@luketech: Neither 11400F-3060Ti-MAY nor 11400F-3060-MAY seems to be working:

⚠️ Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached its usage limit!

    • +4

I just copied the code from the deal to clipboard and it worked?

      • +1

@luketech: Weird! Working just fine for me too now. Didn't before.

    • +1

I presume it's case sensitive? The coupon in the deal is 11400F-3060TI-MAY not 11400F-3060Ti-MAY.

      • +2

@iseeyou1312: The code in the deal was originally 11400F-3060Ti-MAY. The OP changed it to 11400F-3060TI-MAY after I posted my comment. If I recall correctly I also tried the all caps version and it didn't work either. Just tested now and it works with both upper or lower case i.

        • <nvidia boss voice> Ti </nvidia boss voice>

  • +1

Is this still working? I can't get the coupon code to be accepted. Still shows $1488

    • +2

Still working as above for me. Weird, anyone else experiencing? One is random, two is usually more than a coincidence…

      • I just tested it. Worked for me.

      • +1

It was the "Upper Case I" that was the issue.

    • +1

      👀

  • The Coupon worked for me

  • Is this a good setup to go for casual gaming and 4k editing?

    • +1

It's powerful enough for it if you add another 16gb ram, but if you're doing editing as a consistent hobby/job, it's probably better to get something in the 2k bracket just to cut your render time by 30% so there's less chance of you walking away to leave it render and it stops for whatever reason.

  • Hi Luke will there be any 5600 3070 builds in the works? Thanks

    • Yep can definitely look at it.

  • Hey Luke, will there be any ITX deals coming up?

    • +3

No ITX sorry, not a doable form factor on our end for various reasons right now.

  • +4

Didn’t people have lots of issues with Allied PSU?

  • What's an gaming laptop with an equivalent spec? The 12800h/mobile3070ti G15 Dells/Intel NUC rebrands? Since I'm starting from scratch, I'm trying to decide whether to replace my existing desktop with a gaming laptop given that the laptops seem to be a little easier to source vs. GPUs these days…

    • +5

GPUS have come down a lot in price and seem to be in stock quite often.

Desktop GPUs tend to out-perform there laptop counterparts by a decent margin as well.

      • Awesome, thanks for the feedback. Think I'll go desktop then, provided there are no more pandemics or invasions in the near future :D

  • +2

Hi all, I am looking at this deal and the $1487 3070 PC deal.
Which one would be better value for gaming and future proofing?
I looked at some of the comments to add some upgrades such as:
    - 120mm AIO CPU Cooler
    - B560M Aorus Elite Motherboard
    - 750W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

    Thanks

    • -6

Are you asking if the one with better specs will perform better?

Without trying to sound like a dick, what do you think?

Edit: also I disagree with other responses that 3070 is a high tier GPU, it's low to mid. Above 3070 is 3070Ti, 3080 10Gb, 3080 12Gb, 3090, 3090Ti. Lots of models.

      • +5

~9th most powerful consumer gpu ever brought to market
        low to mid tier

        • -4

Current gen? Low to mid tier, correct.

      • +3

I think the question is on better value not better performance. In which case the 3060 Ti isn’t far behind and I think offers the better value.

On the “tier” of the card. I like to think xx50 is entry/budget, xx60 is midrange, xx70 is mid-high and xx80 flagship. The 3090 is pitched as a Titan replacement so really for the elite enthusiasts
Ti variants are just a step up of the base model (doesn’t hold for 3060 Ti which is just a step down of a 3060)
Looking at the MSRP and performance of the 3070, I don’t know how you can class it as low-mid range

        • Yeah I hear you, but better value for gaming and future proofing though? Question doesn't even make sense. Also the value proposition isn't much different as the prices aren't hugely different.

Typically I'd agree on tier but if we expect gen on gen performance leaps let's stop calling the current gens low end as mid high tier…. Just because it performs well it doesn't comparatively make it a high tier…unless you compare it to previous gens.

So a 1070 is mid high end when a 2080ti exists? Don't think so.

          • +1

@Dvbargain: Ok yeah, value and future proof aren’t really aligned and yes, pretty similar value.
30-series is still current gen, so I’d consider 3070 in the mid-high tier though likely to change later this year

    • They will be the same for future proofing, which is not very good. The next gen Intel chips use a new socket and you will not be able to upgrade past 11th gen CPUs. The 3070 is a high tier graphics card so the extra money means that card may be useful for longer but with the same mobo your CPU, RAM and storage options will be the same.
Also 120mm AIOs are not meant to be very effective, a good quality air cooler will be a better option for the price.
The standard case is also smaller than the MSI, so may not fit big GPUs or big cooling if you upgrade in future.

