$50. Meh. Was worth it for $100.

    • now your net gain is $45.
3 x better than the crappy cba amazon steal

  • +21

This company will be insolvent in less than 6 months.

    • +6

Why anyone is okay giving away 5% of their pay is beyond me.

      • -5

Well that's not how it works, so I'm not surprised it's beyond you.

        • +4

Theres a 5% fee. So how does it not work like that?

        • +4

Whatever amount you cash advance you have to pay 5% intrest on. If you need to use this service. You have serious financial issues.

Also you can only contact them via EMAIL…… good luck with that.

          • +2

@Wizard: Thank you for understanding my point.

        • +1

I understand the difference, but giving away 5% of your pay to get it early seems like highly irresponsible personal fiscal management.

          • -1

@cook99: Get down off your high horse. I can't hear you from up there.

          • +1

@cook99: I beg to differ. It's $20M powerball tonight. I need the advance for the tickets. Its an investment

            • +1

@illiterate: I can't fault this plan, good luck, although I don't think you need it, you've got it all worked out 😉

      • +2

No one is okay with it, you do it because you have no food or a bill is due.

      • +5

Not sure why you would downvote this post. Take their $50 and then leave. I hate companies like this but I'm not saying no to free money (especially if it quickens their demise).

        • +7

Very fair point, my hate and downvote is directed at the company and all the other bottom feeders like them. They prey and profit off of vulnerable people as a business model, all while marketing themselves as some sort of white knights doing society a service.

Frankly it's gross, and I'd love to seen them gone.

The people who have to use this service are only going to be further financially burdened as a result of the fees, it's a viscous cycle which is horrible.

Absolutely not trying to be on a high horse, I'd love to see a better system to help those in need instead of vultures picking from the carcass.

          • +4

@cook99: I think the problem is that your downvote is not in the spirit of the post, the post is to share a great deal which it is. if you hate the company so much wouldnt you rather them lose 50 bucks?

          • +2

@cook99: The more people take their free money the faster this completely stupid company will be gone

          • +1

            @cook99:

They prey and profit off of vulnerable people as a business model, all while marketing themselves as some sort of white knights doing society a service.

This virtue signalling nonsense from all manner of organisations while meanwhile they have another agenda is everywhere. Even Woolworths claims to be doing the right thing for the environment by simply charging now for bags. At the end of the day they make available no way to deliver groceries without a bag, and they are simply charging more.

It’s insufferable. You’re absolutely right. People should call it out more often.

          • @cook99: I don't understand this.
They are providing a service and charging you money for it because they need to pay employees and build products to provide you that service. You have the option of not using it.
How is this bottom feeding etc. It's essentially what every other platform as a service model does from Airbnb to Uber to Afterpay.

            • +2

@pompompom: Airbnb offer a platform for people to rent out short term accommodation.
Uber offer a platform for people seeking transportation.
Afterpay I think create almost as many problems but I'll give them a partial pass as spend smoothing is slightly less offensive, although I still don't like them.
MyPay are effectively loan sharks who's targeted customers are desperate, unable to make ends meet that week, only exacerbating the cycle of debt.
I understand they have employees, but the product they provide as a service is fundamentally the problem, hence my dislike.

    • who cares, 45 bucks is 45 bucks!

  • +2

Haha I recognized OP as they posted the Coles Prepaid Mastercard Hack before. Give you a vote for this! Thanks:)

  • +1

    What if I don't have a wage?

    • no luck then

    • +1

easy, you get to loan 0% of $0!

      (but with a 5% fee)

  • -6

These should be banned on ozb.

    • +3

Not if you ask the thousands of members that cashed in last night and perhaps throughout the day with referrals

      • This still promotes them, “there is no such thing as bad publicity”

    • Same as gambling which is banned. They do understand that the economy may go to a cashflow problem soon so this is just their investment to get a stronger foot on the market.

  • +3

Did it last night with no issues at all. Just make sure to use the referral links otherwise you wont receive the bonus.

  • already in the referral system not a new deal

    • +1

Confirmed with MOD this is a new deal since it has an expiry date.

      • -7

lol ok, essentially the same post was deleted earlier today but that's those crazy mods for you

        • No need to be obnoxious and rude chickenface.

It was removed, we discussed internally and decided it was a temporary offer that ends June 30 instead of a permanent offer as per our Deal Posting Guidelines. As it's temporary it's fine to be posted and we let the OP know.

            • @[Deactivated]: lol and now my negative vote for this deal got removed because in an offtopic comment i laughed at a mod

not to be too obnoxious and rude, but what crazy system!

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: Yes, it was. Pull your head in

  • +6

People who use this service are total MORONS. Full stop.

  • +13

Made $200 for free. Yes it’s a garbage Company but why not rob them!

