nbn 50/20 $59.95/Month, 100/20 $74.95/Month, 250/25 $99/Month, 500/50 $109/Month for 12 Months (No Lock-in Contract) @ Leaptel

2830

Following the success of our spring 12 month promotion, we have extended the promotion to become an ongoing promotion with no planned end date.

I am happy to report that following a successful trial in October, we now use GSL for our international transit (instead of Vocus), which has made a significant difference to the quality of our international speeds.

The nbn offer

Down Speed Up Speed First 12 Months Ongoing Typical Evening Speed Down
50Mbps 20Mbps $59.95 p/m $74.95 p/m 50Mbps
100Mbps 20Mbps $74.95 p/m $89.95 p/m 100Mbps
100Mbps 40Mbps $84.95 p/m $99.95 p/m 100Mbps
250Mbps 25Mbps $99 p/m $119 p/m 250Mbps
500Mbps 50Mbps $109 p/m $129 p/m 500Mbps

All the above have unlimited data.

$0 activation including for month-to-month. We do offer a 24 month option if you need a modem and don't want to pay upfront for it.

Speed & Service

We are with nbn directly on 121/121 nbn POIs which means guaranteed no CVC congestion as we control our own CVC and have lots of headroom.

IPoE/DHCP is our standard connection method (no vlan tagging required) and we are happy for you to BYO modem. We do support PPPoE as well should you wish to use that connection method.

All connections are CGNAT by default, however you can disable CGNAT and receive a IPv4 dynamic IP at no cost through our portal, full details at https://leaptel.com.au/faq-cgnat/.

We support IPv6 in a trial/alpha configuration and can be toggled on in our portal.

We have points of presence in data centres in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney with peering and transit in each. You can check out our looking glass at - https://lg.leaptel.com.au/.

Our support team is located in Box Hill, Melbourne, so when you have a problem you're talking to someone local. Wait time are kept to a minimum and we support livechat and email tickets as well.

500Mbps & nbn fibre upgrades

As I mentioned we're now offering 500Mbps/50Mbps, which with a 12 month discount is a great option if you're eligable for nbn's fibre upgrade program, which you can find more details about at https://leaptel.com.au/nbn-fibre-upgrade/.

Existing customers

If you are an existing customer and have not had a promotion in the last 12 months we will be happy to provide you with this discount. Please just contact our support team which you can do very easily at https://leaptel.com.au/contact/.

In any other circumstances also just reach out and see what our team can do, we are willing to assess any reasonable requests on a case by case basis.

Opticomm

If you're in an Opticomm area we have different 6 month offers which can be found at https://leaptel.com.au/opticomm-plan/. We'd love to match the nbn offer but Opticomm's wholesale pricing is more expensive than nbn and we presently absorb a $99 ex gst activation charge for all new connections alongside other charges. There is presently a ACCC process underway which may result in increased regulation on Opticomm (and other non-nbn broadband) and we're hopeful that once completed we will be able to align our Opticomm pricing and promotions with nbn.

Who we are

Many of you won't know who Leaptel is. And that's fair, we've mostly been focused on providing services on the Opticomm network which has allowed us to do what we're now doing on nbn.

To keep it brief, this is who we are:

We are 100% Australian owned and operated.
We are 100% committed to providing a high quality product.
We are 100% dedicated to providing the best customer service possible.
We are 100% devoted to improving every day in everything we do.
We are 100% willing to own our mistakes and learn from them.

And I think our reviews back this up.

Please check out our Whirlpool Thread if you'd like to know more about us.

I will happily answer any questions anyone has.

Edit 05/01/2023 - As of 24/12/2022 we have been making our nbn CVC graphs publicly available at https://metrics.leaptel.com.au/dashboards

    • Hi Milkywayss,

Thanks for pointing out the IP address situation and mentioning the $10 static IP option. Just to clarify a bit, our IP addresses are dynamic, so they can change whenever the session is refreshed. They don't usually change daily unless there's some sort of service issue or if the connection is being reset daily by the user. If you notice otherwise please reach out to our support team.

      • @LeaptelRep what causes a session to refresh? Is it a router power cycle? I cannot use CGNAT due to the network structure of Forged Alliance Forever, but a dynamic IP that's stable for the duration of any given game would be fine.

