The previous deal, in which I purchased a laptop has now expired, but this deal is arguably better as it includes the faster CPU/iGPU, stone blue colour unit and a MUCH better cashback.

If your cashback tracks, it's about $1600 for a 2-in-1 convertible machine with the latest Ryzen chipset, the fastest integrated GPU ever made, a long battery life, a 90Hz HDR500 OLED screen, a 3-year onsite warranty with a replacement battery, and $145 of Lenovo dollars to spend on accessories. Let's go!

Previous Deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/711525

If you want to find it from the Lenovo homepage, search for Yoga 7 Gen 7

Review unit (translated from Japanese): https://thehikaku-net.translate.goog/pc/lenovo/22Yoga-770.ht…

Regarding Cashback - Cashrewards is currently showing a MASSIVE 14% back: https://www.cashrewards.com.au/lenovo

The laptop is $1979 with coupon JULOVE22 added automatically. There is now a stackable coupon "SAVE" if your order is over $2,000.

Update 27/722: Lenovo MyRewards is offering $100 instant rewards on purchases. Just sign up with a new email address during checkout.

Step 1: Click $100 Giveaway then Join Now with your email address to get the MyRewards instant $100 promo link: https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/pc/ and confirm your address. Stay logged in.
Step 2: Cashrewards - disable adblocker - Step 3: Build your cart - Step 4: Add the SAVE coupon - Step 5: Checkout

$1779 - Yoga 7 Gen 7 with 6800U / 680M iGPU in Stone Blue including delivery
$24 - Sealed Battery
$143 - Premium 3-year warranty

Sub-total $3132.10
Cart Threshold Savings -$200
Instant Savings -$602.95
eCoupon Savings: -$383.15
Rewards Applied -$102

Total (inc. GST) $1844

Cashrewards = $249.06

Then you get $145 in MyLenovo Rewards dollars, to spend in the future.

I recommend purchasing the onsite 3-year warranty upgrade (2 extra years) for $143. Then also the 3-year sealed battery replacement for $24.

If you want to see the Ryzen 6800U in action gaming with the 680M iGPU, and Nvidia 3080Ti eGPU using USB 4, ETA Prime just posted a video with Lenovo Thinkbook 13s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQVJbaOSEj0

Oh by the way, it said 5 weeks to ship my previous order from 11th of July, but now it's now on it's way from China. So seeming it's a new model, I guess all orders will now be shipped faster.

    • Yup mine just shipped too!

    • Did they update the status before shipping? I ordered 12/7, still says expected shipping of mid August.

Btw I paid $1947 for 6800u, high refresh oled screen + 3yr premium warranty, screen replacement. Shopback 12% cashback (hasnt tracked unfortunately so need to submit ticket). So this is probably a slightly better deal. If this laptop functions similarly to the asus zenbook then its an amazing deal.

  • +2

In the previous deal you could upgrade the CPU from the 6600U to 6800U for ~$180.

    • +2

This deal is better though, didn't see warranty/W11 Pro.

  • +2

My previous order was 6600U/660M iGPU, Stone Blue, 3 Year onsite warranty, new sealed battery for $1,800.71

This one is $1946 for the faster processor/iGPU and higher cashback, so $146 for upgrade, hence a better deal.

Cashrewards says: Cashback is ineligible when using codes not listed on Cashrewards, including codes imported from other sites, or clicks made from 3rd party plugins, newsletters, banners, advertising etc. Cashback is however eligible on codes generated by Lenovo on its website, even though they may not be listed on Cashrewards, provided last click before purchase is from Cashrewards.

So $1946 with 14% cashback is $1674 which is amazing price.

    • +3

I notice this one comes with Windows 11 Pro, whioch is another $100 odd dollars of value thrown in.

    • Its too good to pass up. snapped it

    • Try to return the previous order and buy this?

      • 20% restocking fee. They shipped it 2 days too early! Argh!

    • Did you spend the $180 to upgrade yours to the 6800U?

    • Close to $1500 without extra warranty.

I've never used warranty on any laptop I've ever owned, good peace of mind tho.

    • Saw this last night and I've been in pure emotional turmoil about whether to go for it or not. I'm new to cash rewards, I've made an account with them and can see the JULOVE22 coupon in their list. How does the process even work to get cashback?

      • +1

Make sure ad-block is off. Cashrewards usually tells you that it's been approved after a couple of days and takes about 90 days to withdraw. Add your bank account and withdraw, it's that easy

        • +1

It took a few hours to show up. I did it through the app

        • For me the click-through to Lenovo website was registered on cashrewards, yet the purchase itself is not on my rewards list. Bit annoyed, because my understanding is that it should have shown up in the list by now. I guess I'll have to send a query to their support team.

