  • well NOT reduced to $9 yet

How did people go last time getting their Sims?

    • +4

I got sim within 5 days, I stay in regional victoria

    • For me it was 3 days, and that included a weekend. Impressed

    • +1

In Brisbane. I ordered two sims and got them nine days later. Both tracked to Cashrewards, almost immediately from what I remember.

BM didn't send any postal tracking information. That should have come by text and email supposedly. I contacted BM on day 8 via those ridiculous website chat sessions and they were eventually able to provide the tracking info. From that, it looks like BM dispatched them the same day, They travelled to Brisbane overnight, and then spent 7 days sitting in a Aust Post warehouse 10 KMs away from me for 7 days.

At least this was better than my last Aust Post delivery experience! Ordered an relatively expensive and relatively heavy and fragile item from Sydney. Why the supplier sent it parcel post, I don't know. Parcel arrived in Brisbane within a few days and then spent over two weeks touring every every Aust Post warehouse and post office in the city, being thrown onto trucks nearly every day and taken to random locations nowhere near us. When it eventually arrived, the exterior packaging was open and visibly damaged. The local Aust Post delivery guy, who is always good, took photos, as did I, and reported the issues, as did I. No contact from Aust Post after two months. Fortunately the item manufacturer packed the item itself EXTREMELY well (Thank you Intel!!) and while the interior package had some compression damage, the item appears to have survived intact.

      • Wow, bad experience and worse than I even thought. Was that order of yours from one of the

Intel NUC M15 laptop deals that have been posted here. I would also not be happy if it was.

I'm also in Brisbane and notice many postal items from Melbourne/Sydney take longer to arrive than

when I lived regional NNSW. Amazon is faster though to Northern Suburbs Brisbane.

        • It was a NUC11btmi9, so fairly large and heavy, about the size of a shoe box (takes a full length graphics card) rather than the usual palm sized NUC desktops. The Intel packaging was really substantial and saved my bacon in this case.

  • My last first choice still hasn't tracked :(

    • I made two orders last weekend when the deal was on. The second one has tracked but the first one hasn't

  • $9 deal not on yet

    • +1

I’ve messaged TA for an update :)

  • -3

Waiting for 100% cashback for 365 days ones

    • Does that ever happen?

    • +3

      Let him wait.

      • +3

Buy 13 SIM to 13 addresses via 13 CR accounts.

        13 * 28 = 364 days

        • +1

That won't be fun to redeem.

          • +3

@Techie4066: Alternatively, order 1 or 2 each month. It seems to be a fortnightly deal now.

            • @Neoika: I'm mainly talking about contacting Boost each time in the hopes they'll move your number over.

  • Shows $9 when you get on boost but still trying to charge $30

    • +1

The discount now applies at checkout :)

  • +2

Can anyone advise if getting this would interfere with a pending CR payment from a previous Boost deal? I have one 'hanging'

    • +1

      Same here

  • Anyone worked out the numbers to maximise FCL cash back yet? :P

    $150 is it?

EDIT: ex-gst so $165 for $30 cash back. Pass

    • Yes, $165. However, if TWENTY ($20 off $200 spend) becomes eligible code on CR then you'd be better off spending an additional $35 to reach $200 spend and get $20 off your purchase. You wouldn't earn additional cashback but extra $35 value for $15 net spend.

NB: conditions include cashback is ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards. You'd be risking $30 cashback to get $20 - plus spending more in the process

  • So with this $9 cashback deal you can buy as many as you like?

    • +1

Yes but make sure you only buy 1 sim per transaction.

You must click through from CR again at the start of every transaction.

  • +3

looks like these suckers are still blocking me from purchasing any more sims since i bought two in the second last cashrewards deal

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    • Use incognito.

      • i think they are blocking based on delivery address

        • +2

You can sign up for free Auspost parcel locker and have it delivered there. Anything letter sized they will actually just deliver to your address.

      • +2

I tried that, still getting blocked!

    • Yeap, same issue SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG.
      Have tried two Browsers

CORRECTION: It worked. I entered incorrect CVC on Cr/Card first time around.

  • What's the cheapest way to port in and out these days? The last time I did it the $2 Sims from the supermarket needed a recharge to work properly, but that was a while ago, maybe it's changed?
I have one of these from the least deal, and want to buy again, but not spend much on the port.
    TIA.

