The 3070 ti surely isn't worth $200 more than the 3070? And for that matter the 3080 isn't worth $400 more than the 3070? I feel like this should be $1399.

    • +4

And I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight.

You just reminded me it's cheap Tuesday at KFC!

If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.

If horse turds were biscuits, they'd eat 'til they died.

      • +1

My grandma used to say that…..at least the first bit.

        • Yeah I'm just stirring. And loved a chance to use the saying. :)

    • let TF make some money.

      • Yeah still a better deal than most, but I'm OzB4life.

  • +1

Deal should be 1299 if you want to push the large abundance of left over 3070 TI's out the door.

    • +3

      It's Techfast, not Nvidea

  • +4

    we're sh1tting on 3070 Ti's now? - Sh1t I wish I had a 3070 Ti lol

    • +6

It deserves it, gets smoked by the cheaper RX 6800.

      • -1

But no RT or DLSS on the AMD card, so doesn't that even things out?

        • +4

The 6800 has ray tracing capabilities and a DLSS 2.0 alternative (FSR 2.0) which is open source (the free sync to Nvidias gsync as I understand it).

The RT ability is weaker, I think right now AMD runs a tier or two below the Nvidia counterparts when RT is enabled. But even now there's not that many games where you'll be using RT so I'd definitely go for the regular performance over that.

  • +1

Looking through it and mostly doing a side by side against the other deal:
    Ryzen 5 5600 RTX 3070 Gaming PC: $1298

100W higher PSU and Bronze to Gold
Case is different (hard to know if better)
3070 to 3070Ti (reading around it doesn't seem a huge difference in performance between the two)

At 1399 it would be a good deal. At higher than that I'd be on the fence still (or HODL)

    • Agreed. It's like 7-8fps difference.

    • honestly i'm HODLer for 40xx series but would like to buy right away if 5600x and 3070Ti PC is the same price for next few months. But maybe not for next week cuz shorter time remaining for next gen intel 13th gen and nvidia 4090

  • Could you do these in a basic black case, without lights? I have zero interest in those.

    Any options to add ram?

    • +1

I have one of these cases. You are able to completely turn off the lights

      • Nice

      • +2

        Turn down for what?!

  • between $1200-$1300 and I would bite.

I have to say.. I've bought from techfast a few times and not only are they actually very slow. They have terrible customer service and quality control.

First I purchased a PC and they sent the entire thing in parts when it was meant to be a prebuild. So I had to take the whole package back to the post office to send it back to them and wait all again for them to actually build the PC and send it.

Secondly I specifically asked for them not to send one particular brand of GPU, they advertised they had a few different brands being sent out. They sent the only one I didn't want.

Thirdly I requested that I receive the GPU box, they did not send it.

Fourth, when the PC arrived it had been built so poorly that fan cables were in the way of the fans and made a terrifying sound as soon as I switched on the PC. Is it that hard to pull the cable taut and cable tie it to a fixing point in the back of the case?

Fifth, one of the RAM modules was not fixed in place upon arrival, they have a locking mechanism so it obviously wasn't ever actually connected properly.

Sixth, the PC would not boot to Windows after resolving the RAM issue. Had to spend an hour troubleshooting and playing in the BIOS as they hadn't set the PC up properly. They hadn't set boot priority and I had to disable 'LAN PXE Boot Option ROM' and 'Network Stack'.

Seventh, the system did not have any network drivers installed. I was instructed to use a second PC to download them and then manually install them myself.

After all this the PC seemed to be okay for a while. After a couple of months the PC would just auto shut itself down. I have had a lot going on in life and I own another system so I put it in the too hard basket for a while.

Then 2 months ago I finally contacted them to advise what was going on with the shut-down issue.
It turns out the poor quality AIO that they supplied is faulty. They say that the system is no longer under warranty but the AIO is, and if I want it to be replaced I have to pay for shipping both ways and wait for it to be assessed.

This would cost me roughly $34 in shipping (not including shipping insurance) and waste even more of my time. I don't trust the competence of the staff there for obvious reasons so I decided to replace the cooler myself. Low and behold the system hasn't crashed once since.

Now TechFast won't budge on replacing the AIO unless I agree to pay shipping both ways.

All in all, a freaking nightmare to deal with. ACCC states that buyers are entitled to recover reasonable postage costs if items are found to be faulty.

    TechFast doesn't care.

Terrible company with terrible customer service and quality assurance.

Never again will I deal with them and I will be spreading that message far and wide.

