We don't have esim capability yet but it is a top priority for us, we are working really hard to offer it as soon as possible for both existing customers and new customers!

      • Hey @boostmobileau I received my SIM yesterday from this deal, I'm trying to activate using my existing Telstra postpaid number, but it says "Unable to process request". I just clicked the Message Us box with the chat window popping up. I thought "Okay, someone must be working this late at night".

Would be helpful if your chat window informed clients that your staff are available 7am-11pm AEDT BEFORE I start typing a long drawn out message and not afterwards. Not off to a good start here…

        • Okay, so I try again in the middle of the day. Still get the same "Unable to process request" message. Click Message Us again. I get a response saying "We're upgrading our systems. Wait 4-24 hours then try again". I try a few times over the next 24 hours, then after 24 hours. Still same message. Getting pretty annoyed now..

Tried ringing up, I notice Boost are using overseas call centres. I ask to speak to a supervisor or manager; "We don't have supervisors or managers here". I ask if I can speak to Boost's head office; "We don't have a contact number for the head office in Australia". After plenty of dicking around, I eventually find out that I have to speak to someone to arrange activation because I'm an existing Telstra customer. I said to them there is no mention of this on their website. I said I'm really annoyed wasting a whole heap of time - I'm not activating the SIM and requesting a refund for a shit service I didn't even get to use.

Reminds me of Belong, incompetent and hopeless. @boostmobileau your company have shitted me off already, plus you have not bothered to follow up my last message. Bye bye.

  • "Value SIM includes first recharge. Data offer valid for new customers only who activate by 28 Nov 2022. Terms Apply." What happens if we activate after 28/11/2022?

    • may be cashback will be declined

    • You enjoy best-in-class 5G Boost coverage and service, but not the cashback. I call it a win-win-win-lose proposition

      • does Boost have 5g?

        • If you visit headquarters… nice place!

    • The extra data (10gb in this case) promo has set end dates. They usually start an identical promo right after. Essentially it exists so customers who let their plan auto-renew dont get the new sign up data.

  • Thanks OP got one.i was waiting for this offer.

I saw the virtual queue and it was long!

  • +1

when i get to the cart ready for payment it says $200 not $160 anyone else have this?

    • +1

kept trying and it applied the $40 credit the 2nd time

  • I'm guessing this won't work with pairing an Apple Watch (number share)? My wife was with Optus and tried to get the number share to work for a couple of months and they finally admitted that it was a network fault with no repair ETA.

    • +1

Boost don’t do number sharing at the moment. From what I can tell you have to go with one of the big 3 for that (Telstra, Optus or Vodafone)

      • This is interesting considering I can link my number to my google nest hub and it'll make calls no probs.

Wonder how number sharing differs from that.

  • I was with Boost , but now I am with Coles mobile.
Does anyone know am I eligible for this deal as New customer? Thanks

    • Boost might not remember you, but they probably remember your ID

      • +1

I wonder if they remember my number in their database…that's the question

        • More likely remember your ID

    • +2

I've ported out and back in the next day with no issues, I think some on here have done same day. I suppose once your nunber is with another provider you can then technically be a new boost customer.

      YMMV

      • Thanks!

      • Sounds like a good working definition

      • When did you do this and which provider did you use to port in and out of?

    • You are still eligible for this deal :)

  • not working atm. Going to Boost from Cashrewards shows the $200 sim as full price when checking out.

    • +1

Same for me. Shows $200 all the way along, even though the image / link on the home page of Boost (and the Cashrewards page) is advertising the $160 price.

Edit: now it's working after trying a few times.

      • @wouwout @brokenxsmile

I can only assume your browser is cached at the old price. Please try via the CR mobile app and let me know what you see. I've tested all browsers and app and can't replicate your issue. Thanks.

        • +2

I managed to get it to show the discount. But got "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later." on checkout.

          Will try later

          • @brokenxsmile: I'm getting this too! twice now!!! gotten all the way to the end just to get this crummy message grrrrrr

          • @brokenxsmile: Same, tried a few times, same error
Did you manage to buy one?

        • +1

I've cleared the cache but still no luck

  • +1

OP, when does this offer end?

    • +1

CR site says Expires: Nov 15, 2022, 11:59:00 PM

    • +1

      15 November.

  • -1

Is there any 24 or 36 month deal OP???

    • Boost only sell at max 12 month expiry sims, nothing more than that

  • +1

Tried purchasing without CR, got an error at the very end.

    • I'm getting the same, with CR toolbar activated.

      • Worked the second time around. Thanks OP.

  • When is the expiry for this?

    • 15 November.

      • What if you don't activate by 28/11?

        • You get the data allowance that’s allocated at the time — probably less GB

          • @tharlow: can anyone confirm how many GB is for this plan when not activated by 28/11?

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yes, but if they tell you they’d have to kill you

            • @[Deactivated]: It would be 130GB is you activate after 28/11 and probably they will decline your cashback.

              • +1

                @Bacha:

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

why would they decline cashback if I adhere to 30 days of activation?

                • @[Deactivated]: Yeah you are right its 30 days after ordering so it will be different depend when you order.

                  • @Bacha: I had received cashback from cashrewards before where i didn't activate boost mobile sim, the sim is going to be expired on 2024. I wonder should I purchase it now or wait until black friday?