  • +1

Theoretically you could just a get bunch of Sims for free without a cap?

  • Looks like BOOST wants to artificially boost their customer numbers LOL

  • +1

First Choice has $20 off $200 spend, however, code TWENTY needs to be applied and it's currently not listed as a coupon code on Cashrewards. If you are wanting that discount as well, I'd be waiting to see whether it gets added before risking using it and expecting cashback as well.

There's also 2,000 flybuys bonus points when you spend $50 - no code required. So potentially good value if you can stack with code TWENTY

    • Any updates on this before I pull the trigger?

      • Nah, still not listed and it states "Cashback is ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards". You could try messaging TA (tightarse) (CR rep on Ozbargain) but I haven't seen him comment on this post. He normally addresses issues like this. I'm not buying anyway. Stocked up a few weeks ago when another good offer came up.

  • Good deal, but boost and telstra, and maybe other telcos look like they are clamping down on multiple activations by the same person.

Cannot activate after ID is verified, i put in email address and home address, then click next and get the following error :

    Something went wrong
We’re unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later.

tried different emails, phones, computers, vpn, same message. 30 days is coming up on the 19 august

    Has anyone solved it ?

    • +1

I doubt it's that as I have purchased several in the past (and one today) using the same email, address, mobile no. on all at time of purchase. There is no law against buying many SIMs. One could be buying for family, employees etc.

      • Kogan only allows 5 prepaid MAX from all providers

        • +1

          Kogan is a coward

    • did you signup with different email addresses?

it is possible it it linked to the email that appears on the last page of the order screen.

  • +1

Curious, why are people purchasing multiple? To use instead of home broadband?

    • Can also be handy for spare Mobile numbers to sign up for Trials on places like "KAYO" . They like many, require a different mobile for each Trial.

      • Ah, I thought those free trials were based on credit card

        • Some free membership sign ups require sms verification like chatime, schnitz, grill'd

I have two phones. One is android and one is apple. I use them for testing software for work and also ensuring compatibility with browsers etc on both platforms.

  • Thanks OP. I used the $10 gift card I got from the BWS Happy Birthday deal!
    https://ozb.me/o/2x8v?u=em

Cashrewards sent the tracking email straight away

  • Do you still get free AFL streaming through Boost?

  • Another error at the Boost checkout. That's 3/3 bad experiences with Boost!!!

  • thanks, ordered 10. hope it works, still a good price.

  • +1

During activation, are we required to register as the same person who purchased it via cashrewards?

    • +2

      No.

  • +1

Been trying to activate sim and always get an error. Anyone else have this issue?

    • +1

Yeap. Had to call Boost and get them to do it.

    • Yes, just trying today and getting error after entering address details. Not very convenient if it is a permanent issue. =(

  • This deal isn’t expired as when I initially posted it, it was supposed to run until Tuesday. Currently you can get $1 profit from TA’s deal

    • I am waiting for $3+ profit as I already have enough SIMs to go through, e.g.

      • Lol, my comment got negged and someone marked my deal as expired
I’ll unexpire it if it’s still available after TA’s promo ends

Final day for any Boost Cashback is tommorow. So do it now.

    • What expiry do these sims have?

12 months from purchase date. Sim expiry set by BOOST staff before they send the SIM out, via a barcode scan.

        • cheers

        • +1

Are you sure that you're not thinking of Belong? All of the Boost starter packs that I've seen have an actual date. It's the Belong (and Vodafone, and Kogan) starter packs that I have that say 12 months from purchase.

          • @Colin2905: No, I'm thinking of Boost.

12 months expiry for Boost SIM's after pre-activation by staff.

            • +1

@rockabyurbear: What's your source for this? If it's true, what does the expiry date on the pack refer to?

      • +1

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

        Special Terms for cashrewards.

    • Thanks, OP. Just got one sim card ordered

      • +1

      • Click the link

Where does it say on the CR website that it's actually giving 100% cashback? Just to be sure

        100% cashback 👏

      • +2

It does not exactly say that you will get 100 % cashback but the following is listed on the Boost Mobile Cashrewards page under the Boost Mobile Offers & Coupons section:
