  • yeah I always hate pre builds they never give you a top of the line motherboard, none of these options have thunderbolt 4 or usb 4

    • +1

i mean you can probably upgrade to those if you talk to luke. just pay more. personally i'd rather the money is spent on the critical conponents while the mobo can just be adequate.

    • +7

Then build your own? Whats the problem lol

      • getting someone else to build it is a time saver.

        • But building is fun and most importantly its easy to debug if something goes wrong after warranty as you built everything yourself.

    • +1

Techfast caters towards those looking for best value. Nicer parts with extra features wouldn’t fit well into theirs business model.

      • +1

Exactly my case, all we want is open up the box, plug and play immediately !!!

    • +1

Yep, these awful techfast mobos don't even include watercooling for the CPU and VRMs. Like, how do they expect me to install my $1k custom loop into my $1.3k techfast pc???

  • 3060 Ti with 750w PSU
    3070 with 650w PSU

shouldn't be the other way around?

    • 700W PSU with no 80plus rating or 650W Bronze Rated
Neither look great but I guess it’s better than the Allied branded ones

    • +1

It’s more of a cost thing. The 750W has a lower buy price than the Giga or MSI 650 Bronze. Both units would meet the requirement of both GPUs though.

  • +2

Hey Luke what's the lead time for these? Would they be shipped by the time I'm out of lockdown?

    • I guess it depends when you’re outta lockdown!
But they would start shipping next week.

      • sounds good! Friend is looking at a 3070 so I'll get it sorted with him tonight. Cheers for the deal!

  • +1

Looking at the 3070 deal. This or the i5 11400f deal?

    • The intel deal really needs the mobo upgrade, and I'd be much happier running the 5600 with the stock cooler.

  • -1

    Any 3080ti deals?

  • Not sure If it’s an error in the website or the post but the base motherboard for the 3060Ti is a biostar, with an upgrade cost for the gigabyte listed above.

Anyone buying the 3060Ti please upgrade the power supply. Do not trust your GPU to an allied PSU

    • +1

Found it - it was the 3070 motherboard showing Biostar. Changed to Giga, thanks. Just worth noting that the Allied 750W is equivalent to a Thermaltake Litepower and we wouldn't use it if it didn't do the job reliably over the long term as it would cause excessive warranty issues for us. But the option is there for anyone who would prefer a rated/different brand unit.

  • looks like 3060Ti prebuilt at $1288 so far hit its bottom and won't go down further I guess?

  • TY luke, just put in an order for the 5600 version with some increased RAM and m.2 space.

    • Thanks!

  • Do you have any deals for office PC's? Without a graphics card.

  • Hey Luke, I ordered a i5 system on 11 may but next day cancelled it and got a refund coupon, and then ordered the 5600x system. The refund coupon was incorrectly lower than the original order and was also awaiting ozbargain coupon refund on the 5600x order. I sent summary email but have not heard back in a couple of days. Please can you confirm this and the ETA for delivery?

    • +3

      Called, explained, sorted :)

      • All good, I can see it's on the way too. Cheers

        • Got it! that was fast thanks. Newb question, how do you turn the bottom front fan led on? Only the top one is on for me?

  • The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 RTX 3060 Ti ($1288), will this equal or better than XSX performance? Or if I want to play all gamepass exclusive, better go for i5-11400F RTX 3060 Ti?

Or do I better get something stronger? i5-12400F RTX 3070?

  • Ordered thanks!

Do people recommend having the GPU shipped separately or is it a non issue?

    • +1

I did and it is safer, GPU will be pack back into its own box and sent separately together with your prebuilt FREE OF CHARGE !!! I will recommend this just to avoid any damages.

  • What's the fastest shipping possible if requested? Thanks.
