MSI 750W MPG A750GF 80+ Gold Power Supply $100 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Umart

131

I've been putting together my first PC build and found Umart had most components listed near the cheapest prices listed on pcpartpicker.
With two items shown cheaper at some other online stores with not the best reviews, I considered looking at slightly different options for these which I could pick up from Umart.

I found this MSI modular 750W is going for only $100, down from $149.

The other surprise I found was the MSI Pro B660M-A LGA 1700 D4 mATX Motherboard for $177

So what? Not everyone needs 850w.

Doesn't hurt to have that extra headroom, especially if you plan on upgrading in the future.

        • the efficienty on these gold supplies has sweet spots and they publish the curves on their web sites….too large a supply for the load and you aren’t in the efficiency sweet spot.

Exactly my thought, and I took a 850W Gold last year in order to prepare for RTX40 series, only to notice that news coming out saying these cards require 1000W…

          cries

          • @jianh: I did the exact same thing…

          • @jianh: Crypto bros selling 1000w plat/titanium on marketplace in brisbane for $150

Trying to get a gold 750w for $50 tho :(

yeah no deal bro, its not single rail

  • just a heads up for this one, the fan is ball bearing so you're almost always gonna have noise coming out of this one. i also dont think it has a 0rpm mode but cmiiw

    • Yes, I can hear the sound coming out of my A850GF psu. I just have to get down and place my ear right next to it first. My Noctua 140mm rear fan is louder on low rpm.

    • I have the 850W version, case fans, GPU fans, CPU fans, they all make some noise - esp when under load.

      • y'all are right. my fan curve is pretty gentle though, most of the time doing browsing I can actually hear my A850GF as both my case fans and GPU are at 0rpm. i know it's not loud but i didn't expect it to make even that much noise.

I wish I had a quiet space where I could appreciate hearing the sound of a psu fan

          • @Ntense: I was gonna say, given the nature of PSUs being in an enclosed unit in another enclosed unit, even quite noisy fans are very much negated. Fan noise has never been a point of purchase for me personally.

    • I have this exact one and haven't noticed any noise out of the ordinary.

for the motherboard …seems gigabyte b660m aorus pro ax are $199 at the moment on amazon and scorptec, so you get the built in ax wireless with magnetic mount antenna for an extra $22 and also leaves a slot free if you do need wireless compared to the MSI board , it uses intel for the wireless also , just finished a build with i5 12500 windows 11, works a treat but i’m using the onboard graphics not a separate card.

starting to like the M size boards as i’m strapped for room so need smaller case compared to full size.

  • Thanks OP grabbed one.
