  • Thanks. Got a spare for the kid. These usually take a couple of days to dry after a wash, so it's a good idea to have alternates.

    What a good first post!

Got one for the wife - Friend had one that she loved the look of but was put off by the price.

I think I’ll be in the good books for a few days (until all the other packages of random crap I’ve seen on ozbargain arrive).

  • Ozb paying for hype now? Plenty of similar design out there.

      Dressing gown with heavy marketing

    • Here's your chance to share a better value you deal 😉😉

  • +2

Always wanted to get one but couldn't justify the price.
    Grabbed two. Thanks, OP

    Edit: Brilliant first post!

  • +1

Anyone got both this and aldi/kmart ones that can review/compare?

    • Bigger & softer.

    • +2

got kmart, got oodie. Oodie gets way more use. Warmer, bigger, thicker.

    • I’m cheap so I bought the Kmart one and it keeps me warm. And I like the flap type opening for arms Vs sleeves on the Oodie.

  • +1

Is the 'spring' product actually for spring? a lighter material or something .. ? or is it related to R&M in a way that i'm not familiar with!

    • i think it's just in the name, there's a moana summer one and i don't think you're supposed to wear that in summer

      • ah yes, i didnt see the Moana summer one until you mentioned - but yup, that would be a bit of a dense idea!

  • +1

why is this so popular? is this the lowest price ever?

    • +2

      Yes.

    • +4

Warmer than a Macpac Halo, and less than half the price!

      • +1

I agree. I wear macpac halo at home and still feel cold. When I wore the Aldi version of this, it was super warm and didnt feel cold at all.

      • +5

ok bought 1 for a gift, hopefully it will not disappoint
just read recent reviews that quality has downgraded
        https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/the-oodie?rating=1

        • Thanks for sharing this. Was going to buy 2 as an impulse buy but after reading that whole page of reviews, where there was literally not a positive review I am resisting the urge to spend $80 with them. I've never owned, seen or touched one, but when every single person that reviewed commented on the poor quality stitching, how thin they are compared to the old, they smell chemically and extremely poor customer service, I'm hold off. Cheers and good luck to all!

          • +2

@calvinharrison: When every review here is positive, and we hear that they are in trouble with a competitor, it sounds like there might be a fake review campaign against them on the review sites.

        • Hmm thanks, will be returning the ones I've ordered if they're not the same as older oodies.

        • This should be in the description. Oodie quality have been known to be top notch from everyone I know who bought in the last few years. So if quality has gone down in recent months, it'll take time for the review to catch up.

  • I went the green Grogu one. i will have to hide it from my nephew; he said he would put me in a home if he caught me wearing one of these. i figure i can use it when I'm reading a book in the bedroom. we don't heat the bedroom overnight. we only run the fan heaters when we are getting changed.

Thank, OP, for that price i'm willing to give one a shot.

  • Thanks Op, i went for Taz Devil :) I have some of the cheaper ones and they feel really bad after 5 washes. Hopefully this Oodie brand is better, or at $40 all good either way.

  • Thanks OP, got the grogu green, friends, and one of the winnie pooh ones. Awesome deal.

Edit: f**k it, got Taz as well.

  • How does one create an account, login and then generate your own referral code?

FYI, I tried the referral code but it wouldn't stack with the licenced89 and it became full price.

    • You cant stack codes

      • Yep, that's what I said!

  • got Grogu and Taz ones, pretty happy

  • Thanks OP … Just ordered a Monsters Inc one! Very excited!

  • Thanks op
    Ordered 3
    Mum and sis birthday sorted
And going camping end of next week hoping itll arrive in time so I can put it to the test

  • Very good. Don’t use a heater at home. These will do :)

    Thanks OP

  • Decided to pick up one given the positive reviews and also to save on heating.

PS: For those who have access to Reward Gateway there's 5% cashback there too.

  • These are marketing hype gimmicks. Would only pay $20 or less. Work gave me one it's pretty mediocre.

    • Yes, $20 here.

    • +2

Sounds like your work cheaped out on you.

  • Two really weird things with that site - firstly only allowing one discount code at a time is weird, secondly trying to throw another item in my shopping cart with a big orange insta-buy button, man thats crap. Thankfully they have free shipping so just did two seperate orders, but still dumb.

  • +6

The star war one looks amazing https://theoodie.com/collections/teen-adult/products/oo-oodi…

    got this one

  • -7

Happy to pay power bill and keep my dignity

    • LOL

    • I've been with my man for the last 40 years. I've done worse.