    • +5

Without knowing both sides of the story, it sounds like an awful experience.

      • +3

Happy to provide the entire email chain to anybody that is interested. Awful is an understatement.

        • Oh I don't doubt your statement, and thanks for sharing. Guess something to consider when it comes down to purchase, maybe BPC Tech even tho pricier (often better parts) is a smarter option.

          • +6

@Steakz: BPC have good customer service and much better build quality.

I have spent over 10k with them and have been mostly very happy.

            • +1

@Mattblack: Reasonable prices to. I was just checking their 6800xt/5600 build and that appeared to come in under the general market price for an equivalent build (not counting any value being pre built adds).

Upgrades seem to be very reasonably priced as well.

        • +1

It seems legit, you would expect galvanic corrosion issues to arise in an AIO after a few months of usage, at which point there is very little to no coolant flow and thermal throttling or shutdowns become a major problem.
What's more concerning is that if galvanic corrosion is happening with one Techfast/Allied AIO, all of them will be affected. I'd recommend anyone with such a system to download Prime95 and do a CPU stress test to check temps. Quite often a defective CPU cooler can go unnoticed if the system is only being used for GPU-bound gaming.
You also should report them to the ACCC regarding not paying for return postage. If enough people report them eventually the ACCC will slap them with a big fine.

          • +1

            @iseeyou1312: Thank you.

That's a good point. I will be reporting it to the ACCC.

      • +4

Its making me look away from TechFast for sure. Thanks for your feedback, it actually helped me.

        • +3

          Happy to help.
BPC are much better and have good customer service

          • +2

@Mattblack: I was extremely happy with BPC. (Well priced, quick build time, prompt email replies.)

        • +3

I've had quite the contrary experiences.

Have purchased 2 PC's from TF now; one being a little over 2 years ago. No issues whatsoever; and as the build was a little delayed I got a free GPU upgrade and Windows activation. The PSU blew recently(cheap Chinese one); which I mentioned in one of their deal posts, Luke saw the comment and arranged a new PSU to be shipped out to me free of charge.

Recently bought a new PC and got the GPU shipped separately, which it was; no issues so far with that setup.

          • -5

@Danstar: The fact that they've logged on and seen what I've written yet haven't bothered to rebut or reply should tell you all you need to know about TF customer service.

            You sound like a shill.

            • +2

@Mattblack: Well I didn't create my account to jump onto every TF post and complain about them…

TBH; I don't doubt your claims, but at the same time, who's the dill to continue to give them business even after the first bad experience ? Also, not sure if by design, you make out like your issues you've had with the PC's happened relatively early post purchase. But it's more than a year from what I've read in some of your comments. (Which if is still under warranty, you should be eligible for repair or replacement at not charge)

              • @Danstar: Oh I'm definitely the dill.

I should have learnt from other accounts and used my brain instead of only taking financials into account.

I had issues from the beginning with this purchase. Purchased in April '21. They were frustrating and maddening but time heals wounds and they did actually provide a basic level of assistance to make up for the complete lack of quality assurance.

I then purchased a couple of systems in October and the experience was mostly fine.

The shut-down issues were occurring from about the 8 month mark and I put it in the too hard basket and figured I'd follow it up later. I contacted them early June '22 to advise of the issues, and would have been able to prove that the crashes had been occurring since much earlier had I not done a complete Windows reinstall to rule out any driver issues.

The PC had 12 months warranty. The AIO has 3 years warranty.

I won't be the dill again, I can assure you.

                • +1

@Mattblack: Fair enough. I hope it all works out for you.

                • +1

@Mattblack: Just curious but why have you bought so many systems? So you bought one in April 21, then another 2 in October 21? So 3 computers in the span of 5 months. You also mention purchasing off BPC (though you didn't say what, but obviously have had a number of interactions to gauge their customer service). Are these for a business or personal use?

Sorry, little off topic but I have seen a few comments like "I have bought a few computers from X" and I would expect that to be over a number of years, not 5 months.

                  • +1

@Nebargains: I am more technically apt than most of my friends and all of my family so I'm the defacto PC guy and they make great gifts.

      • +1

Without knowing both sides of the story

This. Given the multiple posts about this both on this and other sites like productreview, its obvious this is someone with an axe to grind. Better to look at other peoples positive/negative experiences instead.

    • +2

Me and a couple other mates have bought prebuilts from TF without much issue, so that makes me question whether your experience was just a string of misfortune or some weird inconsistent quality control within the company.

