Didn’t realise imgbb sells Ozito 🙃

    • +1

Sorry. Doing it too quickly without reviewing

      • All g, I did the same with my recent deal as well haha

  • Worth it for the batteries alone.

    • If you sell off the skins it would be worth it for sure. Probably end up being paid to take the batteries if you sell the skins and chargers

Hmm.. 2.5's are a bit small for a mower. Guess that's why they are clearing them..

    • 2.5 v18 lasts around 15 mins in the lawn mower.. the 4.0 v18 lasts around 30 this is because the 2.5 run hot in the mower. :). They give you two so its all good.

      • Yeah, this is the problem. A hot Lithium battery is a fast dieing battery.

The range on these will die fast. But no warranty claim will be successful as they still 'work' …if only for 5 seconds.

It can mow the grass at the bottom of a bonsai plant.

    • +8

Yeah, nah. It does fine. I have approx 600 sqm front and back flat yard and it does it easy.

      • +1

Likewise, i find people that are into their lawn mowers are really super duper snobby and only expect normal plebs (like me) to spend $1k.

I have this as well, 250m2 flat land, works like a charm.

        • Not a snob. A mgr on a pleb salary.

But hey I had to spend 700 on the ryobi because of my incline and needing self propelled. So all good.

  • Other bunning in WA as well you reckon?

  • +1

the line trimmer is pointless to regard as a deal with this. it's useless.

    • +4

Works perfectly fine for me. Might be useless in metre high thick rush plants though!

    • You have to practice more.

Here's a dumb video I made where I trim stuff that should not be trimmed.

      https://youtu.be/LK5G7c8vPcQ

Pretty good IMO. Worth noting it's not a line trimmer, it's a blade trimmer. Different tool, and while there is a lot of overlap, it's not meant for some things a line trimmer excels at.

      • +3

haha that video was great. I hope you did all that in your neighbours yard.

        • +1

That would have been a smarter choice!

      • +2

        Gold!

  • Is this the one on Leach Hwy? End of which line?

    • Correct, the one on the corner of Leach Hwy and Northlake Rd. Normally on the end of the asile where the sprinklers are

      • Thanks got em

I’ve got this. Does a satisfactory job. Do note though, I’ve used the hack where you thread trimmer line through the hole where the trimmer blade goes - lasts the entire job (rarely goes flying off) and you save money cause you don’t need to constantly buy ozito replacement trimmer blades.

  • Huh. Thats cheap as hell if its the 2x18v mower. Usually more than $199 on its own.

    • It is 2 x 18V/36V but I don't think they sell this mower on it's own?
This is only a 240mm cutting diameter which is tiny.
The price on the complete kit was $199 but they're both very low end tools and small batteries so not sure it's a great package really unless you only have say 50sqm of grass.

      • Yeah its hard to keep track. I got a 2x18v with 30 litre catcher last year which I thought this was. Just checked and mine has 335mm cutting diameter which is still small but does a decent job of my flat yard. 240 cutting diameter sounds nuts. Lol. I have the 4.0 batteries as well but always has plenty left over after 45 mins or so of mowing.

        • I just checked the website, it's a 330mm diameter on the mower. Thought it sounded way too small lol. May be the same as your one as it also has a 30L catcher.
The line trimmer is 240mm which seems big?
Kit details are here but the only 2 x 18V mower I can find on it's own is a 370mm diameter and 45L catcher as per here which is $239 at Bunnings but also has the larger 4ah batteries.

Well done! Was just there missed it ! Doh !

  • +1

    If only it was nationwide.

  • I have one of them kit, both machines do the trick,I have a really small patch of grass and it's nice and easy to use.
Only "downside" is that the trimmer doesn't use a wire, it uses plastic proprietary blades, $30 for a x50 genuine refill pack, eBay is mucho cheaper ofc

    • +1

Don't use the eBay / Aliexpress / cheap trimmer blades IMO. I tried some out of interest and they are garbage quality that snaps where it attaches to the trimmer.

It does appear that Ozito has terrible quality blades as of about 2 years ago, so perhaps some are still floating around. The pic on the Bunnings site is of the old style blade, whereas the new ones have a shiny surface, and no raised moulding bump near the attachment end.