          • +1

@findingbargains: It can take a couple of days to come through. I'd wait and if you receive nothing by Friday then lodge a ticket.

  • Would be a nice laptop. Above 60hz Oled screen and near Radeon 6500XT performance. Waiting for the ayaneo pro 2 though.

    • Wow is the igpu that powrful?

Also it has an egpu possibility, this is indeed very tempting.

      • +1

Yes can play cyberpunk at 720p low at decent frame rate.

  • +1

Does anyone know how much of the 16GB system RAM is used by the onboard iGPU? (Wish they had a 32GB RAM option)

    • +1

      2GB, it's in the review.

  • How powerful is the onboard GPU? Any comparisons?

I'm looking for a workstation aka study/work but considering if CPU is powerful enough to use for music production.

I wouldn't game, but I only play Warzone and would sell my PS5 potentially.

I gave up that Officeworks deal in December 2022 for $999 which I regret as nothing had come out around that price point.

This is more expensive, but looks above and beyond. However, I do not need touchscreen lol

    • This is one of the most powerful laptop CPUs available - it should be sufficient for music production.

      • Is there anything like this without the touchscreen that would be cheaper or is this just the best price and a bonus touchscreen?

        • At the moment, no. The 6xxxU series is very new - there might be more devices that come along later without the touch screen that might be cheaper, but at the cashback price this is a pretty good deal regardless of the touch screen.

      • Well, theres always the 6000 H series…

        • I'm not up to date with laptops at all 😂

I was hoping to spend 1k, plenty around that but this ticks alot of boxes.

          • @[Deactivated]: Magically doubled your budget ahha. This is a great device of course.

            • @ATangk: Hahaha

The Officeworks deal in December last year was $999, could nearly build a decent desktop gaming setup for $1,500

I'd never spend 2k on a laptop, they devalue and outdated so fast.

But then again phones are over 1k!

    • +2

@adelv - the 680M is the most powerful onboard GPU. You can see here how it destroys the Intel Iris XE

  • +1

haha, was just about to go and post this deal. Just pulled the trigger, with cash rewards using an anz card for 16% cashback :D. Thanks OP!

edit P.S. Its cashback off only on the device, so the extra premium and batt do not qualify. So it was 1779 minus the 14% or 16% if paying with linked ANZ card

  • Cashbacks aren't inclusive of GST, it's 1946x[1-(0.14/1.1)]=$1698, not 1946x0.86=$1674.

    • +2

From previous cashbacks from Lenovo they were inclusive of GST

      • Thanks, I didn't know that.

  • +1

Been eyeing this or the new Asus G14. Should I wait till Q3 to Q4 2022 or pull the trigger now? I'm hoping for laptop prices to drop further.

  • Does anyone know whether this laptop would be capable of 7000MB/s (or close to it) reads with the right SSD? The review linked above shows it only does about 3300 MB/s, which I assume is to do with a slow SSD included in the box. I have a WD Black SN850 capable of 7000 MB/s, so wondering whether to save it for this if I decide to buy it or would it be wasted on this machine.

    • +1

It claims to have a PCIe Gen4 x4 slots so it should be able to. If it has more than one slot, sometimes the second is lower spec.

  • Would love for a deal like this in the Thinkpad X1 series

    • +1

They won't ever have AMD in the X1 Carbons because it's Intel exclusive - Lenovo are releasing something called Thinkpad Z13 which is AMD and that kind of level

      • +1

        Z13 already available

  • thanks, ordered! nearly got a M2 Macbook Air but the bump in specs here - particularly the GPU is too good to pass up. hopefully the slightly extra weight and perceived longevity won't bite me down the track!

  • +1

If you don't care for the 3 year on-site warranty + sealed battery replacement, then add a couple of cheap accessories like mouse, USB-to-Ethernet dongle to tick the cart over $2k.

Then apply the SAVE couple code and you're winning! I got it to $1809 before cashback.

    • Theres a USB C charger for $57 which is probably one of the more useful accessories.

    • Any of the mouse good value?

      Battery replacement sounds good tho?
Is warranty better than a few cables? :/

  • Does this charge via USB-C?

  • Can someone compare this with Yoga Slim 7 Pro X ?

    • is this model just the Yoga Slim 7? there are so many variants online. 7i, 7 Pro X etc

      • Which one you are after ? The one in the deal is Yoga 7 (14", Gen 7) AMD. My uni offered Lenovo Terminology Nomenclature in Uni 😂

Don't look into naming or you will remain confused, just look at the specs in different and decide accordingly.