I bought during the easter sales and received the PC within 2 weeks when i was expecting upwards of 3 during that time, seemed to be built properly when it came considering its still running now lol. My friend also had an issue with his gpu and they arranged for its repairs with no added cost and it was resolved in a couple weeks as well.

Not trying to downplay your experience btw, just sharing my positive experience so far. I have seen a few negative testimonies regarding TF here on ozbargain though.

      • +10

I have bought 3 or 4 PCs from Techfast.

The measure of a company is not how they perform when everything goes right, it's about how they react when everything goes wrong.

        • +1

I had a shitty SSD, but otherwise ran hard for 2 years without issue.

Why go back after the second system was bad?

          • +3

@beeze: Because I wanted to give them another opportunity and the price was good (for the time)

Notice I didn't make a post until they flat out refused to replace a component that they admit is under warranty without me spending considerable time, effort and money.

I feel I gave them plenty of opportunities to prove themselves before this.

I was recently in a car accident and have suffered considerable injuries. It isn't easy for me to go to the post office. They know this. They don't care.

I would never have been okay with paying shipping two ways (or one) for a faulty component that is under warranty. But they've really just added insult to injury.

            • @Mattblack: So why go back again a 3rd and even 4th time ?

              • @Danstar: What are you talking about? I haven't bought from them again since October 2021 and their complete lack of accountability has ensured I will never go back.

                • +1

@Mattblack: But you've bought 3-4, were they all purchased before you had issues ?

                  • +1

@Danstar: Replied to your other comment with more detail.

Happy to answer any further questions in that comment chain.

    • +1

Just made an acc to say thank u. I was gonna buy this and then i read your post. Do u have any recomendations of more legit companies?

      • Hey mate, happy to help.
Depending on your budget I'd say have a look at BPC but honestly you can't beat this for price:performance at the moment

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/717061

        • Thank u ill have a look

      • Your 'more legit' will mean higher prices. If you are building PCs with nice graphics cards/cpu's at a very budget price, then they need to cut costs somewhere (options are support/cooler/psu/ssd/ram/case). Most just want their 3070 build for rock bottom dollar (as you can tell from the votes). I'd pay the premium for better overall quality or build it yourself if you can and get better quality at lower price.

    • +5

I bought a prebuilt from TF a few months ago (12400f+3070). I had to make a few QOL requests and also change my order completely - I probably sent about 20 emails in total. Caleb responded within an hour and I was very impressed by their client service. I knew the delivery was going to be slow after reading posts on here but I received the PC around a week after I updated my order (got a refund for the old order and purchased a better deal they had posted).

Overall I was very impressed and wanted to post about it somewhere. Actually planning to buy another tf PC for my old man.

Sounds like you had the opposite experience but I just wanted to share a positive story - they might have just had a bad day

      • +1

        A bad day maybe.

Mistakes are acceptable but only when the company holds themselves accountable.

They've dropped the ball at almost every opportunity with this one.

    • +2

The rep has logged in since your post. The fact the rep hasn't responded, speaks volumes.

      • They know I've been involved in a (not at fault) motor accident and have suffered considerable injuries.

They know that my PTSD doesn't allow me to handle stress well. They know that I didn't want to have to resort to the ACCC.

They don't care. I feel so stupid for spending around $6000 with this company.

      • +1

Can think of one particular business on here that seems to do the play hard/ignore until posted on a forum, then goes above and beyond. The backflip trick seems to work if you attribute the non-action to someone else in the business allowing you to be the ozbargain saviour.

        • +2

Caleb is the issue. I haven't dealt with Luke.

      • When you log into reddit do you read every post and reply to every comment…..

    • +6

Very similar to my experience with them. Shoddy build, different (worse) components than advertised and lacklustre customer service.

    • -5

Gets pc parts shipped, complains ordered prebuilt.
Gets built pc shipped, complained of things that can be caused by shipping.
      Customers in a nutshell.

      • +4

I'm sorry what? Your comment makes no sense.
I ordered a system and received a box of parts.
Next time you order a coffee I hope they throw hot water and grounds at you.

      • Nothing was caused by shipping. Ram doesn't magically unclip itself. It isn't an rgb header. It has retention clips.
The pc wasn't ever tested prior to being sent out. I guess we should blame the postman, huh?
The sooner you lay off the pipe the sooner you'll understand the reality of the situation.

    • +2

I have also had some of the above issues when I purchased from techfast.

