    Price error?

    • +18

      Too soon…..
Still waiting for my poorly worded cancellation email from Dell.

      • no

    • Not sure, you get a 25% discount, then you can apply a second 20% discount. for the moment i think this is the cheapest 34" ultrawide on the market. AND its one of the best sub $1000. I was going to buy it at the $670 price, happy to have it for 530 though

      • I bought two a few months ago & stacked them

        • +1

I did the same, they're great monitors 👌

    • +3

I don't think this is an erorr. here is the link to the past deal:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725111

    • -3

      I want 38" not 34"

    • yes

    • +4

      Only if it is $89.

    • +1

No this is standard sale price

  • +2

    Here we come again

  • +20

I believe heaps of us already got Dell Monitor discount PTSD .

    • +1

oh shit, im new here, did this happen last time too?

      • +3

The Epic topic , please take your time to laugh .

        • +4

          hahah woooow!!!

to be fair, $2.5k monitor on sale for $250, pretty clear error. this is just on discount, has been this price before, but I am now cautious of a cancellation!!

  • +17

    Say no to Dell

    • -1

Did Dell try to have sex with you without your consent?

      • +36

Yep. They raped my wallet and never provided any child support. What's more, they knew the child had a genetic defect and even though it was direct from Dell they didn't even contact me to let me know the child could be fixed under a recall and live a full life. Then my child suffered its expected fate, RIP.

        • +4

          terrific post, well done :)

  • +1

Don't think it's a price error. They have been on sale a few times already around this price.

    • This is the standard SALE price

  • +7

The IRN: AUXXXXXXXXXXXX cannot be processed further as the price of the monitor has been listed incorrectly.
The actual price of this monitor is $2499.

  • +11

On my way to live chat my main man muzeeb

  • +7

hang on. let me check with our Dell God Muzeeb first

    • +1

I missed the previous Dell monitor shenanigans, who is the prophet Muzeeb?

      • I think he was the bloke that was smart enough to push through his order in the business chat of DELL by confirming his address or something.

        • +2

nah, he was one of the Dell chat agents that allowed people to confirm their orders.

  • -1

They will likely not honour being dell

    • +4

i think they will, they sold at this price a few times before

      • +4

It's been less before. Just a lot of salty people who didn't get a $2500 monitor for $250 lol.

  • +9

Stay the dell away from this deal
OP is a new account. Most likely a dell employee trying to win back customers

    • +1

      Joseph

    • +3

      it is VA panel

    • I have this monitor and its amazing

      • Nice try Joseph

  • +7

    Give me the Alienware deal

  • +4

Despite all the (hopefully) joke posts still salty over the price error 38" this is a pretty gold price for this.

  • -7

    (profanity) dell

  • +3

Wake me up when you find a oled with Thunderbolt 4

    • +2

I think you can sleep forever ;p

      • +2

Will reply once I find it

  • +5

no Dell posts until Black Friday plz.

  • +1

why all the beef about dell?

    • +12

Mainly from those salty and entitled members recently.

      • please explain

        • +6

          People expected a $2500 monitor for $250 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725021

          • +7

@Chickenleg: Knowing fully well that the businesses have no obligation to honour genuine pricing mistakes.
Then they whine and whinge when their order gets cancelled. 🤣🤣

            • +2

@darkmattersunB6c0MV: It's hilarious that people expect that to be honored, then the same Ozbargainers upvote a RRP Switch deal just because it is in stock…

          • @Chickenleg: That's gotta be jump one instance right?

Otherwise if it's like Kathmandu kind of inflated style pricing and marketing drop then that's normal…?

I can't think to articulate.. But you get it.

    • Mate, (profanity) dell

      • +1

I guess there's no winner winner for you chickendinner.

  • +4

That's not a price error. This was going for ~$502 with student discount a few days ago.

  • +8

So many salty ozbargainers here. Did you really expect to get a $2500 monitor for $250? Get over it and move on!

    • +2

      Yes its ozentitled…

      • -4

And i just got negged by an ozentitled too…

  • +6

    Got a few at work

Pretty shit monitors to be hobest

    • Yep. Why would you WANT to buy this?!

  • -8

    Thanks for posting the deal.

    • +1

I purchased this and was very happy with it though the vertical height is a tad too short tbh

Not sure why people negged me for posting my mini-review

  • +14

    Enter coupon code ‘MUZEEB’

  • +3

You got some big balls showing your face round 'ere after last time…

  • +4

This vs Alienware 38" Ultrawide monitor?

    • +1

      Neither.

  • Dont think it's a price error. Just last week it was listed at this price on Dell AU website ($539.80) and i was contemplating buying using my 10% Amex offer - sub $500.

Hesitated and didn't end up buying it (i already have the xiaomi 34).

    • +2

I used to own the dell around a year back, and recently switched to the xiaomi as don't like the "gamer" look on the dell. Honestly can't tell any difference at all between the two, plus the xiaomi is slightly cheaper.

