Someone higher up said Bundll doesn't work. Zip apparently does

      • ppl are still using BNPL? Wow, okay

        • Zip anywhere is basically a credit card

          • @blighst: The whole BNPL bubble was always offering exactly the same thing as credit cards already did for the previous 50 years. The only difference was they somehow managed to scam the authorities that it wasn't credit and therefore didn't need any regulation. Just quite how they did that still baffles, but was probably all to do with not wanting to snuff out innovation or do anything to stifle spending in a stagflation economy. Now though of course it's not a stagflation economy and regulation is just around the corner with credit checks coming in. You're soon going to need a microscope to see the differences between BNPL and credit cards.

  • Does Aldi qualify?

If yes, combine with ongoing gift card offer to get 14.5% off.

    • not sure if Aldi falls under supermarket which is excluded

      • It almost certainly does qualify as Colesworth-like supermarket

  • Anyone know if zip MC would be eligible?

That would bypass the coles and woolworths exclusion.

    • Zip works apparently per above

      • Can we use Zip on Coles to buy gift cards ?

        • Probably, if zip works then everything zip linked should

  • Has anybody had insurance work for them yet?

  • Is shopback considered retail?

  • One single purchase of $2,050 worth of Harvey Norman gift cards @ 2% discount through AGL/Signature Rewards for total spend $2,009 will get me over the line quite nicely in one hit thanks very much Citibank. $1,909 after rebate = 6.88% aggregate discount. Job done maxing this one out.

  • FYI HCF rewards MCC code 5947

  • Do we get any confirmation email or something to make sure the we have used for 5% cashback correctly

    • +1

A confirmation email should have been sent out on 25-November to confirm enrollment.

Based on the previous offer in August, no confirmation email was received to state whether $x had been attributed for the promotion.

In terms of expectations for cashback, again, based on the previous offer, this ran from 1-Aug to 7-Aug. I received the cashback against my account on 16-Sep.

  • Anyone know, apart from calling, if the MCC is able to be worked out?
Bought a tv online via Samsung this morning and curious to see if it was eligible.

    • +1

To my knowledge, the most accurate way would be calling up Citi who can provide the associated Merchant Code for the transaction (even if it's in Pending state). Some people here have offered their findings for various retailers. Anything else would be guessing, and different divisions within a business may have different codes assigned.

      • Thanks.
Ended up messaging them via online chat and was confirmed that the MCC for the pending transaction was 'electronic sales', so hoping that means it applies (that was in the list)

  • Anyone know if Telstra retail stores are classified as retail? Or do they count as telecommunications or utilities or something else

  • Transaction on Australia post will be eligible for cash back ?

    • Yeah if anyone could confirm the MCC for Auspost and if eligible for promo hat would be great

  • +3

    Eligible:
    Skechers Australia AUS
    MCC: 5661

    ShopBack Sydney AUS
    MCC: 5311

    Afterpay afterpay.com AUS
    MCC: 5999

    PAYPAL
    MCC: 5999

    • I thought PayPal sends through the MCC of the transaction with it? That is how my crypto card gets around using PayPal to get cashback on non cashback MCC categories. Or are you referring to just charging money to the card to add to your balance?

      • I meant

        PAYPAL *PYPL PAYIN4
        MCC: 5999

        • Hmm we could probably also use Revolt loading as well then?

          • @knobbs: make a small payment then go to live chat and ask them to check.

            • @sintro: Nada, even told it was treated as cash advance

        • Would you happen to know long does it takes for the payments to be confirmed? 1st time using Pay In 4, and I paid my purchase in full, ignoring the 1st payment they auto debit…duh! Presume they will just reverse the auto debit when everything is verified?

          • @tpa: I'm sure it'll adjust to the right amount.

            • @sintro: Thanks. I will keep an eye on it

    • Auspost?

      • maybe buy a 5c stamp in store then check with citibank.

  • Eligible:

    *AUSPOST ONLINE SHOP Melbourne AUS
    MCC: 5818

    *PREZZEE.COM.AU +61290932777 AUS
    MCC: 5399

If someone can check TRUE REWARDS that would be handy.

    • Eligible:

      *TRUE REWARDS / DIGITAL REWARDS
      MCC: 5734

    • How do you check the MCC of a shop after a purchase? Do you need to call up Citibank or is there a way to check on Citibank website or app?

      • +1

I jumped on live chat on Citi website and they can tell you the mcc after purchase

  • Can anyone tell me if I pay for my NRMA insurance, is it eligible for the cash back?

  • +2

    ZIP PAY
    MCC:5999 Confirmed

    • Glad I read your comment - pushing thru some bills now

  • Any interesting offers to take advantage of 5% Citi bank cash back

  • Agl Payment doesn't qualify
    MCC: 4900

    • Nah it wouldn't because that's a utility. You pay AGL with ING bank account for 1% cashback, but the AGL Rewards programme called Signature does qualify.

  • How does one tell what MCC the merchant is based on the posted transaction?

    • +1

      Literally five posts up

      • ah was double checking that there wasn't something in app or website I was missing. the above comment doesn't say it's not possible, just how they managed to get MCC

  • +1

if i use citibank credit card to pay off $500 of zip balance today the transaction will show pending and take time to clear so will it still count as transactions was made today even though it hasnt cleared?

    • +2

Last time this promotion was on, I called Citi to ask. And they told me the will go off the transaction date not the finalised date.

      So you should be OK.

  • Anyone know if post billpay is eligible?

  • anyone received their cashbacks yet?

    • Cashback will be calculated on your total eligible spend during the Promotion Period based on the Australian Dollar amount and will be credited to your Account within 60 days from the end of the Promotion Period provided your Account is open and in good standing.

so expected by Feb 2, 2023

      • ah thanks for that

    • Don't even think about looking for your $100 credits until mid-January at the very earliest. Based on last time in August, they don't process the credits until AT LEAST 45 days after you've qualified.

      • I have received mine, surprisingly much faster than previous promotions

  • Anyone got the cashback? I have been told this morning "ALDI" is not eligible. :(

    • Wow. You couldn't even read the post one up from yours before asking the question that had already been answered?

  • I rang today to inquire as it's been a while, after verifying I was on the accepted list, was told it will be credited with the 60 days listed in the terms.

    • And… mine's in today too.

  • +2

My cashback appeared today. A lot quicker than expected. A nice Xmas bonus!

    • Thanks for letting us know. Just checked mine and 5% cashback has been applied.

    • Nice, my $100 is in my account too.

  • Just received the $100 cashback this morning :)

    • +1

      Same. Received $100 today

  • I got around $50 cashback today as well

  • Only got $95 from my 2k spend. It would seem with the amounts I spent they haven't credited the $100 preezee shop I did

  • $100 here also