        • i bought this one. but keen to watch hands-on vids on youtube. but all seem to be either 7i or 7 Pro X

  • I bought the laptop ($1979 with JULOVE22) with a 65W USB C Travel Adaptor ($79 with JULY) to get it over the $2k. Applied SAVE for further $200 off. Joined lenovo rewards when placing the order, and when I checked out it applied a further $100 discount (lenovo rewards points they must have given me as a sign-up bonus and automatically applied to the order?). So total $1758 before cashrewards. Paid with ANZ credit card for 16% back which should bring it to $1477. And earnt $140 in lenovo rewards points towards a future purchase. Will feel pretty good about this if the cashrewards tracks (my first time using it - I disabled all adblockers and followed all instructions on the CW website).

    • Is that $100 bonus points for anyone new? Did you join up first, or as you were checking out?

      Under $1,500 is tempting.

Don't really need a touch screen, I'm always waiting tho.

      • +1

honestly I am not sure. It wasn't advertised when signed up for lenovo rewards, and was just automatically applied by lenovo at checkout. I'm a little concerned now that it might mess up the cashback though, because my credit card says $1758 charged but cashrewards says $1858

        • +2

I received the $100 rewards as well. It was my first order with Lenovo and it came through unprompted at the payment step. Added a $26.73 bag so final cost was $1,705.73 with cashrewards (assuming it doesn't include GST) then $1,490.81 which is an unbeatable price and worthy of being called a true OzBargain.

          • @Jacko1235: Links to what you added to make it over 2k? Total after Bonus and CR is under $1,500 which is pretty awesome.

I just dont know much about the laptop!

65W USB C Travel Adaptor, can you use a separate code for that on same checkout? You said July?

    • Cashrewards is usually pretty good. If they don't provide an email confirmation or it doesn't appear in your rewards on their site then lodge a ticket.

    • +1

Yup. Me too. Just bought this and when signing up at checkout, took another $102 (10200 points for signup and opting in for marketing) off the final price. Hopefully cashback tracks which bring this in for under $1500! And a tax deduction for me as well!!

      • Why a tax deduction?

        • Salary sacrifice through her employer maybe?

        • Because its for work

    • ordered this a few weeks back, no windows 11 pro, no 3 yr warranty and no lenovo rewards for ~$1623. spewing.

      • If it hasn't shipped yet, you can call lenovo and cancel the order without a restocking fee (20%).

        • have you done it before? it says online you cant cancel an order

Can I change or cancel my order after it's been placed?
Orders cannot be cancelled or amended after the Order is placed. Please review your Order carefully. If you need any further assistance, please consult Lenovo Post Sales team on 13 LENOVO / 13 536686 option 3.

          https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/shopping-faqs/#returns

          • @la ciudad respirando: Oh, I see you are right. That's weird because 3 weeks ago, after I placed my order, I saw shopback had 10% cashback and I was pissed I missed out on a bigger cashback so I was chatting to an agent about ordering another one, and they said I could cancel the other one. I didn't save the whole chat, but they did type to me:

Please do not worry our post sales team will further help you with this issue. I request you to contact them on 1300 557 073 Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm Australian EST. You may also send them an email at [email protected].

I would suggest you jump on this deal and order another laptop with the features and specs you want, and sell the first one to a friend or family or work colleague, tell them how good OLED convertibles are….. I'm sure you can find someone to take it off you, even if you have to throw $50 their way.

      • +1

Damn, it always cuts deep when a better bargain arises.

    • What's the ANZ 16% thing?

  • Appears that JULOVE22 does not work anymore. Cannot get the variant listed in the title to be any less than 2106
EDIT: if you filter by the one with the OLED screen, it shows a different model that does not automatically include the upgraded specs.

    • Did you get the JULOVE22 code to work, I can only get 2145 as the lowest price, not including the lenovo MyRewards?

  • -1

The last deal mentioned seems to have been able to get the same spec for $1725? So this deal not quite as good, unless you want the extra warranty etc?

    • +1

Difference is, here you get Windows 11 Pro (+~$100 value) and blue colour (+$30 value). Then add another hundred or so dollars for 3yr battery replacement and 3yr premium on site support, makes this a pretty good deal assuming you value these things. All together, these extras would like cost more with the previous deal.

      • +1

Yeah noted, decided to pull the trigger on this one. $1844 before cashrewards with the extras is pretty solid. Cheers

    • -2

Wasnt the last deal a slower CPU? Faster CPU/iGPU as stated in write up.

  • My question.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/670861

Is this laptop worth $500 more?
Is it easy to upgrade ram to 32gb?

I gave up that laptop, I feel bad but $1000 is a great price point.

I want a powerful CPU, i like this screen is a touch smaller and its much ligher. I do like the idal of the touchscreen, and tablet like use but doubt I will use it. I just dont want to spend $1500, when I can spend $1000.

    Hard choice!

65W USB C Travel Adaptor? Mouse? or better to buy these elsewhere cheaper? Maybe Warranty is best bet.

    last silly Q

first time buyer, says 10% off? does it stack?