      • I was just thinking if this monitor would be better than the xiaomi 34" curved… no noticeable difference at all?

        • +3

In my usage case as an average user who just uses it for some work and youtube (No gaming), I couldn't tell a single difference between the 2 other than the bezels and stand. The dell just has more of that gamer look whereas for me the xiaomi is more of a sleek black design.

  • +4

This is not a pricing error. Got one directly from Dell from last week's deal, with Unidays coupon code for $501.63.
Love the monitor, but careful- it does not have a speaker, yet shows up on the audio panel.
Drove me crazy for an hour trying to fix the problem before searching on Google to discover that the confusion was not unique to me.
Use it as a WFH screen.

    • Can it do PiP/PbP?

      • Although I haven't tried it, the feature is there in Dell Display Manager, which gives this layout option.
Edit: verified from the manual as well that this is supported.

      • Yes It can, install the dell display manager and the app gives you an option to do this.
I tested this by connecting my macbbook air and I could view this on one quater of the screen.

Although I dont know how to control the smaller screen(mac) with the same keyboard or mouse.

        • you would need to use a software KVM program like MouseWithoutBorders or LG Flow (if you have a logitech mouse). It lets you share the 1 mouse and keyboard across multiple monitors.

    • How’s the text smearing/ghosting on the monitor? Particularly on white text + dark backgrounds?

      • +1

The text is bad, I can read but appears very different. I will try to upload an image later.

        • Thank you!

  • +2

Got my 38' Alienware monitor cancellation email a few days ago, Dell didn't honor the deal. AND FxxK Dell.

    • +9

Of course they didn't honor it, RRP $2499 and incorrectly sold for $249. You can take a chance jumping on a crazy price error like that but it was always a 99% chance of just getting it refunded.

  • Still torn between this and the one with kvm…

    • +1

I connect my work laptop and my home PC to the same monitor so KVM is essential as I can't install mousewithoutborders or LG Flow software as a software KVM.

  • +1

Can anyone comment on the smearing/ghosting on this monitor? Buying it for gaming + work (coding, terminal) so heaps of white text dark background. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

    • I bought mine in January and it's been brilliant so far. No smearing/ghosting yet and I'm using it for around 9 hours a day WFH plus a bit of gaming on the weekend

      • Thanks for the input - what sort of work do you do?

        • Sorry mate only just saw this. I'm a surveyor but may as well be a project manager. Spend all day on teams, CADD and o365

          • +1

@WaTtieS: All good, thanks so much for the input!

  • +1

I picked this up for $495.20 back in August 2021. I've been very happy with the performance and image quality. I've used it for gaming mostly, WoW, Modern Warfare and a few other games. I also use it for work, excel, word and the occasional image and video edits. I use the Display Port Cable for PC and also via a HDMI for a laptop.

    • What resolution/fps for MW/Warzone? I'm building a new pc with 5900X and 3080Ti and considering using this dell (I have it already) or a 4K/150Hz monitor.

      • Haven't run MW for a bit, but I was only using a 2080 at like 1600 or so. Handled it well. If I recall it was upscaling to 3440 or maybe it was 2500 something (I could potentially reinstall to check).

A 3080ti should chew through MW easy though.

    • +1

Bro that's too cheap. How you get big discountie

  • +1

Can confirm this is not a pricing error. Ordered one for that price and got it delivered this week.

  • -5

Ehh how come negative votes against Qantas deal over complaints about the company aren’t removed but negging this deal for same basic reason gets the vote revoked? Dell cancelling orders is a valid reason to neg a deal from them.

    • +4

RRP $2499 and incorrectly sold for $249. You can take a chance jumping on a crazy price error like that but it was always a 99% chance of just getting it refunded. What did you expect?

It would be valid to neg this deal if they refunded it but you are talking about a completely different "deal" that was an obvious price error. Negging this deal for something completely unrelated is invalid.

      • -5

Mate l, people negged the Qantas deal because they didn’t like the ceo, this is just as valid as that.

        • +4

Dell = unintentional glitch / honest mistake
Qantas CEO = intentional scum giving himself a pay rise after firing half the company!

Do you honestly not see the difference?

I really feel for you if you don’t have the intellectual intelligence to distinguish the difference…

          • @neosin: I see the difference being a matter of opinion. Not anything objectively relevant to either deal but allowed in one case and not the other.

  • No USB-C - not an option for me, especially as a Mac user. Better 34" monitors out in the market in similar price range if you're looking for an in-built USB-C hub that supports charging and display with a single USB-C cable. I know I can use a hub or a DP/USB-C converter cable, but that's too much extra clutter and cost!

Plus so much hate for Dell due to them not honouring their last pricing error deals and not even offering a discount/credit for their own f'up - so I'll pass Dell from now on. They should be banned from OZB.
