Free Accor Live Limitless Gold Status When Linking Your QFF Account (Silver Status or Above, Points Club Plus, Chairmans Lounge)

2220

A decent alternative to the IHG Rewards offer that's currently on offer, and a much better offer than buying the status for $399

"Qantas Frequent Flyers who hold at least Silver status, Points Club Plus or Chairmans Lounge benefits can upgrade to ALL Gold status when they register by 12 August 2022."

    Shi…is this lifetime?

    • Doubtful. Terms only suggest a “fast track” which in Accor speak is to upgrade for the year and then you’ve got to retain eligibility to keep it.

    • Shi…no

  • +1

If only velocity had something like this

    • +3

Velocity does….if you attain platinum, you get elite diamond status with Hilton for 1 year. You can use that to status match with a bunch of hotels. The only thing is getting to platinum status and retaining elite diamond status with Hilton…

      • 100%. I have managed to maintain both my Hilton Diamond and Hertz Presidents Circle. They have been very handy.

        • +2

FWIW, Accor platinum gives Hertz PC, while Accor Gold gives Hertz 5 star or whatever its called

      • +1

Velocity Gold gives you the next tier down also.
Gold - Equal tier Hilton Honors or IHG Rewards Club. Also Privilege executive with Europcar or Hertz Plus Gold or something like that.

  • +11

Just need someone to find a way to go from classic to silver for free.

    • Amex Platinum Charge - includes an Accor Plus membership automatic silver.

    • +4

I think you have to be Qantas silver or above to get Accor Gold.

      • Oh yes you are correct. I read it as Accor silver getting bumped up to gold.

    • Requirment is Qantas Silver NOT Accor Silver.

  • The 399 Accor Plus annual fee gives you one night stay.
I think this offer is probably just for a year and not lifetime as you need to renew it annually.
I'm already a Silver, and registered to this. We will see if I will get GOLD status in a few days. Thanks.

Here are the different levels in case you are interested to know:

    • +5

The 399 Accor Plus annual fee gives you one night stay.

I started thinking something else lol

    • +5

The Accor Plus from Jakarta us way better for the same price and you get two free nights instead of one.

      • If anyone is interested please let know know.

        • Do you still get the 50% of meals for 2 people?

        • What is the process to get from Indonesia?

      • How much do you pay for that ? I renew for $200 thru Fiji for the 1nt

        • I recently paid $400 for Indonesia.

          • @76F: Normal price is around that, but wait for promo. I let mine expired then signed again in April for ~300

            • @hanofee: That's a good idea – I'll do that next year as I didn't know they had promos. Just got sent a promo for 2 nights for $325 AUD, valid for 3 days.

  • I keep getting an error when I try to link/log in to ALL….

    • I can't get it to work :(

    • You need to unlink your QFF and relink.

      • No, login to your accor account click your profile and then click become a Member to all. Its stupid because you think the first login is the All login but its not

  • Couldnt get the eligibility ;p

  • +1

Gold Accor status doesn’t convey much IMO. The benefits really only start at platinum. And if you’re staying at Accor that much you really need Accor Plus too.

    • Don't you get a free night and 50% off food?

      • +3

Accor Plus will get you a "free night" and discounted dining for your $399 p.a. membership.

You don't get these benefits with Accor gold. Gold is mere welcome gift and late checkout/early checkin subject to availability. Platinum gets you club access without having to pay for the upgraded stay.

I've been platinum/gold in Accor for quite some time now - gold is practically nothing worthwhile. Platinum's club access really starts to make it worthwhile.

        • Interestingly, I am Diamond while I have colleagues who are Gold.

When we both check in at the same hotel, they often have the same upgrades as me if there is no Exec lounge

        • Ah. I confused the two. Thanks for clarifying

  • +1

Not sure why but I joined lol

    • +1

      sem sem

  • Thanks OP, appreciate you posting this

  • +2

Thanks. Free Gold is much better than the initial promo:-

Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold members (and above) and Points Club Plus members will automatically reach ALL Silver status after the first stay (⁷).
Points Club members will reach ALL Silver status after two stays of two nights (⁸).

Gold benefits include one complimentary welcome drink per stay, early check-in OR late check-out, guaranteed room availability 3 days before arrival, welcome amenity (not all properties), and upgrade to the next room category subject to availability (not all properties).

