My son's mickey oodie arrived today (mine is still on the way). I compared it with the otter oodie we bought for him last year and it's obvious this one is thinner & not as warm. Not a big deal because my son prefer a thinner one (he loves Cotton On Mickey Snugget), so does my husband. For $40, it's decent. Definitely won't pay full price for this quality.
I noticed that, after you wash the airtight packed ones + fluff them up with a gentle cold or warm tumble dry for 10-15 mins, they become thick again.
Received DC Chibi Space today. Can confirm the quality is worse than before.
It feels thinner, because the fleece is too flat, not as fluffy, which makes the surface silky smooth. I weighted, the new one is actually around 80 grams heavier, even though feels thinner. So might be on par in terms of warmth?
But it does exude strong chemical smells. No way you can wear it before washing.
And they are now packed in a vacuum sealed plastic bag. I believe they used to pack them in a fabric bag, looked much nicer.

So basically I can't go ahead and buy a replacement because I bought 4 different ones for my kids. By the time they notify me there'll be 0 left of the initial 9 they had on offer. :o There are currently only 4 of the 9 still in stock. Ah well, serves me right, I should've ordered immediately! :)
one of my oddies has very strong smell, not sure what it is, something like machine oil. Is this normal ?

No smell on either of the 2 I received today
I rewashed my one with the chemical type smell using a 4 in 1 washing powder and it smells amazing now and the quality/fluffiness is still there.

How long did it take to dry?
I put it to wash around 6pm last night and is like 95% dry as of now (the wrist part is still a tad damp) as I dried it in a warm room with the door closed.

@iNeed2Pee: Definitely not in Queensland! And yep cold temp (was like a 30min wash for me).
I initially washed it without the washing powder (called Ka pod 4 in 1) and used Softly Woolwash, but the smell was still there so on the second wash I used the 4 in 1 pod.
But to each their own. That's what worked for me.
@Ethan Bargain-Hunt: Ok great, the smell on mine was subtle, so I was able to wear mine for a few mins last night.

I will, probably, still use the wool wash because the smell isn’t strong. I will also use my large mesh bag to stop it tangling too much. I use this when I wash large delicate things or something likely to shed in the wash. My two moggies like to throw up on my rugs. They have been known to rush from the wooden floor, onto a rug, so they can throw up on it. You can get these bags from Daiso for about three bucks.
@try2bhelpful: Nope, the material on my grogu one (and other 2) is still soft and smells good. I thought the same thing with wool wash but it still had the odour after, so I had to double was the same green grogu one you've got and it's all good now :)
@try2bhelpful: I washed mine and it is taking about two days to dry in a warmed room. I had it on a pretty low spin speed.

Without the offer of alternative/ coupon code/ etc. Seems like it may have been an intentionally bait and switch with the hope we will go back and order them now at $80-90.
How is it a bait and switch if they are offering full refund for your order…? This is an incredible deal so no surprise they oversold some.

Buy anything is a bit dramatic for a cancellation. You need to calm down.
Most places won't even give you a voucher to rebuy at the same price. They're all too bad so sad. At least oodie lets you buy another for the same price albeit limited design.
People will abuse this by selling vouchers too if it applied to any oodie.
And what about the rest of us who ordered early and got our $40 oodie out of the limited selection? If we ordered later we might have been able to choose any design for $40? You sound very self-centred right now.
Look, I agree they should provide a discount code or something and perhaps improve their inventory system but they could have genuinely ran out. It's not like they still have stock of those and are selling them for the normal price as most of them as been marked "sold out". I have not seen Oodies being sold at this price before so it's historically low and the supply just can't meet the demand. It's not an excuse of course but I wouldn't say it's intentionally bait.

22/07. Looking at the shipping history, it was first processed at Eastern Creek NSW on 25/07 and perhaps shipping was faster as I'm in the same state.
I ordered on the 24th, your order was probably in before the big rush of orders but good to hear the shipping was pretty quick
Apparently it was a good idea to go with the less popular options. No love for the green Grogu meant I got mine delivered. It sounds like their inventory system got overrun by a large number of orders. It shouldn’t happen but, sometimes, it does. I wonder if it occurred because a few people returned orders, after delivery, and wanted replacements. I, suspect, if anyone tries to return one now you will, just, get a refund.

I think the people getting cancelled orders are the ones that are out of stock. I haven't read of any green Grogu orders getting cancelled :p

Those complaining about the chemically smell, nearly every piece of Adidas, Nike clothing I have bought has the initial smell.
Especially those which come out of a new plastic wrapping.You usually wash before you wear anyway. If the problem persists then you can take action.
Do not get so caught up on the smell initially out of the packaging. It should go away
It tells you to wash before use on the tag specifically so I’m sure it’s expected. Mine had a slight smell out of the vacuum sealed bag but nothing major. Should wash up nice.
Just received my green Grogu. This thing is huuuuge compared to my cheapo Yesdex which is a good thing as i always thought the cheapy was way too short.
What's the difference in quality and thickness like?
I didnt feel the difference in quality and thickness. Only those are airtight packed, you feel a bit thin at the beginning, but after I fluff them up by washing/cold or warm tumble dry for 10 mins, they are back to their thick self.

@perhaps @ChiMot bit early to judge yet but it seems the Yexdex is actually slightly thicker and warmer, but that's from just a quick try on. Could possibly just feel warmer as it's more fitted as well. Here they are side by side, the Oodie is both much longer and wider. Can't see any issues with quality or stitching like others have reported. $40 well spent i believe.

Interesting… My blue Mandalorian has only "oo" written on the tag (near the pocket) :( whereas yours has the full "oodie" logo..
I messaged them about this. They said the “oo” logo is actually their new logo and they are transitioning to this new logo.

Received the delivery of adults green grogu and kids black grogu (ordered 22/7).
Still waiting on delivery confirmation of kids purple monsters inc and blue grogu (ordered 23/7). No cancellation email yet.No chemical smells on either of the ones delivered today but I usually wash my clothes before wear anyway when I first buy them.
Bought two Yoda Oodies, one blue, one green. They turned out to be very different in quality. The blue is how I imagined Oodies to be, very thick, warm and comfortable, with no discernible odor. The green came in a vacuum sealed plastic bag and gift bag, but with a strong chemical smell. It also was thinner then the blue oodie, and had what looked like a slight burn mark on the front.
received today. lucky i did not get more than one. it is indeed really hot (unwearable on the gold coast today)
but more importantly i'm 6'5 130kg and it just looks like a regular hoodie on me. legs totally bare
good for females and kids (and the designs reflect this)
not bad for $40 tho
