  • but no more shopback

    • Cashrewards is showing 4% for G series atm.

      • Sorry i mean 13% like last week.
        But yeah better than nothing

  • The Alienware deal was the best

    • Alienware only wins on its 'premium' chassis. The G15 is superior overall. They have the same motherboard and cooling system.

      • how is the G15 superior overall? cheers.

      • Check the TGP though.

        Always check the TGP.

        • How to check? The spec never say how many watt
Very confusing why not just do one for all

          • @CyberMurning: check reviews online if there are any…

in some instances i had to ask Dell chat… but sometimes they tell you the TDP which is total processor+graphics. If they do, then simply subtract 45W to find the TGP.

            • @meong: @4iedemon
see the review i posted, the guy said 140w

              • @CyberMurning: thats good then… usually its 115W + 25W boost meaning that it is by default 115W but if the CPU is not being utilised then it will allow the extra 25W

Just fyi, the equivalent AW15 with the same specs was $2600-2700 through Dell eBay.

I would rather get the AW as its easily a better resale value.

      • Also Alienware deal was significantly cheaper. Best bang for buck with premium chassis

  • So it only has one NVME Slot but it supports thunderbolt external SSDs??

    • Yes you can only replace the original ssd.
and its very loud to me.

  • this is the review, i think

read some of the comments - hmm some are bad

    • That's something to consider. I reckon almost every Dell laptop has been having overheating issues. It would be good if a Legion 5 deal as good as the Dell ones appears…

      • levovo 30% off plus 12% cashback today. see other thread. lets hunt legion 5/5pro!

        • Same config as G15 is still around 1k more, with cashrewards a bit less…no deal

          https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5…?

          • @Nefe: agree but have you checked the teardown of this dell - cheapo inside i feel sad $2k only get me this kind of quality - kind of spending $10 for a lettuce

            • @CyberMurning: We gotta wait for a deal like the one in March (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/690331)
I was broke back then. Hopefully, something good will show up, although usually this is the ideal period of the year for nice deals.

              • @Nefe: Yeah but its amd. I dont think its good idea to buy laptop without thunderbolt 4 in 2022.
The speed differences is just too great. 40kbps vs 10 or 20
