  • Do u think it'll really be in stock in-store?

  • +1

Black, white and blue also for the same price

    • +1

Ah thanks, did not notice those.

  • Is this a new model controller or just some new colours? I haven't been following the news but I know there was some E3 replacement announcements going on yesterday.

    • +2

Same models, new colours. Can also get design your own these days now Xbox Design Labs has arrived in Australia. Base price is $109.95 however

      https://xboxdesignlab.xbox.com/en-au/

      • $99.95

        (Base price with no upgrades)

        • +10

Ordered one today and they tack on a $10 tax charge at the end

          • +6

@MBix: Yeesh, a taste of America right there.

            • @silverrat23: Yeh I don't quite know if it's an intended charge as it didn't change even when I added on metallic triggers etc

          • @MBix: I've reported this today via Twitter. I'm pretty sure that's illegal in Australia…

            https://twitter.com/mrmckeb/status/1536572472577105920

            • @mrmckeb: Yeh I thought that to be the case too. The fact it's a standard $10 no matter what addons you order with the controller makes it even more confusing. It looks like a company called Digital River Ireland is who it's outsourced to and is who is all over the invoice I received. From all the articles I read as well everywhere mentioned $99.95 so seems like it's a surprise to most people. On one hand might be as simple as it's been overlooked on the other hand Microsoft is a massive company so you'd think people shouldn't miss stuff like this so easily.

      • At least that looks to be a way of actually getting an Xbox controller (and a Christmas present for my son)

        • This is true. It's strange the Deep Pink controller wasn't released in Australia either. There is a lead time of 3-4 weeks for Design labs apparently, but no doubt would be an amazing christmas present to receive! Can even have it laser engraved with his name / gamertag!

    • +1

They arent new, but are the newest of the "non black stock" colours.

Xbox Lab, which allows fully customised controllers was just announced. They have been available for a while in the US, but have just launched here. Really cool idea if your willing to pay the premium.

      • +1

Cool idea, but not that interesting until user art can be submitted

  • I'm in the market for a new PC controller but have been eyeing the Razer Wolverine Ultimate lately…

    • +1

same, though the wolverine ultimate looks like overkill to me!

    • +1

Note that it's primarily an xbox controller that also works on PC. It doesn't let you fully customise the layout as you would be able to with a PC controller. It doesn't even let you use the normal Razer software.

The most customisation you can do is swapping standard buttons to different positions on the controller. You cannot map a keyboard key to a button, for example.

A friend got one and was very disappointed to find this out, as none of the reviews they read mentioned it. They would have got a standard controller, or an actual PC controller, if they knew.

If you just want a fancy controller with swappable sticks and dpad, and pretty lights on it, you'll probably be happy with it.

  • +2

I bloody well hope they actually have stock, my local BIG W has had no Xbox Controllers at all since October last year! Yet PS5 and Nintendo Switch controllers are well stocked.

  • +9

    Electric Volt?
Looks more like tennis ball green.

    • That's so accurate!!

    • +1

      Shame it's not fluffy
      .

  • +1

ordered regular black version from Good Guys Commercial almost a month ago, still not here… it's $72 on TGGC btw, but if there is stock for $79 just go ahead and pick it up ASAP.

    • wtf it ain't arriveol

  • Might pick up the red one despite not having an xbox series s

  • +4

Seems to be no stock for any colours online :(

  • +2

Yeah can confirm no stock whatsoever in Melbourne and surrounding suburbs. Werribee apparantly showing stock for the Red controller. (Too far for me)

  • Shows no stock both online and in-store… Sad…

  • Yep, no stock apart from Werribee. What a joke

  • Lol, no stock anywhere…

  • +1

    Anyone get one?

""If this product is not available to add to cart, we have sold out of our online launch stock. More stock will be available in store on Thursday 16th June."

I think it never had any stock.

    • Same I had doubts they would have had stock considering the wide shortage across retailers.

    • Was in 2 different stores 1 and 2 days ago. They never had stocks.

    • I asked Big W to check stocks, good news there is nothing in New South Wales so don't have to go in to try to look for it.

  • No stock… Bugger

  • logged in and checked the site at 7am, couldn't place an order :/

  • Will this work with xbox one s?

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

Yes, the new controllers work with older consoles. Too bad Big W have no stock. :(

      • There is one near me in white but that's my least preferred…it must get horribly dirty.

        • +1

Not at all, I've had multiple white ones. I have a broken one at the moment that's just been sitting at the back of my TV unit since probably before covid and it's still bright white.

  • There is no stock at all in Bris, that is terrible. Why are they still advertising if there is no stock at all??

    • Because it's part of the big toy sale that's happening in-store from Thursday.

    • there was just the blue one and only at Mt Ommaney when I checked at 7am this morning. hope more are available from Thurs.

  • +1

    Bait advertising…

  • is this a mistake listing? they clearly never had any stock…

    • No, it was posted last night before we knew the stock situation.

      • why did bigw list them "on sale" with no stock?..

  • It's tempting to neg this on the basis of no stock online.

I have my doubts about anything actually reaching the stores as well.

  • My order got cancelled for for click and collect Red color. what a joke this is..

  • -3

    Now, a few questions:

    • What will be the in-store price?
    • Will it be possible to C/C or is it purely "in-store"?
    • If yes, will the "online-only" price apply to C/C?

And the biggest one - Will they in fact have these in stock at all?

  • I don't think they have stock online nor I think they will have stock in-store. The controllers have been out of stock everywhere for a while now and I noticed my local EB has put up a sign saying that they expect the controllers to be in stock around 15/07 so it's unlikely Big W will have stock before then.

  • +1

Thanks op, I was already aware of this as I was on at 7am this morning trying to get a controller. I managed to get a white one as it was showing stock after clicking your link.

  • +2

The white ones are in stock FYI just ordered 2

    • +1

Got one, though was after Electric Volt. Thanks!

      • I know, what's a guy gotta do to get a green controller!

  • +1

As others have stated, White is available.
For me it was available delivery only on the morning of the 14th. I didn't want to pay shipping though or buy two for free shipping, it did show up at one store in Sydney, Merrylands, I wasn't going to risk my life going there. By the afternoon it was available from more stores, so I assumed it was slowly being shipped out the stores to be on shelves for the 16th. This morning on the 15th it was available for pickup at my local. I ordered it and have just picked it up.

I don't know why they even bothered advertising these in such a big catalogue. Hardly seen an Xbox Controller in store all year.

  • Asked my local big w in hurstville and they confirmed they've only ever had the white controllers, never saw other colours

  • Bait advertising, knew they weren't going to have the stock, no stock of any colour for 400kms of my location.

  • +3

Delivery is up and available for Robot White. Also available for C&C at select stores (Robot White only). Just checked a few stores around SEQ - found around 5 stores with stock.

Check your area by clicking "find a store"

    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/xbox-wireless-controller-rob…

    • Got one for CC

  • Only white in stock near me, but wanted to find a colored one
BigW must have known they had no stock coming but still kept this as an advertised deal :/

  • Just picked up my Robot White gamepad and had a chat with the store manager. He checked their system and confirmed the Xbox controllers were among the delayed products, which means there were issues with dispatching them. He believes they will be distributed to the stores at a later date but the prices are gonna change…

  • Some new stock available today at my store in QLD

  • I bundled this deal with the Entertainment Book 5% Off Big W Gift Cards offer, bought 2 for $150.10 (delivered)