    • +2

      Agreed, $295 profit for me.

  • thanks op, have got my $95 this morning but was a bit worrying during the night becasue of the delay issue.

    • Saw some people have the Osko rejection issue last night but eventually received the fund.

  • +1

    Rubbish

  • -1

I put my referral link into the pool, not sure if anyone can pick it up

    • -1

Can't ask for it just have to hope someone uses it in the randomiser—> Please use referral randomiser below, don't put referral requests or solicitation in the comments.

      • -1

        Not asking actually, just hoping

  • Not a deal. Has always been $50 since it first started up.

  • Weirdly it won’t let me pay back early with credit card?

    • +1

Balance transfer? It’s basically paying off debt with debt. Likely need a debit card

  • How can this be used with an UP bank? It’s backed by Bendigo bank but I don’t have a Bendigo access ID number and Up doesn’t appear in the bank list. Is this GG?

    • +1

yes there is a list of supported banks posted in the expired thread from yesterday

    • Yep, tough luck.

    • How can this be used with an UP bank?

It can't be they don't support screen scraping and MyPayNow hasn't got open banking support.

  • +3

No luck for Up bank users, damn.

  • +8

I work in credit, and anyone thinking these pay day cash advances will not impact future lending applications, are fools!
If you're not able to manage your finances and need to have multiple "before pay" top ups, think how this is seen by a any creditor.
Be warned, it's a slippery slope.

    • +1

What if you have just one accounting for 0.001% of your funds

      • +2

It's not about the percentage of the pay day cash advance against your wage, it's the perception that you're unable to manage your finances and now in need of urgent funds.

        • +1

Should be pretty obvious most of us aren't dying for $100

        • +2

I understand where you’re coming from but I assume most of the people taking advantage of this promo will have a decent sum of money in their account at the time of borrowing the $100. Surely a once off thing like this, which is repaid instantly, wouldn’t have much/any impact in the big scheme of things?

    • +1

I'd like to think most people here aren't doing multiple before pay top ups at all and only the single $100 top up to gain the sign up bonus. So is 1 an issue?
Now given they claim to not do a credit check then wouldn't it be fair to say that once this one time payment is beyond the 3 month statement cycle that creditors won't even know this?

In saying that I think anyone who believes they might be thinking of refinancing in the next few months should give this deal a miss.

      • +4

Correct, we assess on the most recent 90 days. Just my 2 cents, use it, don't use it.

  • +4

    Should be illegal

  • +4

Nope. Even if you genuinely need it, it just makes a bad situation worse.

  • I was applying for a home loan and the bank said after-party, zip, payday loans affect your financial rating even if you pay them back on time.

As the main reason for this site is to save money and get decent bargains, this could make life harder depending on if you need a loan or not.

  • +4

    'The first one is free'

Just say no to loan sharks and payday lenders.

I'm not giving them access to my bank accounts for $50.

  • +2

    not a good idea

  • +1

Slowly but surely recovering those ASX losses. Huge thanks to those random Ozbargainers out there!

Feel sorry for the neg commenters missing out and putting folks off for no good reason. The average Ozbargainer isn't sticking with it after the bonus.

50 dollars is 50 dollars, even better if can take it off these sharks!

  • +4

F payday loans. They prey on the financially illiterate and those who can afford to pay back their loan the least.

  • +1

Always tell my fellow bargainers.. when something's free you are the product.

And here payday loan companies like this one may take advantage of your details. Take your privacy seriously read the terms prior to signing up.

    • My bet is they are more pumping subscriber numbers before 30 June. Privacy is dead anyway

  • +2

It was great to get $195 in a few minutes last night from MyPayNow

  • -1

Got stuck at the internet banking step, then it timed out and won't proceed past this:

We're sorry but we're unable to process your request as you did not meet our automated assessment criteria.

Please try again after your next pay.

    Trash

    • Their response to my email:

Our system has identified regular income deposits in your bank account, however, it has not identified sufficient transactional data to determine your advance limit.

This can often happen when accounts are made up mostly of internal account transfers, or, accounts that have a large portion of income withdrawn upon it being deposited.

You're welcome to check back after your next payday, as there may be sufficient data for our system to determine an advance limit.

We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to see you using MyPayNow soon!

Stupid. I have 4x accounts linked to my internet banking. I get paid into an online saver – surely they should check all the accounts given they have my full login details?

  • does ones referral code change every time you log in or is used? i had my original code and about 8 people clicked on it but i didn't receive anything $

  • +1

These companies should be nuked, what kind of socio-economics are we promoting if these are commonplace?

    • +1

      This.
It's bad enough people are living paycheck to paycheck, these companies allow a whole new level and take a slice off the most vulnerable.