Receive an upgrade to the next room category, if available at time of check-in. Excludes villas, one-of-a-kind suites, speciality suites and presidential suites. If unavailable, the hotel will seek to allocate you an enhanced room in your current room category i.e. a higher floor, more desirable view, corner room or better amenities.

    • This is actually similar benefit to AccorPlus. I have one, but only on silver in the accor tier itself as I don't stay often. Occasionally got upgrade to a better room when it's not that full

What happens if your Accor is already linked to QFF?

    • Was wondering the same…

      • -1

Same boat. Got an error that's already linked. So, I unlinked, then redo it a few minutes later. It said successfully linked but no gold

        • How did you unlink?

          • +2

@kuwahshi: in the AccorPlus website, I just click the notification that I linked, and it has a button to unlink

        • Did unlink and relink too, hopefully status will change to gold.

        • +2

To be eligible for this offer, members must also ensure they’ve linked their Qantas Frequent Flyer account with a new or existing ALL - Accor Live Limitless account by 11.59pm (AEST) 12 August 2022 and remain linked at the time this offer is fulfilled by Qantas and Accor. Gold status will be reflected within the member’s ALL - Accor Live Limitless account within four weeks of the offer end date.

          • @kaykay4: has anyone seen the upgrade yet or do we have to wait until four weeks has passed

            • @dogzilla: Its been 4 weeks and i am still sitting at silver.

              • @kaykay4: Status should be reflected within 4 weeks of the end of the offer period (i.e. August 12th)

    • +3

Contrary to above posters, mine was already linked and I had no issue registering? Got an email saying I have enrolled for the promotion.

    • No soup for you!

      <jokes, no idea…im the same>

    • +1

If you’re already linked, you are still eligible, you just don’t need to link the accounts

  • +1

    Hi All,

    Interesting.
Wonder if this will extend the membership of those who are already Accor ALL Gold??

I'm currently Accor ALL Gold, until 30 April 2023. (ALL Silver via Accor Plus, via Amex Plat and then 'earned' ALL Gold by using an Accor Fast Track offer earlier this year)

I will register this Qantas offer, and see if my Accor status extends beyond April.
But, I will wait until 1st August to register… in the hope that if there is an extension this would continue for an extra month.

I'll report back in the next few days.

    Cheers

    • Update…
waited until the new month, clicked to register for the upgrade offer. (had previously link the two accounts back in Feb)
Got the confirmation message telling me I'm registered for the offer.
Now, like everyone else, I wait a few weeks to see what happens.
Hoping the date on my ALL Gold status changes from April to August.

  • -4

Is it instant? I did this (have to unlinked first though, as I was already linked), got the email, but my status still silver :(

    • +1

"Gold status will be reflected within the member’s ALL - Accor Live Limitless account within four weeks of the offer end date."

  • My account is already linked before, with QFF silver. We’ll see if my Accor status gets upgraded.

  • Unlinked (https://all.accor.com/account/index.en.shtml#/partner/qantas) and it said it had done it successfully, but went back and noticed the site still thinks it's linked. It might take a while for the change to filter through so have set a reminder to check again in a few days before trying to link again.

    • +1

I did that, u can re-link within like 5 minutes or so

      • Interesting. I did get a confirmation email saying it was now unlinked, and I also noticed in the fine print "Once you link your ALL account to an airline frequent flyer program, you need to wait 12 months to be able to link it with a new program." so I guess I'll see!

  • -1

Im on Qantas silver and created All Accor account and linked QFF, but its saying im on Classic status? How to upgrade to Gold? Cheers

    • +1

Look at webpage where you just registered:

You'll receive your status upgrade within a few weeks

      • +1

A few weeks after the end date, to be exact.

I would think this is a once off offer - if it was perpetual, there wouldn’t be a registration end date.

Gold isn’t worth very much in the Accor world, although around south east Asia, they used to treat top tier holders like god. There was once when the hotel ran out of premier rooms so they put me into the presidential suite instead.

      • Oops missed that! =) Thanks!

    • It takes 24 to 48 hours.

  • I just linked my accounts and realized classic grade..

  • Thanks OP

How to get to Silver from bronze in Ozbargain way?

