process and it said it was ok and then jbhifi wont allow the order to go further

        @magnitude: I mean, at some point it switched me O a weird verification process on my mobile phone. Once the verification was completed, I hit "next" or smth like that button back on the webpage where I started the trade in process, it failed. I waited a bit ad retried successfully.

    i've also tried about 15 times. tried with vpn off, ublock off, firefox vs chrome, used passport and drivers license, tried a family members id, tried using my middle name as part of the first name, and many other things ive forgotten. no luck. why can't they just use mygovid for verification?

      Yep I did all that too. Are you using an android? I was but then I borrowed someone's iPhone and did everything on it and the ID worked first time. I think it could be an android camera problem, not sure why though.

With the JB HiFi trade in, if you don't send in your phone are you charged an admin fee on top of the value of the device like Samsung's store?

  you can use trade in voucher the credit to buy a toaster if it’s at JB BUT the $400 off is an extra voucher for the oppo lite …….the trade in values are very low …… some android 11 phones are $0 ….. my nokia 8.3 5G android 12 currently rolling out is $100 …. so this deal is really the $400 oppo voucher ….most phones that aren’t $0 you would get more on ebay

  the feature is their rapid charge ….. what wireless charges overnight this phone chargers via cable in 15 mins …..wireless charging wouldn’t have cost much more but they also don’t want to canabalise some of their other models ….need differentiators in that compare list.
  
  the x5 has android 12 ….the lite is only android 11 ……. put too much in the lite and people won’t buy the x5.

    Yes. I got a $60 credit voucher, and the $400 voucher. I paid them both on the x5 lite and paid $339. When I don't send the ipad in, I will get billed another $60. So will have paid $399.

you can also do this at Harvey Norman and they give you $400 off PLUS up to $200 trade in on your old phone (so if its the right phone the X5 lite becomes $199.

  This is correct. I got $60 gift card which I used, then I used the voucher. $339. Will get pinged for the $60 in 4 weeks time so yes total $399. Trade in page is broken at the moment though.

Before committing to this purchase, can someone please unequivocally confirm that if I use my kid's valid iPhone and iPad as a trade-in to get the $400 voucher, I will not be 'forced' to send these devices in, and will only have their trade-in value recouped by Squaretrade via my credit card for not sending them in, but still retain the $400 JB voucher.

I don't want to feel the wrath of my children if I have to send in their phone and iPad!

  You won't retain the voucher because you will have used it. Be sure to use the gift card you get for the trade in as part of the payment because you'll be charged that value anyway (to your CC)
  
  The conditions say if you fail to send the device in, the value of the gift card will be deducted from your CC. They won't force you to send it.

  was in jb yesterday to have a look at the phone …..i’m trading in an oppo a72 to get the voucher …..they only offer $100 so won’t send it in, 1 year old phone and i could do better on ebay or gift to elderly relative who has 4 year old android ….
  
  for $400 the x5 lite is great phone if you want australian stock, warranty and 5G.
  
  not sure what other australian stock , warranty 5G phone you get for the $400 that is a 2022 release so you get longevity of updates …..only down side is was released with android 11 not 12 ….so 2 updates means it might not get android 14, just android 12 and 13 …..for $400 that is still great.

  I have the oppo Find X2 Neo and completely agree. If the Find X5 (normal, not "lite") was only $300 more than the Lite, it might be worth it, but for an additional $800 it is ridiculous. Plus the evaluations on perfectly good phones is quite low