        • Your session would refresh if your router lost connection to our BNG. Eg. Power cycle, outage of some kind whether it be nbn or our side. But it wouldn't refresh in the middle of a game or anything…

          • @LeaptelRep: Cheers, I'll sign up then

            @LeaptelRep:

But it wouldn't refresh in the middle of a game or anything…

It would if they power went out during one! ;)

  • Signed up ystd for today. Speeds are about as bad as spintel though. 50/20 => getting 30 down evening. didn't change any configuration settings as it worked out of the box of connecting my nbn and router. would any configs help?

    • Hi Freestyle18,

Please reach out to our support team. We do not have any CVC congestion (CVC graphs are available at https://metrics.leaptel.com.au/) so if you are having slow speeds then the issue is either going to nbn side of the network, or your home setup. Our team can help narrow it down for you.

  • I signed up yesterday. Signed up to 500/50 deal and the speed I’m getting only 150/25 for the last 2 days. And the internet dropped out as I m typing on my 5g…..

    I’m not sure why.

      Hi Charliechao,

I would encourage you to speak to our support team. They are there to support you for any internet issues you're having such as slow speeds or dropouts.

They are based in Australia and we have minimal wait times on both phone and livechat.

  • Just thought I should metion - lost my leaptel referral code as it was published on a public site. I'm blaming the OzBargain system where you enter it in the referrals area. Shame as 50$ off for each person is handy. Will have to move RSP and join again down the track, after my intro period is over.

  • Why is the upload speed only 25mb on a 250mb connection. Would have loved to get this but at a min of 40mb upload.

    • Hi Renvilo,

We can only sell the nbn plans that they allow us to sell. The residential speed tier from nbn for 250Mbps comes with only 25Mbps upload so that is what we sell.
We do have a 500/50 plan but yes it does cost more.

  • Anybody else getting daily disconnection at random intervals a day?

    • Hi Dezeption,

If you're having any issues with your connection please get in touch with our team. There is minimal wait times and you can also interact with us on livechat via our website if you'd rather not speak to someone on the phone.

  • @LeaptelRep - is it possible to sign up for the month to month plan and later upgrade to this 12 month plan if you are happy with the connection and speed?

    • Hi Rollin,

      Apologies for not replying earlier.

All our plans are month-to-month. You do not need to lock in for 12 months to get this discount, it just applies for the first 12 months. You can cancel at anytime.

  • Moving from Aussie Broadband’s 100/40 plan to Leaptel’s 500/50 plan, ABB can’t compete with the value, I’m hoping the service is good as I got burnt when going from Superloop to Tangerine recently.

    • How's your experience been thus far?

      • +1

I don’t have any regrets, a couple of slowdowns at times otherwise it has been reliable/very fast.

  • Thanks have signed up. Churned from exetel so let's see how this is like :)

    • Can I get referral code? I want to sign up too. Thanks

      • +2

Best to use the referral link at the top of the page underneath the post details.

        • Yes, I already did. Thanks

    • bro did u call or email exetel 30days in advance to stop nbn? i didn't want to call if there's other way.

      • Yeah the only way to cancel is to call

  • I don't see 100/40 on their website anymore… Is that plan discontinued?

    • Found it… It's an additional option which pops up after selecting 100/20 and asks if you want to opt for a $10 boost to 100/40

  • Does leaptel use IPOE where you don't need to put in your username/password??

Currently using ABB FTTN and paying $99 per month

    • Yes, LeapTel support both IPoE and PPPoE. You can turn on/off for IPoE, CG-NAT and IPv6 from the member portal.

  • I'm currently on HFC with Australia Post Connect.. I have Google nest wifi set up, when I transfer to Leaptel will my existing set up just continue working?

  • just switched from superloop. service switched over in less than 20 minutes from completing the application. only downtime was restarting modem (2 mins). download/upload speeds are fine. however my ping in Valve gaming servers increased from 25ms to 50ms :( @LeaptelRep any idea here?

  • +1

How are the pings? I am a gamer with Superloop and the pings are good and the connection’s stable there but I’m tempted by these deals…