    • Fly business class return to Wellington

    • Same question 😊

    • +3

just apply for a bunch of credit cards for sign-on bonus in QFF points and reach Points Club Plus instead

  • -3

I'm still confused by IHG, I used to work at hotels, and the program doesn't really make sense to me… i have the plat upgrade with ihg Bonvoy for example, but if I go to bonvoy website I'm just a regular member? how do the benefits work then?

    • +3

There's no such thing as IHG Bonvoy for starter. That's Marriott

      • yea but a couple months ago you could upgrade to plat using a membership through IHG like accor or bonvoy i thought? or is completely separate as it's own membership?

        • -1

          Still can till 31 July

        • +1

IHG is Intercontinental hotel group, voco etc
          Hilton is Hilton
Marriot Bonvoy is Marriot, Sheraton etc
          Accor is basically everything else…

They are matching status but are completely separate programs. In the IHG promotion, they are upgrading you to Platinum elite if you have a membership (any status) with any other group.

I have found Accor Platinum and Hilton Gold the best personally.

          • @hypie: I see, thanks for this very good explanation! This makes a lot more sense!

  • 9500 points shy off points club plus :(

    • How did you earn the other 340500 points? I've always thought it impossible unless you had business expenses.

      • +3

Churning credit cards. I get a new one every 12 months or so and bank the 100K points each time. Over the last 5 years, have gotten around 1 million QFF Points this way

      • +3

you need 3-4 high bonus Qantas point credit card deal inside one year, not that hard to do if you have the income to get those high bonus cards

      • As mentioned by others, churning credit cards. I changed reward programs and earning velocity now otherwise I would have earnt a lot more.

      • I earned 400k this year - main one like others said is churning credit cards. Qantas Wellbeing app gave me decent amount of points and you get 10x multiplier if you have one of their insurance policies. And bits and pieces like converting Everyday Reward points into QFF points.

Having said that, I am not sure if it's worth the effort and money to retain this tier moving forward. The only benefit that stands out is free Qantas Club membership giving you lounge access. Last year, the very first year, it was all good but this year they stuffed up and I never received my $50 and $100 Qantas Hotel vouchers. And it's one of those programs that started really good and not so much after, they have definitely reduced on special deals / discounts for us this year compared to last year.

        • I received the $50 and $100 voucher. It should be front and centre when you click into the Points Club Plus range. Bad thing is these 2 vouchers don't stack and Qantas hotels are more expensive than booking direct. On the plus side you can earn a fair amount of points if there are hotel booking promotions.

          • @spiff: Is this your first year or subsequent year? No issue last year but when never received anything this new membership year

            • @firestint: First year with Points Club Plus, but I've met the Points Club criteria for a few years in a row now and have always gotten the $50 code

              • @spiff: So you got both $50 and $100 vouchers this year? And did you get them like within 21 days of achieving the tiers?

I think it’s just bad luck on my side then probably :(

    • +2

Easy/quick way to earn 9.5K QFF is to buy $900 in IKEA Gift Cards at Woolworths this week and scan your rewards card, opt to QFF Transfer, sell them on classifieds for 10-15% off.

      • +1

I am not sure if the benefits are worth it to be honest, given that the hotel prices are expensive to begin with and plus you don't get many options if you travel in certain countries. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Thanks, got it with PC+.

  • I am currently still in Point club + till Dec 2022 and have ALL platinum till Nov 2022
Will be interesting to know what will happen if I apply this

    • You'll get downgraded. Don't do it!

  • Losing my silver status at the end of this month

Wonder if it goes by todays status if I apply now

    • There is a new Qantas Status Support offer for those with status lapsing between July-December 2022…

Members with a status end date between July - December 2022 NEW
What new status support is Qantas providing?
Eligible members with a status end date between 31 July and 31 December 2022 who reside in Australia or New Zealand and are unable to earn the Status Credits needed to retain their status will receive a 12-month status extension provided that before the end of their current Membership Year, they simply make at least one new eligible booking for travel before 31 December 2022.

      • Yeah this saved me this year. Phew.

  • for those in the know do you only receive those benefits if booking directly with the hotel or do you receive them if booking through other websites eg booking.com. luxury escapes etc?
for context, i'm staying and an Mgallery in Thailand in January booked through Luxury escapes. Can i still get a room upgrade for example?

    • +1

Only if you book direct or through some registered travel agents like Flight Centre

Don't expect anything through Luxury Escapes