    • Imagine buying a build to "future-proof" a few months before the next gen of GPUs launch lol…

    • Personally I would ask TechFast for a 12400f from this deal. And get the GPU downgraded to a 3060ti to bring the price down.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/694700

120mm AIO isn't worth the upgrade. Go either to the 240mm, or keep it stock.

The standard motherboard and power supply is fine unless you plan to upgrade the CPU later

(might as well sell the motherboard with the CPU and RAM, and upgrade the whole lot later on, rather than paying more for a motherboard you won't get any benefit from. It would also be worth getting DDR5 RAM in a year or 2)

    750W Allied PSU upgrade this

  • Casual. Gaming and mainly photoshop and illustrator? Is this good for. Me ? I upgrade built every 4 years

Atm using the dell xps laptop with i7 10th gen

    Any advice ?

  • I got the Galax RTX 3060 Ti 1 Click OC from last month deal, build quality is solid. When you requested to ship the GPU separately, TF put it back into its original box and packing, shipped out in a completely big thick cardbox filled with air cushions, arrived perfectly safe and sound!!!

    • Finally you got a card! Congrats and enjoy your new rig :)

      • You should too.

        • Nah, I am not in a hurry. Can easily wait till december, busy with other things in life. Gaming has taken a back seat. Even if a 3080 12G was 999, I wouldnt bother at this point.

      • Thx, I can relax now when my boy is very happy with this new rig, even better I just sold his Asus gtx1060 laptop with a hell lot of freebies like 20" LCD, printer, gamdius kb mouse combo, his old gaming chair, even my old LG mobile phone, all together for $500 on scumtree just less than 1 day after listed, a welcome change over plus getting back a lot of spaces at home now.

    • so why you keep saying HODL??

  • With these cases, can you turn the RGB off? They look hideous.

    • +1

just cut the cable to the rgb lights.

      • +1

I don't have any RGB but they can almost certainly just be unplugged from whatever power source they're connected to rather than cut, since none of the pieces in the PC come joined together.

    • Yea, you turn them off with gigabyte rgb fusion software or unplug like stated.

  • Ordered i7 one, I must replace my old PC.

    • Thanks for your order!

  • can I add another 3060ti GPU to this system? do I need to upgrade anything for that?

    • +1

need better psu first of all, and i doubt you can fit a second gpu in that case?

  • If I get the wifi motherboard, do I need the wifi networking card added?
Do I only need to pick one with the difference being the networking card is faster?

    • +2

No need if you are getting wifi mobo, just screw the 2 antennas that come with the build, that's it!

  • Attention guys
    Price dropped again.

    • No. this deal has always been $1288 …

      • Is the 1288 incl gst or not?

        • included GST. All you pay on top is postage if you not gonna upgrade which for me is around $53 to Sydney, and the best part TF doesn't charge credit card fee !!!

          • @kaikor: Verified true. Just misled by the dropped marked price after the code applied.

  • Would a i5 12400 version of this deal be possible for a little extra like there is for the 3080?

    • +1

Can look at it, in a separate system deal. It's not a straight upgrade path on this particular deal because of the different architecture/motherboard needed, compared to others where we've offered 10th and 11th gen CPUs.

      • Yeah! Would be great if we can get a i5 12400 version with an RTX 3070 I would definitely buy that one

      • Thanks for the reply, I'll hold off for that deal if it does happen. Would also love a mobo upgrade option to the MSI Pro B660M-A on the 12th gen if it's possible as that seems to be the best rated budget mobo.

  • Hi

I’m looking for a new PC and was wondering if this is a good buy? I’m not so tech savvy with these machines, hence why I ask you fine folk for your honest opinions about this deal and if I should purchase or be patient for now.

    Currently I’m running a GeForce GTX 1070 /w ryzen 5 1600 af running on a 34-inch monitor @ 1440P & 144Hz.

    Thank you in advance

  • this 11th gen or wait for 12th gen ?

Im only light gaming and heavy in photoshop ?? upgrade system every 3-4 years

  • Is the i7 10700 deal with 3060ti worth it given that this deal available. Looking for new system for sim racing.

  • Hi Luke, purchased one of these on the 19/05, any progress on shipping?

    • Hmm purchased mine last night but maybe I should cancel if it's taking that long.
