    • You can get a better deal from the Classifieds. I think the going rate is 6% off, the last time I purchased back in June.

      • +30

with the risks involve probably not

        • +1

I can't deny there will always be a risk, I guess depends on an individual's risk tolerance and management.

Personally I've had a good run. When I buy gift cards from Classifieds, I do check if they have a good reputation, recent/overall activity, account age etc.

          • @ronnknee: I guess you are lucky then but most people won't risk an extra 1% discount on the classifieds

          • @ronnknee: I thought it was 7% since the last major reduction in Amex bonus points or multiplier for supermarket gift card spend.

Are there any recommended sellers? Feel free to PM me.

Offer runs from 09:00 AEST 08/08/22 to 17:00 AEST 12/08/22 or while stocks last

    • What are the chances of them running out of stock ?

      • +10

Woolworths Group has a market cap of $32.58 Billion. I think If you purchase $32.58 billion eGift card, they would be out of stock.

  • +4

The 5% extra value will be added to your Supermarket Promotional eGift Card purchase amount after checkout.

On the Cart page the Supermarket Promotional eGift Card(s) will appear for the base purchase amount you selected - don’t worry, the 5% extra value will be added at a later stage

  • +3

This is sneaky “Woolworths Everyday Rewards offers or fuel offers not available on activation of this Store eGift Card.”

    • +40

That just mean you won't get a fuel docket or points when you purchase the giftcard. You will however get them when spending the card.

    • they never have with purchase of gift cards

      • Only instore do you get points

        • only when they have a promo but if you were just to buy regular gift cards you don't get points

      • +1

you're ruining the dream of paying $500 to get a $525 dollar gift card and then using $500 of that to get another $525 gift card etc.

        • buying gift card with a gift card that's blasphemy!

  • +2

Does anyone know if this works with Hiver? I read somewhere Hiver cashback only works for physical transactions (paywave, EFTPOS), is that true?

Is there also a $500 limit on Hiver? So can I only buy $500 of these per day?

    • +10

Considering the Woolworths Group gift card portal has an MCC of 5411 (Grocery Stores, Supermarket), it means you should be eligible for 5% cashback through Hiver.

      • Thanks Wookie, so you can purchase things online using your Hiver Card then?

        What about the $500 limit?

        • If the online merchant has an eligible MCC, it will still be eligible, because that's what the terms of the offer state on Hiver's website

No idea about the $500 limit.

    • +13

Hiver definitely provides cashback on purchases made at https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au/

I made purchase from the portal on 16 July and was granted the cash back at the start of August as expected. Store is listed as Wish Gift Card 6673 Bella Vista and the Merchant is listed as Grocery Stores, Supermarkets.

The only Hiver limit I'm aware of is the $250 cash back per year calendar year, which at 5% equates to $5k spend per year.

Also Hiver - Where Can You Get Cashback? forum topic is a handy reference.

      • I can confirm that cashback at Woolworths Giftcard online works. I've bought significant amount of eBay Gift Cards.

Also see Hiver - Where Can You Get Cashback? as mentioned above where there is more proof of cashback reports.

      • +1

What is the cash back rate for Hiver? I couldn't see anything on their website. I'm thinking about joining them.

Edit: found it, it's 5% cashback.

      wanna confirm this too.

This is the one that doesn't work with reward card app is it?

    • +7

The iOS version of the Everyday Rewards app was patched a few days ago to accept Woolworths Supermarket Promotional gift cards.

I'm not sure whether it works on the Android version of the Everyday Rewards app, as that is one version behind of the iOS app.

      • +6

Just bought some and can confirm it added to IOS rewards app without issues and also added to android app without issues.

        • +1

just received 4 X $525, all added to Money apps in iOS. Thanks

      • Just adding to my comment below. I have a “simply groceries gift card digital” and that still doesn’t allow it to be added to the IOS rewards app, so had to stay in the money app instead.

        • +3

Not surprised, because the patch notes only listed the following gift cards:

          • Supermarket Promotional

          • Returns

          • Everyday Money Shopping

          • Kindness

          • WISH Bonus Store (3 Month expiry version)

My guess is that Simply Groceries and Essentials gift cards are still missing, due to those gift cards having additional excluded items (e.g. home brew kits, motor oil) that are not excluded from WISH gift cards, Woolworths Supermarkets gift cards, etc. It seems like Everyday Rewards still has not come up with a way to stop a purchase if you're attempting to purchase an ineligible item through Everyday Pay. I mean, in the early trial phase for Everyday Pay, you could purchase gift cards using WISH gift cards loaded onto Everyday Pay…

          • @WookieMonster: Do you think this stack with Suncorp spend $250 to get $25 back and stack with unionshopper? Thank you so much.

            • +3

              @jwl81124:

Do you think this stack with Suncorp spend $250 to get $25 back

Yes, because Woolworths uses an MCC of 5411 for any gift cards sold through their gift card portal. If you spend $250 on Woolworths Supermarket Promotional eGift Cards during this deal, Suncorp will see that you spent $250 at a supermarket (based of the MCC) and it will help you earn the $25 cashback.

              stack with unionshopper

What offer are you referring to there?

              • @WookieMonster: https://www.unionshopper.com.au/
4% of Woolworths supermarket e-gift card, thanks for your reply

                • +3

@jwl81124: I’m assuming Union Shopper sends you to a Woolworths Group gift card portal to purchase Woolworths, WISH, BIG W (etc) gift cards? If so, you cannot stack that offer with the offer in this deal, as they are two distinct gift cards and there is no way you can get the two offers to stack.

