  • Wow…I just bought this on Friday for $269 :( Great price though

    • bad luck mate. can you return it?

  • Has anyone had any luck combining this with the EUFY smart lock?

  • Major security flaw with Eufy, you can reset the cameras with a button and disable them, also no cloud back up so if your gear gets stolen easy to reset and all footage is gone… its all over the web and read the reviews

    • This would only be for some of the cameras with storage on the camera itself. Wouldn’t be with the doorbell as everything is stored on the gateway. I think you have to be careful when you generalise across all their products. There is a subscription that can be purchased for cloud backup if that is what you want, for the door bell anyway.

Yes footage is stored in gateway but if someone resets doorbell while still being within the range of Gateway, the camera will be removed from gateway and also all the past footage of the camera is also deleted from gateway

I bought this initially but then returned it immediately when I tested the above flaw is still not resolved. If I had to buy the subscription anyways I would much prefer Ring doorbell which is what I bought then. Couldn’t be more happier

Thanks; because of your comments, I decided not to order it.
For those of you who interested to read, the following is the discussion about this flaw.

      • Good point, though I've hardwired mine and I'll probably build a 3D print enclosure with a proper locking mechanism. Usage wise, i'm very happy with the camera.

You can disable any security camera if you can reach it! These will already have detected motion and alerted user by then. If you try to remove the camera it will set off an alarm in the camera. Footage is stored in the Homebase, which should be out of sight in your house.

  • How does this work with Google Assistant? Considering to move from Ring

    • +1

Limited support for Google Assistant/Home (at the moment) - you'll get live feed on voice command but that's it. It was an issue where Google Assistant API did not support triggers and chiming but that's now available so it's just a matter of time for Eufy to develop for it.

Better support for Alexa however (door chime support etc).

Thanks OP, got it price matched in a local JBHiFi

  • Did this just sellout? Reverted back to higher price…

    • oos now :(

I've had it for about 24 hours now, I've owned a few Eufy products and am extremely happy with this one (wide camera angle, motion sensor, quality of device, responsiveness on the app). I've hardwired it to the wall and have on order a third party bracket so won't have to worry about charging and will make it a bit more difficult for thieves to run off with it.
