        The 2 months from the date of tracking is the confirmation period.

        SB needs to fix up the tracking before then. I expect to see a $40 pending (as would everyone) once this whole mess is fixed.

        No matter what the outcome is, this is a massive fail by Shopback and eBay.
        - Shopback knew early on that there was a problem with tracking - and their response was to keep going for days and allow hundreds or thousands more failed trackings to occur. They were obviously more concerned about earning commissions than their customers and in the process allowed the problem to grow and delayed fixing the problem for early customers
        - then they sent out the ridiculously worded "good news" e-mail, which included the reassuring advice "In the mean time, we will proceed to reject this missing cashback claim."
        It just goes from bad to worse - and even if we all get out $40 cashback, everyone will still remember this as an epic failure by Shopback and probably eBay.

      So the missing claim they added is now showing as rejected but supposedly somewhere the $40 claim is now being tracked. However, I can't see it and it hasn't resulted in a $40 increase in my lifetime earnings or pending earnings. Obviously it's not that straightforward, otherwise they wouldn't have asked whether I'm able to find it!! Although there appears to be some progress, not being able to find it doesn't reflect well on Shopback's systems, which are already under question by this debacle

        Why this deal has only -15 given nobody has actually received it is beyond me. 9 pages of frustrated comments vs +482 for ShopBack. Incredible!

              @USER DC: I accept that it's not what most are experiencing, and I can't explain why the tracking notification seems to have worked (I'm not counting on it until it gets approved), but maybe the problem is something on eBay's end in classifying the cashback.

                That's the only explanation that would make sense.

          I presume what they mean is that it's now being tracked - but until we get our s#it together and sort it out properly it's showing as rejected. I'm not sure how they see this as a positive move. I can understand them having system issues that they need to resolve but Shopback obviously believes this e-mail will give their customers confidence that the problem is being fixed. "Good news". How does telling me my purchase is now being tracked but "we will proceed to reject this missing cashback claim" translate to being good news??? It reflects poorly on the people who are overseeing this mess i.e. this is not just a tracking problem. It's also growing into a communication/customer service mess!!

            “Thank you for the email address.

            After reviewing your case with the respective team, there was a slight error earlier with the eBay Plus Cashback from our end.

            This is now fixed and will reflect the correct cashback in your account once our system refreshes, you can expect the correct rates to reflect within the next 72 hours as long as your purchase was made within the upsize period.

            If the rates are not updated within 72 hours in your account, do let us know and share the full order confirmation email from the merchant.

            We apologize for the inconvenience and do let us know if you need anything else.”

              @Captain Hindsight: Lucky it was only a "slight error" and that it will only be another 72 hours (doesn't sound as bad as 3 days) before the system refreshes and your problem is fixed…..hopefully.

  • When submitting a missing cashback claim which option should I use:

    Online purchase or Shopback Go Purchase.

    Been 11 days and nothing, no tracking nothing. Been a disaster and wasted $49 if I don't get the cashbask.

    I've also been told my Cashback has been tracked but now shows as rejected in my shopback app.

  • finally compelled to neg this deal man, I gave Shopback a lot of time to fix up the tracking before negging this deal. They still are all showing on 22 May 3 signups, when i signed up 1 on 20 May, and 1 on 24 May.

    I am very certain, would have had not applied at all if SB was not offering this deal, which is clearly a debacle.

    How long are people going to wait before initiating chargebacks ?

    • Thats not how chargeback works…

      If they havent provided you with a service then yeah you can do the chargeback. If they've already provided you with a year's worth of Ebay Plus and then you initiate a chargeback on them, that's fraud.

        Yeah one of the eBay plus accounts I have not been provided with $5 monthly vouchers. Have tried to contact eBay multiple times, they are useless empty headed people as usual, been a while too since original request on i am not been provided with $5 vouchers so that particular transaction should be eligible for chargeback, this one would top up on that if this CB doesnt get allow

        • As @fuzor mentioned, you can't lodge chargebacks willy nilly. They have provided the main service which is eBay Plus membership.
          Even if you are successful, you may find your eBay account banned.

            Do you just look for stuff that's $5 or less? Or is there a minimum spend?

          Same with me, my ebay account still has no monthly vouchers, and customer service isn't doing anything about it. Might lodge a chargeback soon.

        • Got the $20 signup voucher, but neither $5 for $50 spend or $5 for $15 spend showing up on my accnt. Had ebay+ in the past and rarely got to use $5 on $50 spend as it's to limited, $5 on $15 spend t&c's look better and easier to use, June 1st if it doesn't appear on my ebay accnt will be contacting them about it.

            I got neither of those $5 vouchers (with $50 or $15.01 min spend).
            I am sick of those eBay CS people they literally have not done anything other than saying they have forwarded to the team and they are looking into it.

            That's why I am so inclined to making a chargeback. I definitely would not have done ChargeBack if SB cashback was tracked properly @ $40

                @arcticmonkey: Sadly I am seeing those $5 vouchers of $15.01 minimum spend now in that account, which still has eBay plus and wasnt cancelled or refunded. Seriously hoping SB can track that $40 Cashback in couple days or so, if not I'll keep insisting on a eBay plus subscription refund, and ditch SB for a good time.