  • Bought the wife the Friends green oodie and myself the black Seinfeld one at full price back in April. Didn’t like them initially but they are nice when camping and also kids like them too. $40 is a bargain

  • Wow, I can’t believe $40 includes free shipping - my Kmart Star Wars (h)oodie cost $30 and although good enough, is no way as nice as my wife’s $120 OG Oodie. For $10 more, it’s a no brainer. Bought 3, including the kids birthday present sorted. Thanks OP, upvoted for the 395th time

  • Personally recommend them as they are very thick, amazing in winter. We hardly ever use our heater.
Only shortcoming is its length, ending at knees and take a while to dry after a wash.
I think they are much better quality than the cheaper one Kmart and similar sell. Besides at $40 they are an absolute bargain. Wouldn't buy at full price.

I'm 5 ft tall. Sometimes it does help to be short :)

        • +11

Yup. It won't surprise you my uncle was a jockey :) I am female, so that is some "mitigation".

My younger brother got a t-shirt made up with "Life's too short to be unhappy" and the "Life's" has been crossed out and replaced with "I'm"; so now it reads, "I'm too short to be unhappy". I got him to get me one as well.

At another time I was at a work function and I was the one left at the end to settle up the bill. My boss, at the time said. "Tell me if you come up short". I told him there was nothing he could do because it was genetic.

I'm not "precious" about my height. It isn't like it isn't obvious. Besides, my mum was 4ft 10.

It is a PITA at supermarkets, but there isn't a bed I don't fit in.

          • +2

@try2bhelpful: i love that for you, I love how you don't let your height get to you and don't let others' opinions about your height affect you as it is something that you cant control. having a good mindset about it is very admirable as many other people may feel insecure about but I feel like accepting that your height is uncontrollable and trying to improve every other aspect of your life that you can control is the most important part

            • +1

@danielthai44: Short is an inconvenience, at worst. The secret is go for an outsized personality :)

        • +1

Please don’t downvote him for saying this comment. It isn’t like I don’t realise I’m short. I’m the one who brought it up.

      • +14

This is crazy, that's 5 subways!

      • Lol same. 😆

  • Great post OP.

  • cant resist, got 4. thanks OP.

  • Bought friends

    • +9

Should get your newly purchased buddies an oodie each.

  • i'm in for four, cracker of a first post op

  • +6

I'm divided. I have always maintained these things are stupid. But now they are cheap, get a ton of Ozbargain votes, and they have one with Grogu. I don't think I have a choice.
    Thanks OP. I think.

    • +4

I’ll pm you some crocs deals.

  • Truly epic find wow. Got another 2 oodies. Last time got 2 for $110 or so. Awesome mate cheers.

  • Shipping is probs gonna take a while with the number of orders lol

What a bizarre bunch of word salad.

On the plus side you've filled in quite a few squares on my "rightwing bigot bingo bullsh!t" card.

Do me a favour and throw in "culture warrior" and "cancel culture". I'm close to finishing the card off.

      • -4

Are you a right wing bigot

        • +3

No, but I can recognise it when I see it.

          • -2

@try2bhelpful: Really, someone in your family maybe

            • +2

@KozieSeller: Just keep digging, mate. You were the one with the word salad.

              • -3

@try2bhelpful: Well its not like I’m completely wrong, either statements, whichever you’re ok to consider

                • +4

@KozieSeller: Frankly it looks like you took the rightwing group think words and just threw them down on the table. Sorry, mate, but you are wrong. I, suggest, you get some literature on clear thinking and improve your vocabulary. If you need to resort to these sort of tropes to express yourself you don’t understand the issues and can’t articulate an answer to them.

                  • -2

@try2bhelpful: What am I wrong about though, you brought up the other topics, now you just looking to turn a blind eye and prove ignorance. Also I don’t watch too much america sheep media to know about this wing crap, it seems u are part of the washed media, I gotta a few more word salads to throw if you’re trying to be something on top of this

  • Bought the green Grogu, thanks.

  • Nice, someone has been trying to talk me into buying one and I do like that Baby Yoda one but the regular price is way too high.

Assume I will have it in time for summer.

  • +6

My only quibble is some reports that the new Oodies might not be as good as quality as old ones. I would be interested to see reports from people who've bought them, previously, comparing their old ones to ones they get delivered here.

  • +1

These should be “old” stock so should be ok.

  • People might want to consider thermal long johns, and explorer socks, to go with their Oodie. If nothing else it will complete the “look”.

  • Thanks OP.

bought one for myself and my kid. People buying multiple oodies making me think I should be buying more LOL

  • Bought 4 for my family.