                  • The Woolworths Supermarkets Promotional eGift Card uses a different gift card prefix (628000 902) to a regular Woolworths Supermarkets eGift Card (628000 711, 628000 721), so Woolworths can easily tell what kind of eGift Card you’ve purchased.

                  • You can also only access the Woolworths Supermarkets Promotional eGift Card through their publicly-accessible gift card portal. If you go to a gift card portal via a partner (e.g. Student Edge, automotive club, Entertainment Book) and try to access the Woolworths Supermarkets Promotional eGift Card, you will be told to log out of your partner account and go back to the publicly-accessible gift card portal.

      • I think Latte Lovers can only be used in cafes? How can this be used to purchase the gift cards?

        • +8

Someone tested it yesterday and it worked.

It is not overly surprisingly to me, because most Woolworths Metro locations across Australia have a dedicated barista who makes coffees on order for customers. It would be a bit strange to have a Latte Lover gift card, but not be able to use it to purchase barista-made coffee just because the barista was within a Woolworths Metro.

If you were wondering, Woolworths Metro stores use a MCC of 5411, because they are generally a supermarket, and the MCC should describe the type of merchant they generally are. Woolworths Group’s gift card portal uses the same MCC for when you purchase gift cards from them.

What you need to keep in mind with Special gift cards is that Special have not published a list of permitted MCCs for each of their gift cards, which leaves us to test where it does and does not work. This is unlike most other category-restricted gift cards (e.g. category-restricted OnlyONE Visa gift cards, category-restricted TCN gift cards), where they are quite clear as to which MCCs are permitted. Heck, Special’s terms and conditions do not even mention the use of MCCs to restrict the usage of their gift cards!

@tharlow I made sure to use the correct spelling for once!

        • +4

And two more (including myself) below the comment @WookieMonster linked confirmed Latte Lovers works at the Woolies GC portal.

              • @salami: Didn't work for.me. bought latte gift card, went to redeem on WW portal and would be in progress then cancel. Tried twice.

                • @txb: Figured it out. Strangely I couldnt replicate what sween, oz, salami did (Latte gc -> 5% Extra Value WW portal) Instead, I went to a 4% WW portal and it was happy. My ocd is ticking at the loss of 1% lol!

Update just got the $105 card 4 mins after purchasing using a $100 coles master card gift card. Successfully added the gift card to my Andriod Woolworths Money app too. hope this answers some of the questions above

    • +3

WW Money app is different to the Rewards app. The Money app lets us track the balance and scan barcodes instead of manually entering the numbers but the Rewards app allowed you to combine your Rewards barcode and payment info into one barcode for scanning at checkout. You've been able to track these in the Money app for ages but apparently the Rewards app didn't like you loading these into it as a payment method. I don't know the ins and outs of the issue for sure as I don't use the payment features in the Rewards app,

    • +5

Add it to your "rewards app wallet", and scan qr code at checkout to pay. No codes or scanning barcodes. Easy

      • Rewards app is a good improvement over the Money app in terms of functionality (especially supermarket shopping) but feels slow/clunky.

Also its too many taps to reach the gift card details when you need to type it out manually (e.g. paying for fuel).

        • +1

The Rewards App is linked to your Woolies Rewards card.
If one wanted to check out using a different rewards card but still pay with Gift Card, then this is where the WW Money App comes in handy. Downside, one needs to add the Giftcard to both.

          • @Borg: You can also link your rewards card to the WW Money app. Shows you your points balance, available credit, fuel vouchers and can bring up the barcode to scan it too.

            • @Cousin IT: Yeap but don't want it linked as have several cards and depending which is offering the best deal use it rather than having a single card linked. I just use it to store Giftcards. I have the Rewards account linked to primary.
Now if only the "Scan & Go" in the Wollies app acepted giftcards then would make life a whole lot easier!

    • Seems no double dip with NRMA member 4% off

    • No, if you log in to your mobile account via mobile.woolworths.com.au the link to this deal changes to "Currently there are no promotions or offers available."

  • +6

Coles please integrate gift cards in your app.

I spent a good three mins trying to scan.

    • +3

Coles scanners are renowned to be crap…ask the staff, there are usually a few in each store that are more reliable for scanning pdf from phone…make sure you are on max brightness and in a 'light' setting (not dark theme) to improve odds.

      • +1

I used to struggle too but stocard has been a lifesaver for me.

        • +3

you need to download UNOFFL Coles Gift Card Balance app by Android Chau

      • +6

Use the flybuys barcode scanner that's above the EFTPOS terminal. It's way better at scanning Coles GC barcodes.

    • +6

All Coles checkouts (manned or self-checkouts) have a separate barcode scanner labelled 'Scan Flybuys here'. This should work better on phones. Some self-checkouts have upgraded product scanners to work on phones. Remember to use max brightness. I use Stocard to store Coles e-giftcards but I agree, Coles should upgrade their apps.

  • Anyone know if buying these gift cards will fall under the Amex platinum edge triple points due to it being woolworths?

    • It should. Unless things have changed in the last few years.

I bought $200 via RAC WA member benefit 4% off. It does not stack. I only receive $200.

  • Thank you.
    Bought $300, received $315