The newer / genuine blades are pretty good and in my experience, really hard to get them to come off. I am not exactly gentle on them either, and they last a long time - about 30 minutes of continuous cutting, or in my case, a few months of fortnightly use per blade. I have a corner block, and do a fair chunk of trimming each mow. My 50 pack will last 10 years…

They are blades not line though, so not meant for continual hitting against concrete or sharp edges. They work ok for edging if you can be accurate with the blade, but IMO for that sort of thing a line trimmer is the correct tool.

Wonder if they can price match with other stores?

    • +1

      They usually don't

    • +1

      Bunnings policy explity states "no"

  • Has anyone actually used one of these? They're plastic toys. The plastic on my son's Husqvarna Toy Lawnmower is better than these. Then again the toy mower was $60 blower was $50.

    The real thing, $4500+

    • I am not sure what do you mean by "these"? I have an Ozito lawn mower, also 36v but the larger version and it works really well. Sure more plasticy than my previous petrol lawn mower, but it goes through our thick buffalo grass with no issues.

  • Available in Vic?

    • I just looked at the Nunawading store, still $199

      • Yep I think $199 is a special as well, can only hope if your local has trouble flogging stock they reduce them further. They'll be snapped up in no time though

  • +1

Staff at the Melville store entrance said they’re all gone. Staff at Bibra Lake store said it’s a store specific clearance and other stores won’t price match. But there are still about 7 left at bibra lake at the original $199 price for what it’s worth

  • Does the mover use the same blades as the trimmer? Do the blades keep flying off?

  • Checked with store, this is soldout

  • chape

  • Checked my local from where I posted the last deal. 3 left and still $199.

  • got one from SA local store but staff refused to price match said it’s the store promotion/decision. Just finished the mowing work, good mower. A bit plastic felling but did the job properly. Not a big yard, lawn area about 70m2.

    • ? So you bought the set for $199?

      • It's hard to even pay the already reduced price $199 which already was a bargain when you see it's been sold at $99 somewhere else 😁😅

        • What was the RRP? The mower by itself is the same as this in a kit?

          • @wtfnodeal: I'm not 100% sure but it might have been around $299 mark given the skin only lawnmower of this size alone costs around $200 and the batteries around $35 each and charger the same . The trimmer although is a cheapest one that doesn't lets you turn it into an edger probably worth $50

      • Yes, I bought today after seeing this at $199. It’s still cheaper if you compare the mower only.

        • Even the cheapest lawn mower in the range is now $249 (purchased yesterday), so I went and got this today.

          Differences:
          * This is 2 battery (2.5*2) - both required to start apperently vs 1 battery (4).
          * You can change cutting size on the fly with the handle, the other you have turn it over and push the wheel bar springs up (turned off of course)
          * Slightly better powering/braking mechanism, it is a full size bar where the other is like a handle on the size of the starter box (sorry not sure of terminology)
          * Catch is a bag on this one rather than a plastic catcher like the other (PITA to put it together if you can't click it together properly)

  • is the mower any good?
I'm looking to replace my 20year old petrol mower that sometimes start, sometimes doesnt.
only use to cut the grass infront of the house which is just a small trip..

    • +2

Mower does the job, but if you feel less endowed using it due to the lack of petrol engine throbbing sound, you can make loud "bahbahbahbahbahbah" noises up and down your lawn to compensate.

      • you should hear me making turbo sounds when driving

  • This mower is an overkill for me, I have less than 100m2 of lawn.

  • +1

I watched a guy persistent with one of these for about 30 min. It was hilarious.

It was a rental property. He hadn't mowed the lawn for some time. Ending up getting one of these and everytime he moved it a bit forward, it would cut out. He persisted untill it was flat. He got a small area done.

About a week later some contractor came round and did it.

    • Did he know how to adjust the height? These are OK on a normal lawn, but over-grown buffalo would be a different matter.

    • These actually cause patchy grass due to them having no weight to press down into the bed and power through lawns such as buffalo and Kikuyu.

But whatever.. I'm only a gardener.
