Xbox Series S + 24 Months Xbox Game Pass Ultimate $28/Month for 24 Months (Min Cost $672, Postpaid Customers Only) @ Telstra

141

We're knocking $5 a month off the price of the Xbox Series S with Xbox All Access from Telstra for EOFY.

Normally, we’d be offering the Xbox Series S for $33 per month over 24 months. For EOFY, we’re knocking $5 a month off the price, making it $28 per month over 24 months. That saves you $120 over the 24 months (min cost $672 when you stay connected for 24 months plus existing plan charges).

I've also been told by our gaming team that we also have the Xbox Series X in stock if you're so inclined.

    misleading title

    Should be $27 in title

    Stop misleading people

    • That's now fixed up, thanks folks.

Article is also incorrect. $5 off per month would make it $28. Not $27

        $33 - $5 = $28

It's so Monday right now it's painful.

  • Wow bargain….

Yep, the education level at Telstra is amazing.

This "Normally, we’d be offering the Xbox Series S for $33" and this "we’re knocking $5 a month" to this "making it $27"

  • +1

Bit of a shame the Series X isn't included.

    • OP: "I've also been told by our gaming team that we also have the Xbox Series X in stock if you're so inclined"

As per the post, Xbox Series X isn't being discounted in the EOFY sales, but we do have them in stock if you're keen to pick one up. I understand getting your hands on one is still tricky!

        • Yeah, that was my point - it doesn't include the combined 'discount'. All good though for people that want an X quickly.

    • they don't want ot make the already hard to get seires X even harder to get lol so they wouldn't discount that.

  • So you get a Series S + 2 years of game pass? and then at the end of the 2 years once its paid out you keep the Series S? Is that how this works?

  • These have been pretty cheap during ebay sales or on the 2nd hand market. Not sure how these are much of a deal aside from it coming with gamepass even then is it a good deal?

    • +2

I think its geared towards the market that dont have the $500 or whatever you might need up front.

    • +1

Shut up and take it while it is cheap. The price just went up to $28 from $27. By tonight it will be $45 i guess :)

Cheaper to buy the console for $414 from this deal and 35 months of Game Pass Ultimate for $81 from this deal. Total cost $495 and you get a longer subscription to Game Pass Ultimate.

    • +2

This deal is clearly aimed at people who can't save or have no money but need a console lol

      • +1

Have no money but can afford the most expensive Telco…

        • +1

Pay for the most expensive Telco hence have no money saved

      • not really a deal then is it

      • -2

        people who…need a console

The most millennial thing I've ever read.

        • Chill mate, I was just generalising it like people who need to have the newest phones, laptops cars etc

  • +1

Luke, will paying this monthly go towards Telstra Plus?

    • it should
anything on your bill goes towards TP

Personally, if I'd get a Series S, I would go to gumtree and hunt for the second hand ones for sub-300 ish then get a XGP using that hack. Cost less than 400 dollars in total.

  • Hold back sales of the Series X and make the Series S cheaper and easier to get.

Public snap up the Series S, realise how bad it is compared to the Series X, Microsoft, Ebay and Gumtree clap.

The marketing geniuses at Microsoft who cooked up this strategy must have got massive bonuses and payrises haha

To be fair, Series S is good for those who are still on a 1080p TV.

      • If we got it for the American price it would have been a good value, except they got it for US$299 base price and we got it for A$499 which was +A$50 on top of a bad exchange rate.

If it was closer to the Canadian price, with sales it would have been a great A$349 console.

        • Really bugs me when people do these comparisons and don't include GST. US price doesn't include sales tax. AUD one does.

          $299 USD = $431AUD

          Then add GST; $431 + $43.10 = $474.1

          So $499 - $474.1 = $24.90 more than the US price.

Not bad considering the economy of scale, consumer rights and logistics differences between the US and Australia.

          • @PainToad: I did include GST, the XSS was +A$50 at launch on top of exchange & GST.

A$449 would have been the same as US$299 after exchange & GST, with room for increased shipping and cost of sales.

The console came out in Nov 2020, the exchange has worsened since then.
