Nice. Does "powershare" mean it can charge via the type c port ?

    • +5

I have this series laptop for work, and yes you can charge it via conventional power pack or via USBC

    • +2

means can charge other devices from that port (often while off)

wow - lots of refurb deals lately, good to see people addressing the growing issue of e-waste.

If they haven't been banged up they are pretty good machines. Top of the line Dell when they are new which is on par with Lenovo X270 etc and T440s

  • Hi what is condition of these very good, good or crap.

  • Is the RAM upgradable or can M.2 SSD be inserted ?

  • Been needing one for using patient management software as I'm a chiro, thanks OP. Keen to get this and see how well it fares as it's all web-based.

    • +2

Can't you just use a Chromebook or even an iPad if it's all web based?

      • +1

If that patient management software support chromebooks or ios apps…

        • +1

Chromebook is just a laptop with ChromeOS installed on it. It should not be any different from running Chrome (the browser) on a Windows laptop if the software is fully web based.

      • I am using an iPad at the moment but I'm finding it a pain with organising the informed consent forms and with multi tasking. Maybe in doing it wrong haha

Also web-based as in, it doesn't have an app. I have to access through a web browser.

  • 494 seems to be the renewed price elsewhere

  • Is this come with a thunderbolt 3 port as this review said it have one https://www.notebookcheck.net/Dell-Latitude-7390-i5-8350U-SS…

    • I don't think this one has it.

    • It could originally be ordered with TB3 or just standard Type-C when originally purchased from Dell.

As OP has not specified it, would have to assume no TB3 on these units.

  • This or the HP one?

    • This is going to be a better quality, well built office laptop, but it's probably been battered by office drones.

The HP one is brand new and much more powerful, but is pretty chintzy. It's also $280 more.

  • This or this?

    • +1

Bit hard to compare? One is practically double the price of the other, and therefore comes with a much better APU. One is also refurbished, the other is not.

    • +1

      Thanks didn't see that bargain

  • +1

thanks, ordered one. hope it's good

Waiting for a deal on par with this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/707455

    • Yeah, that was good.

In hindsight it was awesome. Regret only buying it for one of my kids :-) Great condition, including the battery.

    • Got the non 2 in 1. Checked out the battery is new from earlier this year. The SSD is a Samsung EVO OEM version PM961

  • How are the batteries on these? I own a xiaomi air 13 2016 and the batteries on that last an hour nowadays

    • Battery degradation is inevitable - if you got six years out of your 2016 laptop you're doing pretty well.
A reasonable expectation for 80%+ battery life is about 3 years. These laptops might be performing well but realistically there's a good chance they'll need a battery change before the technology is obsolete.

Hence the better question is, how difficult is it to change the battery? Some devices, like Surface tablets, are practically impossible. Other devices are relatively straight-forward as long as you're careful.

  • Is the keyboard backlit?

Hi there OP. Just wanted to ask a few questions:
    * What are the overall conditions of these laptops, and specifically what is the battery condition like?
    * Being a touch screen, would there be any scratches?
    * Any chance of a bit more history where the batch has come from? E.g. education, office, building site (gives an idea of previous use).
    * How old is the oldest - newest you could receive?

    Thanks!

all gone for that price? It says "The gift certificate or coupon code is invalid" when I enter the coupon

  • Sigh. All gone.

  • Must have missed out, any chance of more being allocated?

  • Does anyone know if this is compatible with the stylus pen?

    • +1

I have one from my previous job, yes, the 2-in-1 7390 is compatible with the Stylus. I have the Dell P557W pen that I use. It aslo has the magentic strip to "hold" the stylus. It is reasonable at doing this.

      • That's good to hear but this one isn't the 2 in 1 but the manual says it does support it but was hoping to hear from someone that already owns this device

        • My apologies, I skimmed the comments and thought it was the other way around. The doco for Dell Active Pens only lists 2-in-1 devices so I would presume this one does not.

          • @Big-Chaps: Can confirm that touch-only devices don't have the stylus integration, at least the newer versions of these (doubt it would be different for older ones given this is the same style matte touch panel).

    • Doesn't look like it - that's the 2-in-1 I confused this one with.

  • +1

Bit of feedback, I think these questions could all be side-stepped if the Dell Asset Tag was listed in the offer. Even just a single example was provided when multiple devices are available would make it easier.

    • +1

a non-convertible clamshell laptop, not to be confused with the Latitude 7390 2-in-1

      No kidding!

      • +1

the amount of people confusing it with that just in this comments justifies that guy mentioning it :D

  • aww sold out right when i convinced the missus

    • +1

Don't ask the missus, remember now "My Wallet, My Choice".

      • no i meant convinced her to buy it for herself as her current laptop is like 6-7 years old

        • What's wrong with it?

        • her current laptop is like 6-7 years old

You didn't miss a deal. She is the (best) deal.

          • @netjock: i had to help her do up the resume on it and just using it was killing me [compared to my much faster desktop] so im now on the lookout for a cheapish replacement

My feedback on this deal. I'm really happy. The laptop arrived within 10 days, the vendor Recompute were fast to dispatch, but their Auspost courier was quite slow.

Once the laptop arrived it was well packaged and undamaged. The computer itself is in excellent condition with absolutely minimal wear and tear. The BIOS reports the battery condition to be excellent.

The Dell Latitude 7390 itself is a really nice computer, the touch screen has great colours and works well and the system is fast and responsive running the pre-installed Windows 11. The system speakers are adequate, but not great compared to larger systems. The carbon fibre top cover looks great and overall has a nice presentation and solid feel.

There were a significant number of Windows Updates to run after unboxing and the computer also benefits from going to DELL and downloading their system health / maintenance tool and running those updates.

The system works fine with Windows Hello and logs in using FaceID. The system runs Office 365 very efficiently. I expect it will be perfect for it's new life being used by a senior high school student.

Thank you OP for an excellent laptop with a great warranty and low price. You have received 5 stars on Google reviews from me.

  • Had one of these for 3 years now and survived 2 long vic lockdowns being used by a 6/7 year old. Hasn't skipped a beat.

    Great laptop.
