    Don't forget the price :) $299.

  • +2

    Price in title please.

  • +1

Price and company in title please.

  • +3

Do they give you a new battery?

    • +3

No. It's a lottery. I bought 2 Boost "refurbished" iPhone 8's. One had a new battery, the other one was showing 72% battery health.

      • Oh. In that case, whats the refund policy?

        • You can pay slightly more for ones with a new battery, usually.

          • @[Deactivated]: How? At the store when you pickup?

            • @expatOz: As an option on the online stores, they'll often have a "new battery" sale item.

        • +1

They accepted the second one as a return, but weren't able to replace it because they claimed their stock inventory had been depleted. So I was eventually issued a refund.

          • @aja12: How did you return yours? I have tried to return mine but they keep pointing me around. Customer service told me to go to the store. Store told me to call customer service.

      • +3

If new battery id be all over this for upgrade for my folks

    • New battery from Apple isn’t that bad. Around $80 IIRC.

      • +9

Nope, battery is actually $109 for these models.

    • Bought one today at $279 using the VALUE20 code and it's got 93% battery life and not a scratch on it…

  • -8

The price is 299$ (The title shows 279$)

    • +1

you need to add the coupon code

    • $20 discount with code.

      • +1

        What about my second head?

        • +4

Your second head is a one-eye monster, without ears.

  • +16

love it when they say 72 Point Inspection.
    make me laugh every time

    • +24

Would have brought one if it had of had 73 points of inspection. What a shame.

      • +33

Where would you bring it to?

        • +1

Brought and bought kills me everytime

    • +2

Guess it's like 100 points of ID :D

    • Same as capped car service

    • Explain? Why is it funny?

    • +3

i read as they touch it 72 times then say DONE

      • +5

Maybe they count each screw or something… 70 screws, 1 battery, 1 screen. PASS!!

      • +5

They check that a list of 72 things works properly. You can see the list here

    • 72 virgins

      • You were reading my lips…….

    • +5

The first point is to skip the remaining 71.

  • +1

How do you order the thing? Wanted me to choose a delivery timeslot or direct to boot etc… Also how to choose colour ?

    • I have the same questions

    • +1

Don't think you can choose the colour here. Will depend on store availability once you go for collection.

    • +1

For colour, I think you click on the small pictures..

  • I have order it one

  • What sort of packaging?

  • +3

$279 for 4 years old iphone.
Would the phone still useful in today's standard?

    • +7

Yes, it functions just fine has the latest software still.
      Performance is still decent enough.

    • +1

Yes, iPhone 7 is older and perfectly usable

      • +2

        It won't have iOS 16

    • My son has this phone; no issues with performance

    • +5

      It's not a phone..it's a chopper. Pays for it self. 👌

      • +1

I still have my iphone 5s chopper :D

        • same. 5s chopper is best chopper

      • @ChurBoi @yoquierotaco @tdw I got this phone now. Can you please share infortion to make it a chopper. I was searching this page https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678629, may be I need more specific step by step information.

        • +1

download 3utools, connect your phone, go to toolbox and find virtual location. choose site where you want chopper to land. make sure your phone is unlocked from lock screen. apply location, open up 117 app, get your fuel lock then reboot your phone (also from toolbox) to smugly fly your chopper back.

        • +1

like tdw said - just use the virtual location under 3utools. simple and easy. find price using ElevenMe app (support the dev also).

    • It will also get software updates for another 3 years based on Apple's 7 year support

      • -1

with limited functionality on 64GB (3GB RAM). U cannot upgrade hardware with iOS
Most cheaper new phones have more capable hardware

    • It’s literally my phone. Glad I got it in a good guys deal at the time

      • +1

It helps with used stocked for these still being pretty good, they were sold new until September last year for just over 500 bucks. So while it’s a 4 year old design, a lot of refurbs are less than 2 years old.

  • +1

Anybody know what the standard is for Apple to keep releasing updates to their phones after release? I don't want to buy this knowing that there are no more updates within a year or so.

    • +2

Knowing Apple, the phone may get 2 more years of updates. The iPhone 8 was released in 2017 and is getting iOS 16.

      • +1

        Cheers.

      • +1

My Iphone6 plus is still getting the latest updates. Not sure for how much longer.
        Does everything i need….

        • +1

Then this is cheap upgrade for you, you won't be getting the latest update.

        • +1

IOS 16 will be out soon, and only supports from iphone 8 upwards… so it might be time to upgrade soon :)

        • +2

iPhone 6/6+ gets security updates, but not version updates, meaning its stuck on IOS 12. IOS 16 will be released next week.

          • @Dogsrule: My 6S Plus has the latest iOS upgrade, ie 15.6.1 (released a couple of weeks ago). It won’t get iOS 16, but have been told it will continue to get security updates for a few more years.

            • +1

@Ozpit: yep, that’s not a 6 though as @Dogsrule said. 6 has been unsupported for a couple years, and 6s & 7 have been lucky to receive updates. iPhone X & 8 may be receiving their last update with ios 16, and would expect iphone XR to only be supported until end of ios 17 (24 months left).

              • +1

@chrislinke: Spot on, my thoughts exactly regarding update support for those models.

    • +6

the XR will get IOS 16, but the iphone 7 won't. That's a 2018 phone vs a 2016 phone. So maybe another 2 years? Apparently Apple will support a device with updates for 7 years

    • Iphone7 is still being updated

      • +5

Only for iOS15. like others have said anything older than iPhone 8 wont get iOS16

        • I just meant that Apple take care of updates for a long time, so if this is newer than iPhone 7 it's going to be fine for a good while

    • 1 more update after iOS16 but many features will not work as it has limited RAM & hardware. No extended micro SD memory like on other phones - consider if 64GB is enough for you (no 5G for fast transfer & slow USB 2 with outdated port that will be upgraded to USB-C next year across all phones)

  • "in depth"

  • +5

hate it when coles gift card can't be used online

  • +1

Is this replacing their iPhone 8 stock? Very nice. There's still another year or two of updates for the phone. Bought one to replace my son's OG iPhone SE for his bday. Thanks OP!

  • One question, how to choose colour?

    • +1

i think you can choose color when you pick up at store

    • +1

I don't think you can choose the colour here. Will depend on store availability once you go for collection.

    • +1

i think theres a 30 day guarantee. if you aren't happy you can go in and exchange it for another

    • +1

put a cover with the colour of your choice on it.

      • Not everyone wants to use covers.

        • +2

Not everyone can buy an iPhone xr phone Coles at $299

  • This is an excellent deal for someone upgrading from an aging iPhone 6 (or older)

  • +2

    Not bad…

I got an XS Max 256GB in excellent condition for $400 not that long ago…
