If I was a betting person, I would bet that staff at the store forgot to take down the advertising material for the previous gift card deal at Coles.

That’s what I thought too when I saw it at my local WA store. I forgot to check the date and say something as I was in a rush. Maybe they extended it?

I doubt that last week’s Apple gift card deal was extended unless it was specifically advertised somewhere (e.g. the Coles catalogue) that the deal was extended. I don’t remember Coles extending a gift card deal in the last few years. Coles has definitely run two separate gift card deals at the same time (e.g. bonus points on Officeworks gift cards and Apple gift cards in the first week of June), but those deals didn’t run beyond the original start and end dates.

To be fair, it’s not unusual for Coles stores to sometimes leave old gift card posters up. I spotted an identical Apple gift card deal poster at one Coles store yesterday. The end date on that poster was 09 Aug and there was no indication of the deal being extended.

Honestly, if your local store had the posters up for the Apple gift cards, you purchased Apple gift cards based off that poster and you never get the bonus points, you could argue with the Flybuys team that the advertising was misleading and you ought to be manually credited the points. Personally, with how frequent Apple gift card deals are, I would question whether the potential headache would be worth it…

Agreed. But if OP doesn’t get points then I’d dispute it. I personally wait for the Him card wit JB at 10% off and then transfer to Apple cards.

I checked the date for my local Coles (WA) and can confirm it was forgotten by staff.

I saw this banner on the Wednesday or Thursday at the St Clair store in SA, when I discovered they had Philadelphia cheese board in a sufficient quantity

  • Did the points appear in your account?

    • not yet…the transaction hasn't shown up on my flybuys app or online account yet

  • Chances are points won't appear because promo has ended.

    Der: you did :)

Fortunately the small print is obscured/too small to read

I can make the text out in the photo no problem, it’s just that the angle they’ve taken it from is cutting some off including possibly a validity period.

Also if they didn’t take that too banner down chances are they’ve left the smaller banners that usually run vertically down the display and allow a much closer look.

        • You can? Wow… even when zoomed in I can’t read a thing… way too pixelated.

I think I need the CIA image enhancement/fabrication tool

@tharlow: New iphone needed maybe? I can see the 20x points perfectly :)

@Coops1: You’re right… I will upgrade to the iPhone 14 Pro Max as soon as possible. Or the iPhone 14 mini, if they make one, and if it has the necessary CIA superpowers baked into the chip

  • You bought $500 worth of gift cards?

    … SIR DO NOT REDEEM!!!

    • Already done…
The credit has been applied to my account. The sign is still up today. And the expiry is date is not visible from ground height. They don't have any signs at ground level only the signs at the top

turns out the deal had expired when I posted it…the store forgot to take the signs down. I managed to get a Coles gift card worth an equivalent amount of flybuys credit though so no major complaints from me