  • does this have Thunderbolt 4 support?

  • +5

OK, so I bought another one :) I chatted with my brother and the one that is already coming via DHL, will be his. I will get the faster GPU after all.

As other people mentioned, Lenovo has a "click frenzy" promo at the moment, I received another $102 instant rewards applied to the order when I used a new email address to join Lenovo MyRewards. I was happy with the extra saving, which brought the machine down to $1844. Then I'm taking it overseas to get tourist refund on GST. What a bargain.

Regarding recent comments about the quality of the OLED screen in the Reddit thread. I don't have a problem with flickering because I am always using 70% or 90% brightness. Battery permitting. This new Ryzen Yoga 7 Gen 7 has amazing battery life compared to my other OLED devices so I will always be running it bright.

This is latest generation 2.8k OLED (2880x1800) 10 bit display with 90hz refresh rate and VESA DisplayHDR 500 and 100% DCI-P3 color reproduction.

I have been using OLED 2-in-1 panels for five years now, Samsung Tabpro S and Galaxy book, both 12" AMOLED 2160x1440, and for last six months a Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen 2 @ 2560x1440. These have 60Hz screens only and older OLED tech with no HDR.

After much hunting, I found the model of the panel because the Japanese reviewer didn't have the right info. It's the Samsung SDC415B ATNA40YN04-0.

It's confusing though because the same panel says "non-touch" and is non-touch on some clamshell devices from Acer, Asus as well: ATNA40YK04-0 (SDC4154) - https://www.panelook.com/ATNA40YK04-0_Samsung_14_OLED_overvi…

There is only one decent review of this multi-touch panel, as it's in the Zenbook 14X: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-ZenBook-14X-OLED-Review-G…

As they say in the review "Sensitive people could be affected by this, although we rarely went below 60% in real-time use. For normal office use in daylight, we operated at 70-80%. Users can adjust the dimming level of the screen with the "Flicker-free OLED dimming" option."

"PWM for brightness reduction at 240 Hz (top image, waveform) is available for brightness levels from 0 to 5 (out of 10), above which DC dimming (bottom image, line) is used. This technique is an alternative to PWM, in which pixels are briefly switched off. DC dimming reduces the voltage, which is why the pixel shines less brightly. Below 60% brightness, DC dimming causes a marked deterioration in color representation, which is why the OLED switches to PWM here (240 Hz)."

So long story short, PWM is technically not an issue / not even used at all if you use the machine at level 6 to 10 brightness.

So if Sebastian Jentsch from Notebook Check didn't even mention any screen door effect, subpixel layout or touchscreen issues with this panel in his review, that's good enough for me, rather than some whinging Reddit user.

  • +1

Biggest killer is 16GB only for me :(

My brother's going to Bali in August 23rd, I was going to place the order in his name for a further 10% off as he could claim GST for me! It would be $1,400 with extra warranty.

But pretty annoying you can't upgrade the ram going by the Reddit thread.

Anyone know the ETA? Just says ships in 4 weeks.

    • Spot on. 32GB would just hit the spot.

    • if its anything like previous experience, this would mean that they are bring a boat load of these via ship and it should arrive in 4 weeks for local distribution.

      • Unfortunately my brother leaves for Bali on the 23rd of August, so I doubt I can claim GST.

I don't know what they look at when at the airport? Just invoice or the laptop too? 😂😂😂

        • They will look at both.
If its "too big" for hand luggage, then you will need to get it sighted at the customs office before xrays and checked in luggage. Before you put it through as checked in luggage.

If its small enough for hand luggage then it will be sighted at the TRS counter and refund processed after the xrays.

Also if they suspect you will be bringing it back into Australia (they have done this more and more over the last few years), they will flag your re-entry so you get pulled over by a customs officer to check if you bought it back and if you did, they will reapply GST to it. As you can only bring back <$1000 total back into Australia.

          • @lplau: He's traveling with a few friends, on his return can't he just hand it to his best mate? Does it have to be in box? I assume just the laptop.

Some people say they don't even check the item, normally you just show them the camera or laptop and they're like okay.

  • Keen to snatch this deal but does anyone know if Cashrewards works for Kiwi's and if Lenovo will ship here?

    • So i've figured out both Cashrewards works for NZ'ers (didn't know that before) and Lenovo AU doesn't seem to ship to NZ…FML :)

  • Will the purchase still be eligible for cashrewards when using the MyRewards ?

    • +1

Yes my cashrewards tracked fine. MyRewards is a Lenovo only program, Essentially acts like prepaid money in your account and not a coupon.

      • how long did yours take to track?

        • minutes

          • +1

@zan5hin: Oh you see your cashrewards within minutes? Bought mine last night and it recognises the "click history" and It said activated on the extension when i bought the laptop. But haven't seen a single update or email about it?