      1. Fan issues
      2. Build quality
      3. no-name brand parts
      4. Motherboard failed USB I/Os (after a motherboard replacement)
      5. EXTREMELY slow customer service via E-mail comms only

I regret my purchase, but it's my fault for being lazy and not wanting to assemble my own PC and source parts. I had to send my PC back for failed motherboard, and the replacement still had issues.

I will never forget the time effort and frustration dealing with techfast. It is not worth a few $$ discount.

  • They know I've been involved in a (not at fault, rear ended by negligent driver) motor accident recently and have suffered considerable injuries. They know that I can't just mosey on down to the post office.

They know that the ACCC says that buyers should not be out of pocket for warranty returns.

They know that my PTSD doesn't allow me to handle stress well. They know that I didn't want to have to resort to the ACCC.

They don't care. I feel so stupid for spending around $6000 with this company.

    • Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately it’s another one of the many disaster stories you hear and why you shouldn’t buy from TechSlow. Their pre-builds are cheap and nasty just like their customer service. It’s likely TechSlow will be out of business soon when the level of quality and service drops this low. Think twice before buying from these cow boys.

  • +1

BPC has a 3090 build for 3k something wow

  • +3

No reply from OP to acknowledge and resolve people's problems? I am staying away from tech fast until OP shed light on why customers are having poor experience.

    • +4

You'll find with most businesses that you can make 1000 customers happy, but you'll only hear from the 1001st customer who had a poor experience.

Anyway; I've had 2 purchases from TF. No issues with the builds or customer service when the PSU fried in my first purchase 2 years later.

    • +2

      I've replied

  • +1

I had similar issues as some of the comments here when I purchased from techfast.

    Fan issues (poor assembly)
Build quality (GPU was not connected properly and the screw bent the chassis of the PC case)
no-name brand parts, GPU… no idea what brand it is, has no USB-C I/O
Motherboard was dead on arrival. Motherboard was then replaced with USB I/Os failing months after
EXTREMELY slow customer service via E-mail comms only, it is easily one of the most annoying part of this whole experience
I regret my purchase, but it's my fault for being lazy and not wanting to assemble my own PC and source my own parts. If I had a time machine I would have sought other options.

Despite people saying "probably 99% of their cust are satisfied, you're just a small outlier", it doesn't make sense that their customer service is still POOR when things does go wrong. Just because there are product faults from time to time, doesn't mean you can have an slow, inefficient and unresponsive customer service. Especially when you're selling products that cost thousands.

    • +1

The reasons most people go for pre-built systems is for that peace of mind in case something goes wrong. The fact that some people have complained about the systems not being built properly in the first place or hassles with warranty on faulty parts means they are not getting that service which they paid for.

  • Also no issues with my prebuild order.
Will likely be ordering another system when next gen drops

  • +8

I would like to write to say that Luke/Techfast has been in touch and made significant steps to amend for the massive issues that have occurred throughout this entire procedure.

He has accepted full responsibility for the issues and has provided a reasonable and fair outcome.

I would like to make it absolutely clear that Techfast had plenty of opportunity to resolve the concerns privately and failed in doing so. There would never have been need to make this post had they done that in the first place, and had I not publicly complained I would never have received satisfaction.

I would like to believe that Luke wasn't personally aware of the extent of the issues and the lack of customer support, as once Luke took over, he took it very seriously.

Thank you Luke for doing the right thing. As I have said above, the measure of a company is not how they perform when everything goes right, but how they react when everything goes wrong.

I am happy with the resolution.

    • +11

Thanks Matt. Our conversation was entirely civil, and your points and criticisms were all entirely valid. As you've stated, I took responsibility that we got it wrong, due largely to some internal communication issues and decisions that were made in light of incorrect information. For those reading on, the time taken in responding privately and publicly was to ensure that I had the full information, including interactions about the other issues with the order, which were in a separate case via previous customer service reps no longer with us.

But regardless, it should never have reached the point where you felt the only viable option you had was posting publicly, with or without expectation of resolution after doing so. While it's pleasing that others have offered experiences where our service has been good, and cases that reach this level are rare (and have also decreased significantly from previous years), that does not all invalidate or diminish your experience, which I have quite clearly seen was unacceptable.

I would also like to publicly support Caleb who has taken over a good portion of my work here on OzBargain recently, and who I know does a great job in Customer Support. No one gets it right all the time, he's not the only one to have erred in this case, and we've addressed that both as a unit and with management.

      Luke