  • +2

Oh bugger, my 12 months plan doesn't expire until Feb 😭

    • Same. We were on boost but moved to a Telstra deal last year expiring in feb

    • +1

Mine is expiring in Jan but i am with vodafone so that doesn't hurt if i port out early.

      • +2

        Voda reception is a joke

        • Sometimes i get H+ .. far out

      • -1

Same, I'm with amaysim expiring on Jan but im willing to port for this deal

  • Looks like it works for existing number. While purchasing it says

Keep your number or get a new one
You can choose to keep your current mobile number and transfer it to your new Boost service or use the number that comes with the SIM. Once your new SIM arrives, you can make this selection when you activate your SIM.

    here is image

    • I had this argument with Telstra when moving from post to prepaid. After buying a 1yr SIM that had 'Keep you number or get a new one' on the packaging they were like "oh keep your number is only if you port in".
Took a nice guy on chat an hour but he massaged the system to sort it.

    • Yes, you can bring your existing number across to Boost!

      • Is the validity of the plan 1 year from the date of activation? And the activation has to be within 30 days from purchase or can be delayed (keeping cashback issue aside)?

  • Weird, tried via app and it comes up 200$ ? First time using CR so do i need to try again ? It was 160$ but after putting all the details as requested, it ended up 200$ on the payment page. Thanks

    • Yep, happened to me as well.
Go all the way back to the start (CR), click through, should come up with $160. If not, refresh your browser and start again.

      • Thanks, Will try again.

    • same here I used the link on Cashreward website

  • damn just bought for 148 oh well

  • +1

Hey @tightarse, would you be able to secure some deals for the Boost $300 SIM? Was hoping to buy one but haven’t seen any upsized on these :/

    • +7

Hey BG! Working on something for BF on the more expensive plan, and hopefully it comes to fruition. No promises, but know that I am trying :)

      • +1

        Thanks! ❤️

        • +2

We need for $200 and $50 Cashback, $150 used to be the everyday price before Boost raised prices.

Raise prices and discount is the age old marketing mantra.

Amaysim used to hand out 6 months plans for $25 after Cashback

CR and SB need to push them more and OzBargainers not buy till the $300 is deeply discounted

      • Sorry, a silly question, do i need to key in my date of birth for the purchase ?

        • Yes

      • +2

Hey mate, is there any chance of an Amaysim deal like last year for BF? Those were amaysing!

    • If you've got a dual sim phone upsized plans aren't necessary. Just take advantage of free sim deals posted on here for extra data.

  • Great deal.

  • 140GB data offer valid for new customers only who activate by 28 Nov 2022. 130GB from second recharge.

so how many GB of data will I get with this plan if I activate > 28.11.22?

    • Probably not 140GB :-)

  • +2

    May be worth noting that Boost looks like adding global roaming to their plans soon;
    boost.com.au/blogs/help-topics/using-your-phone-overseas
Boost boss Peter Adderton hinted at the same thing recently on social media

    • Yep :)

  • Boost Prepaid $240 (was $300) | 12 Months Expiry |
We need that deal with a $40 cashback and you will see everyone from Optus to switch to Boost

The 20% deal is a repeat deal every BF now it's a question whether TA can pull it off along with Boost to bring on e-sim and global roaming. May be I should help out their dev team lol, 2 weeks+ is lot of time but I am sure it's Telstra who don't want to get their asses up on e-sim yet for Boost

  • this or wait for black friday?

    • +2

      Both

    • +2

I timed my most recent SIM swap to fit in any Black Friday deals coming up but when this appeared, I jumped on it. Telstra coverage, 5G (which suits me due to recent Moto handset deal on this site), more data than I currently use and only $10 and coins a month.
      Chicken dinner!

  • This site can’t be reachedThe connection was reset.

    • Try again. It happened to me

      • +1

Thanks…it didn't work but I've turn off my Optus Wifi and connect my Vodafone hotspot and it works.
It seem like Optus wifi is blocking the page….

        • Damn. Optus has evolved to stop u from changing provider

  • Are people starting to get push back from Chat when asking to transfer their Boost number to a starter SIM ?

    • Did it happen to you just now?

      • No but I'm doing mine next week and saw some interesting comments here.

        • How did you with this? Successful?

  • If I run out of data 9 months into the deal, can you buy standalone data packs? And how much do they cost?

    • +1

If you run out of data before the 12-month expiry, you can choose to recharge another 12 months data plan or a month-to-month plan is completely up to you!

      • Thanks, I feel like I would prefer the 260Gb plan but its sad that one is $300 with only $6 cashback :(
Are you expecting to offer a deal on the 260Gb plans soon?

  • anyone know how quickly Boost gets the orders shipped? in general

    • +1

      3-7 days

  • +1

Thank you for your interest with Boost.

To set proper expectation, data allowance for our $200 SIM kit for new activation will still be 140GB even if you activate it after 28 Nov 2022.

140GB has been our offer for new SIM/customer activation. If ever the offer changes, it will possibly be more than 140GB. Rest assured that data offer won't be lesser even if you activate it after the offer date.

    • Sounds like you might have been chatting with Muzeeb