    • I am a happy SB customer too, just not liking this debacle, I do believe that they would end up fixing it but after a very very long time. Most likely I think its eBay plus team to blame

    Tracked? I don't think so, at least not in my cashback list

    I held off logging a claim because I figured they were working on the issue but still nothing so I've logged a claim today. I hadn't used ShopBack that much in the past just because I was a cash rewards member early on. I'm going to be super pissed if the cashback doesn't come through as I never would have purchased the membership at full price.

    i signed-up at 23rd May (it's day 7th today) , tracking has not show-up too and it is not even shown pending or something for the ebay plus membership.

    On the other hand, i did purchase something because of Shopback rewards. However, i feel i'm trapped after i receive a email saying my purchase is not tracked with 3 reasons.

    1. Purchased item(s) are under categories not eligible for cashback or did not meet the T&Cs. To see the store's current Terms and Conditions, please click on the particular Store in the table above to find out more.
    2. Usage of promo codes or voucher codes not listed on ShopBack.
    3. Added items to cart before clicking through ShopBack.

    So as a beginner,

    • if you have saved item in a cart, remove the item first.
    • you must click the Shipback link FIRST and make an order from begin (product page, add to the cart) to finish (payment).

    Shopback did not clearly tell how do they track and in which point the track will be 100% logged and success. And cash back from shopback is not straight forward and secured sometime. e.g. You may need to spend extra time to maintain your shopback reward. if you don't care, they won't fix the cash reward for you.

  • I had to contact Shopback as nothing appeared in my cashback list. They replied to say that it is now being tracked. Now in the cashback list it says:

    "eBay Plus (Missing Cashback, 21-05-2022) - amount $0.00"

    Under status: "Rejected".

    I feel conned. What a joke.

    Just checked again, $40 is pending. Although it’s showing on the click before the one I actually went through with the purchase on, according to my records.

    • If using a browser, login to your Shopback account. Go to Cashback overview. Look for Click Activity at the top of the table of transactions and click on it. Find the related click through for the transaction in question. Click on that entry and then click on Report a Missing Cashback.
      If you don't have the click through tracked then there's a option for reporting missing cashback on the Cashback overview page.

  • Joined eBay Plus on 24 May, gave the benefit of the doubt in the hope that it would eventually track, but unfortunately still nothing as of today.

    Will have to send off an email later and see how it goes. Hopefully there won't be any issues as I'm sure that like many here, I wouldn't have joined eBay Plus if it wasn't for this promo 😔

I'm so sorry for all the concern expressed here that I missed. I want to confirm with everyone here, I am committed to getting this fixed up for everyone who participated in this, so please don't think that this isn't my number one priority. eBay have yet to confirm when this will be resolved, but I have been working on compiling the details of everyone who has reached out so every single community member who reaches out will be seen to individually.

    • I’ve sent in multiple missing cashback claims lodged via the app 6 days ago and I have gotten no response at all. Do not trust shopback anymore and would strongly advise against using their service. Cash rewards is superior in every aspect

        Hey mate, thanks for the support, it truly means the world to me. I've learned heaps from this process and hoping to always be a better support for this community.

        As for your q, we do run end-to-end testing and only give the green light if the testing is reliable. Sometimes there are anomalies and things we can't account for as is expected, but we never expect the bumps in the road to be this big.

        Massive learnings from this one, so I can only thank everyone who's taken the time get in touch.

  • managed to get my eBay plus membership cancelled & refunded (as said by eBay) on one of the account out of two, - not as good as getting $40 cashback for both account, but I was sort a loosing hope on Shopback actually being able to get me $40 cashback for two accounts.

    Cannot get refund on the other eBay plus account for some reason

        back story

        I didnt get $30 GC from my signup presumably because "it was not an auto renewal, instead a new subscription".
        Dont ask me how many times I had to chat with them and talk random stuff, and listen to their BS excuses.
        Complained to eBay so so many times, gotten no useful reply at all. I think after a week now they might have ended up giving up on retaining me as eBay plus member on that account.

        also decided to cancel one of the past orders in May, and return them under eBay plus free shipping before doing this. cause Why not ? I will also probably loose $3 from that sale which was under SB challenge of $15 min spend but will be returned

        That being said I still CANNOT manage to get eBay plus refunded on the other account

  • Received a email reply from shopback today and the tracking has been manually updated to my account showing $40 cashback pending after putting in a missing cashback application. Hopefully they've managed to fix things.

      • The problem as many had said to lodge missing cashback claim you need an order id but there simply isn't one.

              @DoctorCalculon: Hey all, I've asked that the team remove the format requirmenets for claims with eBay Plus so that we don't run into this issue. This should be fixed up shortly and you'll be able to submit claims using the transaction ID, "ebayplus", or whatever detail you'd like to include. The claim will be tracked to your click history so it doesn't need to be exact. Thanks again for the callout!
