What is the 'OzBargain Starter Pack?'

I'm thinking of putting together a sort of… Ozbargain Bingo for the Brisbane meet up (this weekend).

The stereotypical Ozbargainer - what items do they own/deals they've partaken in?

Judging by what's popular on the front page… I've got:
*Citibank/28 Degrees card for travel
*Some sort of Dyson vacuum
*R&M shoes?
*Amazon Prime Membership
*Has recently purchased RAM, an SSD or GPU
*Air Fryer Enthusiast
*OLED TV (LG C1/2) or 75+" LCD
*KFC is their favourite fast food
*Shares a 'family' subscription with other (estranged) Ozbargain 'family' members.

What else would you include here? Anything you'd change? What is the 'Ozbargain Stater Pack?

Cashrewards is definitely a base requirement for all ozb

An "I Won't Shop at Harvey Norman" badge and on the back it says "*unless there's a bargain".

but even then I'll feel dirty for giving them my money.

    Six recently used SIM cards
    Three soon-to-be-used SIM cards
Five mobile phones because, you know, Black Friday, pricing error, EOFY sale
Vacation snaps from a destination you had never discussed visiting with your wife/GF/kids, but to which you all traveled after being alerted to a pricing error that had a shelf life of 10 minutes, so no time to ask whether they wanted to go or not
Memorised travel times (in minutes and seconds) to the nearest JB Hifi/Costco/Big W/Kmart
    A working knowledge of Turkish
A backstory for a previously undiscussed branch of your family tree for when your wife asks, 'Who is Roger357?' when you are logging into a streaming account

Any misprint on price = bulk order, cross fingers and hope that the order is either fulfilled in the best case scenario if not it is cancelled and the money is returned in full.

Will readily sell their personal details by entering into random contests or to save a few dollars without looking into their data retention and usage policies.

    • +1

There are way too many of these users. Sure, you can use OB to save money, but for the most part it's rampant consumerism.

  • Signing up for a good shopback/cashrewards deal and watching the store rep panic as he tries to fix everything due to the deal not tracking properly

  • +2

Needs the usual 10 step process involving calling up support to save $5 on something.

    3 x Woodworm golf umbrellas

Lol, mine are still going. I also have a three smaller umbrellas from around about the same time which are still in use.

Complete garbage - I've been using ozbargain for years and have none of the list.

I think I'm a true cheapskate though - unless it's 50% off and I use it every single day I'm not going to buy it.

Actually I do think that's what's missing - the weekly Woolworths/Coles special food item to buy that's 50%+ off.

  • Wera and knipex tools!

  • +1

Get 4% off woolies shop by buying egiftcards.

Get 10% off one shop a month by using $150 woolies prepaid plan if you spend more than $125/month at woolies, it pays for itself.

Get $0.02 off every shop by choosing split payment and entering $0.02 off the total. It should automatically round to zero, if not then elect to pay $0.02 by cash which rounds to zero.

  • +1

Selecting EFTPOS and inserting card instead of tapping via paywave/paypass at Aldi to avoid 0.5% surcharge.

  • Amex Essential card
