270

This is much of a better deal than this recent JB deal posted today

The Telstra 24 months contract will be ~$877 if you consider both Samsung phones at RRP (Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 256Gb at $1499 or the Z Fold4 512GB at $2499)

Remember to ask for a port in credit on the Telstra live chat

  • Well, would i be able to add the free care+?

  • -5

    God. I pay $10 a month

So you get the $800 egift card as well. If so I guess you could buy another phone (or whatever) and sell it to offset the cost.

    • +1

You don’t unfortunately. It’s either this deal or the other the deal

  • +2

Nah, I need at least 1TB per month to browse web on my phone

  • How to get port in credit?

    • You message the online chat. Supposedly very hard to get these days or they give you only a one off $10 credit

    • You have to mention it when you sign up. Don't wait to Live chat.

Last time I sign up at jb, I didn't ask them. When I live chat, they refer me back to jbhifi, then jbhifi refer it back.
      End up with no credit

      • Thanks guys. Can't hassle that much. Even these folds aren't even worth the upgrade than predecessors.

  • So I guess this is good for those willing to cancel home internet and solely use 5G…?

    • I wouldn't want to be hotspotting off my mobile all the time, It would be great if they did an unlimited plan with a secondary sim to put into a 5g/4g modem for home use.

      • Yeah, not sure how things work with Telstra, but with my current plan, I can have a secondary sim to use my data on a tablet/modem. I can only imagine how hot the phone would get after hotspotting 24/7.

        • I do this with a spare phone, usb tethered to a wireless router. Phone stays mildly warm at most

Thanks to Associated user Farque for pointing out a great deal if you wanted to sign up to $69 Optus Plan and Harvey Norman

    Flip $399 upfront + $300 HN Gift Card + Optus $69 plan for 24 months https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/253051/97562/capture.p…
    Fold $1399 upfront + $400 HN Gift card + Optus $69 plan for 24 months https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/253051/97563/capture2.…

part of a deal i posted earlier https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718073

    • This looks good, but from what I know of optus's coverage on my work mobile, it's pretty average, quality too. Tempting deal though. Could the gift card be used towards the device?

      • Yeah I'd like to know that too. If paying $99 upfront for the Flip4 that would sweeten the deal.

EDIT: I think they are two seperate deals. Either you buy the handset outright for $1499 or $1649 and get a $300 gift card, or you take up this 24 month deal with Optus at Harvey Norman. You dont get both, which is expected with HN, old Gerry wont dare to make such great deals where he's losing money.

  • Wouldn't JB be able to match this? After all JB owns TGG don't they?

    • +1

Yeh but I suspect this promo was set up exclusively for TGG from Telstra since they’re mostly bearing the cost of the device and wants you to sign up to Telstra plans via TGG

    • +1

JB have matched it for the Flip4
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718440

      • Ah nice. It's likely they will match the fold 4 deal too.

  • This is better than JBHIFI 1000 gift card 24 months plan.

  • I want to outright buy the fold 4 but it's so hard to know which one of these deals will net me the most savings?

    • JB Hi Fi deal has gone up to 1200 now and you can combine it with the trade in deal of $600 minimum trade in value. JB will be the cheaper option assuming that you trade something in, otherwise GoodGuys is cheaper.

      • That's only if you sign up to their plan. If you want to buy the phone outright (for use on another plan of your choice), the only real deal I can find is through one of the Samsung stores where you can get 20% off, or through someone like JB with a trade-in and trade-in bonus.
